February Birthday

Good afternoon, and welcome to another sample card from Classy Cards 'n Such. Mindy with you to share a birthday card suitable for a February Birthday. I hope you will enjoy it, and leave me a note. I enjoy comments from everyone.

My card background started with a sheet of watercolor paper that I lightly misted with water then embossed with the Smitten Embossing Folder by Anna Griffin. I then misted it again so it was wet all over, and tapped some of the Alizarin Crimson Color Burst and Merlot Color Burst from Ken Oliver Crafts.  When the card was dry, I accented the hearts on it with the Pearl Pen - Glitter Pink by Viva Decor and let it dry before adhering it to my card front.

I then die cut the amazing calligraphy die, Happy Birthday by Elizabeth Crafts Designs along with a thin sheet of craft foam to give the die stability and strength before adhering it to the card front. A fabric bow and small hearts, along with a butterfly die cut from Medium Butterflies by Impression Obsession were added to complete the card.

Beat the Blues

It's the beginning of a New Year 2016, and time to begin a new chapter in your book of life.  Mindy here, with a frosty look at one way to beat those wintertime blues, by keeping yourself cozy and warm.

My card for this week's challenge at Classy Cards 'n Such blog is my interpretation of our theme, Winter Blues.  One way to keep warm and cozy is to wear your gloves or mittens when your hands are cold.  I knew I wanted to feature my mittens, so I started by cutting my mittens die and adding background layers to feature them prominently.

I used the following dies available in the Classy Cards 'n Such online store:
Stacked Mittens by Poppystamps
Fleur de Elegance by Spellbinders
Oval Regalia by Spellbinders

The background of my card base was embossed with the Juliet Damask embossing folder by Anna Griffin, before adhering the die cut backgrounds with 1/2" Scor-Tape and Joy! Foam Pads Large.  I colored and decorated the details of my mittens with a glitter gel pen, and tied a simple satin bow to match my colored layers.  The sentiment was stamped on a die from the Oval Regalia set with a stamp from the Just the Right Words by Becca Feeken stamp set from JustRite Clear Stamps.

I hope you have enjoyed my card and will consider entering our challenge with a card of your own. Hope to see you soon.

Pink & Sparkly Chloes

Good Morning, it is Shirley posting today. The leaves are falling very quickly in my little corner of the world and almost all of the summer flowers are gone.  I still have some pink petunia's that give the lawn a little color.   Seeing the pink colored petunias put me in a mood to make a flower card, with sparkles to brighten up the day.

I started with a white card base, and cut another white layer to use over it. I used my Sue Wilson Lavish Swirls - Diagonal die to on the bottom of this layer. I chose the Anna Griffin Matelasse embossing folder, to emboss the top portion of this layer. I cut a piece of pink glitter paper to attach under the Lavish Swirls. I popped it up over the card base using Joy Large Foam Pads.

I used the same pink glitter paper with the Memory Box Tall Chloe Stem die. The pink and silver glitter butterflies were made using the Memory Box Butterfly Delights die.

I adhered the Tall Chloe Stems and Butterfly Delights to my card using Art Institute Dries Clear Adhesive and the
Art Institute Metal Tip.  For the final touch to my card,  I added White Pearls to the Butterfly Delights and Tall Chloe Stems.

I hope you liked my card. Come back soon to see what the other design team members have made for you.

Fall Thank You

Is it fall yet?  The Classy Cards 'n Such online store has some beautiful papers that show how beautiful fall colors are.

Here is a card I made with some of my favorite papers called Harvest Lane, and Pumpkin Spice, by Simple Stories. The sentiment and scalloped center stamp is from Floral Fan Elements by JustRite.

The bottom half of the card was embossed with the Anna Griffin folder called Smitten.

My favorite part of the card is the upper half which comes from the Harvest Lane paper pad. It has several pages of 3" x 6" elements. This one was trimmed to fit my card base.

The layer medallion was cut with two dies from Blueprints 13, and the scallop border is from Blueprints 3, both by My Favorite Things. The medallion was popped up with Joy! Large Foam Pads.

Here's hoping fall is coming soon near you! While you wait, take a look at the many pretty fall colored papers at Classy Cards 'n Such online store. You can keep you dreaming that fall is right around the corner.

Tea Time

Hello, Diane with you today!

I have a pretty card to share that would be good for a tea loving friend.

I started with a pretty piece of somewhat vintage looking Rose paper from the Joy! 6" x 6" Romance paper pad for one side, and a piece of cream card stock embossed using Anna Griffin Matelasse embossing folder for the other side. A scrap of green ribbon was adhered down between the two.

I know they are not even pieces, but I purposely intended that, as I wanted to show more of the pretty designer paper.

The embossed oval is Sue Wilson Kefalonia from the Greek Island Collection.

I cut two sets of the PoppyStamps Teapot Stack, one for the outline and one to fill in the negative space of the teapots.

I added dots around the teapots, and colored the edge, as well of the oval using Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Pen.

I adhered a pretty pink sheer bow which I then added Pink Mini Rose Buds. Under each Rose I added tiny little leaves from Impression Obsession Leaf Cluster.

To finish Le Creme Pearls were added.

Thank you for visiting with me today!

Best Friends

Good afternoon, it's Joy!  I love the challenge today at Classy Cards 'n Such blog. It's all about sweetness and friends. We are to add a bird or squirrel to our project.

This sweet image is from Twinkles by Impression Obsession. The background was done with a partial embossing technique, using a folder called Smitten by Anna Griffin - one of my favorites!

I used a few markers to color it, and then added Wink of Stella over the snowman, and on the snow underneath him. I guess I could add that Wink of Stella to every card!  It really makes projects just a little extra special.

Now, it's your turn to show us what you would do with Classy Card 'n Such's Squirrel-y Friends Challenge. We would love to see what you would do with this challenge. You could be the winner of a nice prize!
