The Lord Goes Before

Today we have another wonderful card from Shelly Newkirk, one of our guest designers at Classy Cards 'n Such. Shelly shows us how she enhanced a computer generated sentiment.

Starting out, I covered a plain white card base with a soft colored designer paper (DP) that had no distinct pattern.

The frame was made using Spellbinders Label 9 die, but any Spellbinders label die would work great as a frame. Tape the die on white card stock with low tack masking tape.

Next place a Spellbinders Oval die inside the label. Tape in place and run through your machine. Do not remove the tape, but place the soft embossing mat under the dies and emboss. You could also place the frame in an embossing folder for a different look.

To give the frame some dimension, turn the frame over and on the back side, I attached pieces of a flat egg carton to create a 3-D effect. This is a great inexpensive way to pop up your die cuts!

The Scripture has been computer generated.  Die cut it using the oval die that is larger than the oval aperture, to hide the edge of the oval.

Sponge the edges of the oval scripture with a Tim Holtz Distressed Ink Pad that will coordinate with the DP that is covering the card base.  In this case it I chose a purple ink to use.

Attach the frame to the Scripture oval.  Center it on the card.

Die cut 2 Anja Leaves 2 by Marianne Creatables and position where desired on frame.

Add several sponged flowers that will coordinate with your DP and ink. Use a Viva Pearl Pen to put lovely centers in the flowers.
It's as easy as that! This is a great way to enhance your computer generated sentiments or art work!!
Great idea Shelly! Thanks!!
