Elegant Christmas

Hello, crafting friends!  It is Shirley here today, with a card that I have made for Challenge #108 Squirrel-y Friends. Make a friend card and add a squirrel or a bird.

I started my card with a white card base. I cut another white layer and embossed it using the Darice Doily Lace  embossing folder.

Next I chose two stamps to stamp my sentiment. One of them had My Friend on it, and the other one had Merry Christmas. I aligned them on my block, stamped them in Versamark and followed with Gold Detail embossing powder. This is a great way to stretch your stamps.

I took the Impression Obsession Pine Branch die to cut the white pine branches. I attached them to my card using Art Institute Dries Clear Adhesive.

I used Gold shiny card stock to cut my birds using Bird Song Dies  Secret Treasures Collection. I attached the gold birds to the branches, also using the Art Institute Dries Clear Adhesive.

My finishing touch to my card was to make a bow with gold ribbon and using the Bow Easy. This is a great tool for me because I cannot tie pretty bows.

I hope you will join us for the challenge this week.  Beverly always has a nice prize for the winner.

My Cup Runneth Over

It is Shirley posting today!  I made a card for our Classy Cards 'n Such Loves Me, Loves Me Not challenge this week. I hope you take a look at our Inspiration picture and join us for our challenge.

I started my card with a white card base and  layered it with  black card stock. Next, I used blue card stock to cut an overlay, using the Couture Creations Tied Together die. I used a white piece of card stock to put behind the Tied Together die cut.

I used the Inky Antics Daisy Bouquets to stamp my image on white card stock. The images are colored with markers.

Various circle dies were used to cut the image out, as well as the layers behind it.

I found this black striped ribbon to add to my card. For the finishing touch I used three Silver Rhinestones.  I put my card together using Art Institute Dries Clear Adhesive.

Thank you for visiting today.  See you again soon.

Swirls and Pearls

Hello, card making Friends!  It is Shirley posting today!  I hope you all are having a great week. We have had a few really nice days and that sure helps with the winter blahs.

I am showing my card for the Fancy Pearls challenge today. I hope I have added enough pearls. I had planned on adding some lace to it, but that is not where the card went once I got started. I suppose you all know how that goes.

I started my card by cutting a pink card base. I layered it was brown card stock. I used white card stock and the Couture Creations Tied Together die to cut my overlay. I used a piece of word paper, that had a hint of pink to it, to put behind the white overlay.

I used pink card stock and the Spellbinders Floral Ovals die to cut my decorative oval. Next I put a plain white oval that I embossed with the Crafts Too Dots embossing folder to layer over the fancy floral oval.

To decorate my floral oval I chose the Impression Obsession Open Scroll Flower to cut with brown card stock. I backed the flower with pink card stock to make the flower pop. I used Art Institute Dries Clear Adhesive with the attachable Metal Tip to adhere it to my oval. I really love this adhesive to glue down small things.

I added some White shimmer ribbon roses to the front of the oval. I used Snowflake Pearls to decorate the front of my card. I added some brown swirls and leaves, using a die from my collection, to decorate my card as the finishing touch.

Thanks, so much, for tuning in today.  I hope you will join us for our challenge, I would love to see your fancy pearls on your card. See you again soon!

St. Patrick's Day

Hi, it's Jenny posting today with a card for this week's Going Green challenge. The challenge is a simple one - use only shades of green and neutrals on your card. I know I'm a little late for St. Patrick's Day, but I hope you enjoyed the day.

I cut the Couture Creations Tied Together die with Kraft card stock, and adhered it to a green polka dot paper from the Vintage Bliss paper pad. I popped the designer paper up with Joy Crafts Foam Pads for dimension.

I cut the large flowers from Heartfelt Creations Botanical Wings die, using a piece of green dotted paper from my stash. Yellow distress ink was added to the edges using a Mini Ink Blending Tool. The petals were shaped with tools and molding mat from my Paper Shapers Tool Kit.  After assembly I glued green rimmed rhinestones from my stash to the centers.

The Cheery Lynn Designs Cutie Fringe IV flowers are wonderful as accent flowers, and roll so easily with the Rolling Tool from the Paper Blossoms Tool Kits. Before rolling, I colored the fringe flowers using a green spray mist from my stash for sparkle.

The sentiment is from an old stamp from my stash.  I centered the Spellbinders Labels Eighteen die around the words before cutting. Using the die as a stencil ,I then sponged peeled paint distress ink over the sentiment with my blending tool.

Last, I arranged the flowers and adhered them with Joy Crafts Foam Pads to the card front. I added some green leaves and mini flourishes from dies in my stash to complete the arrangement.

I hope you like the result and can join us this week for a chance to win a great prize!

Thinking of You

Hi, it's Jenny posting again today.  I was inspired to use my new Dee's Distinctively flower die.

First I cut the Dee's Distinctively Secret Garden Flower 4 flowers, and colored them using Distress Ink and my Mini Ink Blending Tool. I cut the stems from a die from my stash, and had to modify it by cutting off the flowers that went with that die. I colored the stems with Shabby Shutters Distress Ink.

I cut the background with a light blue cardstock and the Tied Together die. This is an A6 size card. I cut a quarter inch off the side of the card to leave a symmetrical white frame around the die. The card is now tall and narrow.

I added some sparkle to the yellow flower layer with a Wink of Stella pen. I assembled and glued the flowers together and added the tops with Joy Foam Pads.  I also used Foam Pads to adhere the flowers to the card front for dimension.

To finish off the card, I cut the 'Thinking of You' phrase from the Impression Obsession Greeting Set.  I sponged distress ink on the words to match the flowers and then glued them to the card front.
