You're the Best

Good afternoon, friends. Mindy with you today with another card suitable for Dad this Father's Day!

As I mentioned in a previous post, I struggle with making masculine cards for the men in my life. I try to minimize the flowers and the bling on them, but sometimes Dad enjoys flowers, too.

For this card, I knew I wanted to use the birdhouse image from Bird Haven Pre-Cut stamp set from Heartfelt Creations. I colored the image with Distress Ink Markers from Tim Holtz, so I could use a little water to blend the colors on the roses, leaves, and birdhouse. I set aside the image to dry, and started layering my background.

I then fussy cut around my image, leaving a small white border, then mounted it on a piece of Kraft colored card stock and fussy cut again, leaving another small border of the Kraft colored card, before mounting it on the background with Joy! Large Foam Pads.

For the background, I used two sheets of paper from the French Kiss paper pad from Glitz Designs. Although this paper pad is no longer available from the Classy Cards 'n Such online store, there are other Glitz Design pads available that will work just as well. I then added some decorative string and tied a knot to anchor it.

To complete my card, I stamped a sentiment for Dad on a banner, and added a small squirrel from the Squirrel Set, by Impression Obsession, on top of the birdhouse.

Thank you for visiting with me today. Get busy and create a handmade card for your Dad this Father's Day. Don't forget to enter our weekly challenge on our blog.

Wishing You

Hi, Joy today showing you a card I made with supplies from the Classy Cards 'n Such online store.  This will go into my card stash for a wedding.

First thing was to die cut the first layer from pink card stock using a die from Blueprints 4, by My Favorite Things, and embossed it using an Anna Griffin Folder called Crowned Medallion.

From that set I also die cut two of the small rectangle pieces, and stamped the sentiment from Botanical Medallions and Banners, by JustRite, on the smaller one.

A  banner from pattern paper was die cut using Blueprints 13 by My Favorite Things.

A butterfly from Botanical Medallions and Banners by Sweet 'n Sassy was stamped on Vintage Blue paper by Glitz, and die cut using a Majestic Monarch die from Sweet 'n Sassy.  All of these were layered using Joy Foam Pads.

Thanks for looking at my card. Have a happy stamping day!

Beautiful Cloudy Day

It is Shirley posting today.  I have a card to show you that I made for the Classy Cards Cloudy Day challenge.   We have had enough of dark cloudy days where I live so I wanted to make a card with a beautiful cloudy day.

I started my card using a white piece of card stock.  I used a cloud template and blue ink to sponge clouds all over the background. I took some green designer paper from my stash and cut layers of grass using the Impression Obsession Small Grass Border. I layered the grass pieces over the bottom of the card.

I cut the fence using the PoppyStamps Country Fence die. I had extra red birds in my stash that I had made with the
Impression Obsession Birch Trees die. The bow was made using the Sue Wilson Finishing Touches Filigree 3D Itty Bitty Bow. I attached the fence the bow and the birds to my card using Art Institute Dries Clear Adhesive.

I used more of the green paper to cut two of the Memory Box Madera Corner die.  I used the Cheery Lynn Cutie Fringe IV die to cut the two larger flowers in each corner. The small flowers were made with a punch from my collection and White Pearls were added to the centers.

My birdhouses were cut using the Impression Obsession Birdhouse set dies. I used Glitz Vintage Blue paper for the birdhouses and then cut some frames from brown card stock.

Thank you for taking a look at my card today and I will be back soon with another card.

Need A Push?

Hello, Shirley, here today!  Here is a card I made with the Sparkle and Sprinkle Cars - Henry stamp set.

I stamped the image on white card stock and colored with Copic markers.

I used the A2 Matting Basics B to cut the mat.  The designer paper that I used is the Vintage Blue paper pad by Glitz Designs

I used a gear from my stash as the final touch for my card to give it an even more masculine feel.

Condolences

Hi, it's Misti again!

I found out I needed another sympathy card & didn't have one in my stash.  I pulled out the Blueprints 6... I'm lovin' these!!!

Since I color on almost all of my cards, I choose my designer paper first. Next, I decide on the image that I want to use. I pulled out this piece of yellow designer paper from the Glitz design paper Vintage Blue 6" x 6" paper pad.

I stamped the poppy from the Botanical Medallions and Banners onto a piece of white cardstock. Using the Tim Holtz Water Brush , I applied the distress ink markers (using the colors in the supply list), as water colors. I set it aside to dry.

Using the scallop edge from the Blueprints 6, I cut out a piece of black cardstock.

My flower was dry enough to use the rectangle die from the Blueprints 6 and cut out that piece.

Using the With Sympathy sentiment, I stamped directly onto the flower panel. I briefly thought I better get it straight since it was all ready to go onto my card!   I have been known to stamp the sentiment crooked or get a smudge of black ink on a corner and have to start all over!

The last step was to add a few Black Pearls in the corner and the card is complete!

Your card is so soft and pretty! Thanks Misti!!

The Simple Things in Life

It's October with a hint of fall in the air. The cooler nights in my part of the country make me think of fall.
So I am bringing to the Classy Cards 'n Such blog today a pretty fall card. What can be better then a wheelbarrow full of pumpkins, gourds and bittersweet?

This lovely stamp is from the Autumn Blessings by Flourishes. I stamped it on watercolor paper and colored it in with my Tim Holtz Distress Ink Markers.

The wonderful sentiment is one I love, "Give Thanks for the simple things in life". It is part of the same Autumn Blessings stamp set.

I cut out a French Pastry Doily Die by Cheery Lynn Designs and Decorative Labels Decorative Labels Eight by Spellbinders using the Vintage Blue 6" x 6" paper pad by Glitz Designs. I also added a ribbon under the layers for a hint of color.

*A smaller version of the French Pastry Doily Die is also available in the store called French Pastry Tiny Doily.*

A few other items I used to make my card:

Crafter's Tools by Cheery Lynn Designs - these are wonderful to use with the intricate dies.
Scor-Tape 1/2" - I use every time to adhere the layers on my cards. It comes in several other widths as well, you can find it here.

Thank you for visiting!
