Happy Colors

Hello, Diane with you today with what I am calling a happy card!  I think the colors are so bright and cheerful, it just has to make you happy!

I started my card with a stamped background using Distress Old Paper ink on an Impression Obsession background stamp called Sunburst.  I wanted a somewhat muted background, so I inked it lightly.  These are nice, rather large background stamps, approximately 6" x 6", so I used the Mega Mount curved acrylic block for the stamp.

I die cut the gorgeous Anna Griffin Flourish Medallion
from Madarin Curious Metallic #111 card stock.

I stamped Sweet 'n Sassy Flowers in Bloom onto Cryogen White Curious Metallic card stock, an 89# card stock perfect for using your alcohol markers on.

I popped up the image using Joy! Foam Pads Large.  I wanted a bit of bling, so I die cut my sequins using My Favorite Things Sequins die from Orange Iris Shimmer Sheetz.  I just love this die!!  It is a wonderful investment along with the Shimmer Sheetz, allowing you many, many color options using the Iris Sampler Pack Shimmer Sheetz or
the Gemstone Sampler Pack Shimmer Sheetz for your sequins.

Gingham Memories

Hello Classy Friends, Diane here with you on the blog today. This week is starting off with our Gingham challenge using the photo below for inspiration, you need to have gingham somewhere on your project!

I remember as a child how popular gingham was. I even had my bedroom decorated with gingham. We had to make a gingham apron in Home Economics" at school, so you might say I have always been a "gingham" girl!

Impression Obsession has a nice line of "cover a card" stamps. I am using Gingham Cover A Card, just think with this stamp you can have any color of gingham you want. These stamps are wonderful as they stamp big and you can choose to use the entire image of just a fraction of it. I chose to use the entire stamp with a red ink. Don't you just love red gingham?

I used the Mega Mount to mount my Cover-A-Card stamp on. This is a very large acrylic block that fits the stamps perfectly!

I cut four of the Cottage Kutz Fancy Floral Butterfly Corners and positioned them around my card to make a frame. A little tip in using the intricate dies is to place a piece of wax paper over your die, then you paper on top of that before cutting, it makes for a much easier release. To help get all those little pieces out of your cut piece, there is a wonderful new tool by Spellbinders called Tool 'n One.

For the center of my frame, I stamped JustRite Hello Daisy with Versamark, first running the Anti-Static Bag over my card stock, then embossed with Sparkle 'n Sprinkle Black Fine Embossing Powder.

Using Spellbinders Floral Ovals, I positioned it over my stamped image and die cut it.

To finish my card, I added Red Pearls to each corner, a gingham bow and button.

Hi, it's Misti with a card to share with you today!  I used two different Impression Obsession stamps to create my backgrounds.  I LOVE how easy these stamps are to use and how you can customize the colors to what you want.

The first one is the Thick and Thin Cover-A-Card background stamp.  I used a light brown ink on it, trying to mimic the woodgrain on the car. Next I used the Cracked Paint Cover-A-Card stamp on a piece of red cardstock. You will need to use a very large acrylic block to apply these stamps to paper. A great tool for that is the Mega Mount curved acrylic block with handle. It works great for all different stamp sizes.

I pulled out the Surfin Woody stamp set by Sparkle 'n Sprinkle.  I colored in the car using some markers to match the cardstock colors I chose.

I stamped and colored in a surf board, and cut it out.  I wanted it as an accent piece on my card, and popped it up using some Small Joy Foam Pads pieces for a little dimension. I backed all of pieces with navy cardstock and then attached that to my white base.
