Cast Your Cares

Hi, it's Joy here today showing you a card I made with supplies found at the Classy Cards 'n Such online store for our "Purple Ride" challenge this week.

Here is the card I made:

I used the purple paper from Secret Garden by Graphic 45.  The print paper is from Key to My Heart by KaiserCraft and was cut using the scallop die from Blueprints 4 by My Favorite Things. The sentiment from Cast All Your Cares by JustRite was embossed with Sparkle 'n Sprinkle Gold Fine Detail embossing powder.  I added a tiny strip of Gold Mirricard.  The bike was popped up using the Large Joy Foam Pads.

We would love to see what you would do for this challenge.  All you need to do is make a project following the guidelines set out here.  Then post your project to the link found there or on my blog.

My hope is that if you are having a hard day that you will remember that the Lord will give you the strength to get through whatever is challenging you.

Have a great day!

Petunia Basket

Hi, Diane with you today!  This week our challenge theme is Purple Ride.  Now, doesn't a purple bike sound like fun?

I started my card using a pretty A5 Bellisima designer paper pack for my background.  Using So Silk Fabulous Purple 130# card stock, I cut a bike with Impression Obsession Bicycle Die Cut Set.  I added a Memory Box Woven Basket die cut from Pearlized Esse White 105# card stock. You could use Memory Box Bountiful Basket as an alternative basket die cut.

I filled the basket with tiny Impression Obsession flowers. I colored the tiny flowers with Magenta from the PanPastels Flower coloring kit-Susan's Gardens.  The center of the flowers have tiny Black Pearls.

For a pop of color, I added a tiny butterfly cut from Memory Box Butterfly Heart.  A quick note on this die - I die cut it, then I just snipped off tiny butterflies as I needed them, making this die useful in a very different way!

A few greens were added to the basket.  I finished with a sheer bow that I added a Lavender Pearl to the center.

Thank you for visiting with me today!

Isn't this a fun challenge??   There is plenty of time left for you to join in!   Details are here.

Thanks for stopping by!!!   Until next time...

Up Up and Away

Hi!  Diana here to share with you my take on this week's Purple Challenge at CCNS.  I don't think I would have ever tried making a bike purple until this challenge but I'm pleased with how this card turned out.

I first used the Memory Box Brand New Bicycle on a lavender foil sheet from Spellbinders Jewel Tones foil pack. When cutting out these foil sheets and the die is intricate, I first glue the sheet down to white card stock. I find that this gives the foil more weight and is less likely to bend or wrinkle when removing from the die. I also die cut seven balloons from a light purple card stock using the balloon die from Our Daily Bread Designs' Happy Birthday set. To add dimension to the balloons, I sponged Shaded Lilac around the edges of the balloons and added a bit of white with a white gel pen. To make my background, I used the large stitched rectangle die from My Favorite Things' Blueprint 13 and sponged Broken China over masked clouds to create my sky scene. Before adhering the balloons and after the gluing the bike down, I used a ruler and a black Micron Pen to draw 7 lines up from the bike. The balloons were glued on and the last two were popped up with small Joy! foam pads. I stamped the sentiment in black pigment ink and clear embossed.

Thank you so much for looking and hope you can play along. I would love to see your take on this week's challenge!

Did you know that all Memory Box and PoppyStamps dies are 18% off through July 2nd?   It's a great deal and you can see all of the details here.

Thanks for stopping by!!!   Until next time...

Let's Ride

It is Shirley here today. I am going to share my card I made for the Purple Ride challenge this week. We were given a pictures of two cute Purple Bicycles with a basket of live flowers on it.

I picked out purple card stock and designer paper to start off with my card. Once the pieces were cut, I used my scissors to distress the edges. Next I added Lace at the top and the bottom of my card stock.

I used the Impression Obsession Riding Pretty Cling stamp, set to stamp the bicycle on white card stock. I used markers to color the bicycle. and the basket. I also used the Impression Obsession Bicycle die cut set to cut out the basket of flowers.

I used a stamp from my collection to stamp the grass around the bicycle and sponged it with distress ink.  The clouds were done with blue ink and a cloud template. You could use the Memory Box stencil, Modern Cloud Cover, to create your clouds. I cut a scalloped rectangle from purple card stock to make a layer for the bicycle.

I used White Seam Binding for my triple bow, and added a Teardrop Bling - White Pearls on the bow. I colored the pearl with a marker. Next, I found a silver lock with a heart and key that was in my embellishment tray and added them to the card.

The Memory Box Willoughby Butterfly Wings was added to the bottom of the card with Art Institute Dries Clear Adhesive.  I added some pieces of Eternal Swirls - White Pearls that were left over from another project to, complete my card.

We appreciate you coming by today!
