Red Bird

Hi, it's Jenny today, with a new card.

I started with a Kraft 5.5 inch card base, added a white layer on top that was cut with a die in my stash. I used more Kraft paper to cut the Poppystamps Claudette Frame, that I then cut the center out of.

I love playing with Frantage Embossing Powder. Using the Poppystamps Vintage Birdcage die, gave me a perfect opportunity to use it. I cut the birdcage, coated it with Versamark ink, sprinkled the Frantage Vintage color on it, and heated with a heat tool from behind. I like the varied looks you can achieve with the Frantage powder.

I added a red colored bird from the Memory Box Resting Birds die. The result makes this look more like a holiday card than a summer card though.

Kraft paper was also used to create foliage from the Memory Box Open Studio Meadowbird Branch die. Some of the other foliage was cut in red, and it makes the branches look like red berries. The flowers and Rhinestones are from a die in my stash.

Birthday Wishes

Hi, it's Jenny posting today with a card for the new Fancy Pearls challenge.  Add a pearl to your project and join this challenge for a chance to win a great prize!

I found this frame that had been cut out of the Love Letters paper pad using Impression Obsession 6-in-1 Frame die and began creating from there.  Using a soft pink paper from the Love Letters 6x6 pad I cut the Memory Box Petite Cakes.  My pearls seemed a little large to decorate the cakes with so I used Liquid Pearls from my stash instead.  

The Memory Box Scalloped Cake Stands were heat embossed using Shabby White embossing powder from the Frantage Embossing Powder set.  I love the shiny coverage I can achieve with this embossing powder.  The cake stands look like glass.

After the cakes and frame were assembled and adhered to the background paper using Joy Foam Adhesive Pads I decided the card needed another color.  I found a pretty green coordinating paper in the Love Letters paper pad and cut the Impression Obsession Tied Line and Impression Obsession Greeting Set to get the Birthday Wishes phrase.

Then came the fun part.  I glued pearls from my stash to the sides of the frames, and a Rock Candy adhesive gem to the center of the bow on the Tied Line die.   I sprayed the Chalk White Seam Binding with Pearl Glimmer Mist and scrunched it a little before tying a bow.  I then tied the bow to the frame using some silver twine from my stash.  The bow really shines.  Thanks for looking and I can't wait to see your pearl creations this week!

Grandma's Bouquet

Hi, it's Jenny posting today, with a card I made for my mom.  I make lots of cards but I'm really terrible at putting things in the mail. I plan on having one of my children hand this to her. I started by creating the pink Heartfelt Creations Arianna Blooms Pre-Cut Set flowers.  I stamped the flowers with a dark pink ink pad, and cut them out using the matching Arianna Blooms die.  I sponged Spun Sugar and Picked Raspberry Distress inks on the petals using a Mini Ink Blending Tool and then shaped the flowers using a Paper Blossoms Tool Kit and Molding Mat.  To add a little glam, I added a flat-back Pearl to the center of each.

I cut the Cheery Lynn Designs Small Lollipop Cutie Fringe with white card stock, sponged Squeezed Lemonade distress ink to the edges with the Mini Ink Blending Tool, and rolled them with the Roller Tool from the Paper Blossom Tool Kit.  I added a little Art Institute Dries Clear Adhesive with the Art Institute Metal Tip to the beginning and end so the flowers would stay tightly rolled.

After the flowers were done I cut four of the Sue Wilson French Collection - Corner, Border and Tag corners out of the beautiful Gold Leaf Metallic Paper.  I mounted the four corners together on paper from the Kaisercraft On This Day paper pad, backed with another piece of Gold Leaf Curious Metallic before gluing them to the cream 5.5 x 5.5 card.

I arranged the flowers and adhered them with Joy Foam Pads (this way if I needed to, I could peel them up and reposition. I wouldn't have the same flexibility with glue).  Then I added Cheery Lynn Designs flourish die cuts around the flowers using Art Institute Clear Adhesive with the Art Institute Metal Tip. The leaves and flourishes were cut out of Cryogen White Curious card stock and have a soft shimmer.

The Cheery Lynn Designs Grandma - set of 2 die cut was covered in Frantage Silver embossing powder.  I love this stuff, it's large flakes coat everything so nicely, even the elegant Cheery Lynn Designs word dies.  After adding the Frantage embossing powder, the die cut looks like a metal embellishment.
