Birthday Wishes

Hi, Diane with you today. You have been seeing lots of holiday cards lately I am sure, so today I have something a little bit ordinary to share.

I had some pretty paper I thought a little bit trendy, and decided to build my card on that.

After adhering my base paper, I added a pretty edger at the top using Impression Obsession Border Duo #1. White Pearls were added to each scallop.

I have a real fondness for lattice dies, and Bille's Circle is a gorgeous lattice die, and a perfect place to add my flowers to. It was cut from Stardream Rose Quartz Metallic paper.

Flowers from my own supplies were added, along with tucked in leaves from Spellbinders Romantic Blooms One die set. These are so pretty, as they have so much detail!

Butterflies were made using Bluebell Stardream Metallic paper, and Joy! Crafts  Fantasy Butterflies Die.

To finish I added a bow made from a snippet of ribbon I had left, stamped a sentiment, and a few more White Pearls were added.

Thank you for visiting with me today!

Birthday Star

It is Shirley posting today. I have been playing  with the Ken Oliver Color Bursts again. I really love the way the background turned out on this one.

I started out with a white card base and added a layer of red foil card stock. The top layer is white card stock. I sprinkled Ken Oliver Alizarin Crimson Color Burst on the card stock and spritzed it with water. Next I sprinkled it with Ken Oliver Orange Color Burst and spritzed it with water. I let the colors air dry, but you can carefully use a heat gun to dry it if you are in a hurry to decorate your card.

I used the Memory Box Over the Moon and Stars die to cut the star from red foil card stock, and one from gold card stock.

I attached the stars together and used Joy Small Foam Pads to pop the star up on the card.

The Impression Obsession Greeting Set was used to cut the Birthday Wishes from gold foil card stock. I attached them to the card using Art Institute Dries Clear Adhesive to attach the greeting to the card.

That completes my card. I hope you liked it. Have a good weekend.

Wish on a STARFISH

Happy Summer everyone! Mindy here, wishing you a Happy Birthday if you celebrate during the months of June, July, and August!

Our challenge this week on our blog was to make a card with the theme "At the Beach". I had some shells left over from that card, and decided to use them for a birthday celebration card for a dear friend.

I started with a sand colored card base, and added some "beachy" colored paper for the background.

From the Graphic 45 paper pad, By the Sea, I found the embellishment card that said, "Make a Wish on a STARFISH", and several coordinating ribbon strips that I could add to the card front. I then decorated several of the shells from the Shell Set by Impression Obsession, especially the starfish, and two others with a bit of glitter to make them sparkle, and attached them with Joy! Large Foam Pads.

I stamped a banner with the sentiment from the Keep in Touch, Too, a Sweet 'n Sassy stamp set, and tied a twine bow to the banner to complete my card.

I hope you have enjoyed my card, and will join us for our challenge this week. Be sure to check the requirements on the Current Challenge tab, before submitting your card. We love to see what you create!

Birthday Rose

Hi, it's Jenny posting today with a new card.  I never seem to have enough birthday cards, especially when I need them in a pinch so it's what I make whenever I get the chance.

I began by stamping the Stacy Stamps Rose Stamp with worn lipstick distress ink on white card stock. The beautiful detail of the stamp stood so well on it's own that I left it uncolored. It also saved time. This was a quick card and I love when things just come together.

If you've seen my posts you know I love 3D flowers, and this card was no exception. I cut the Heartfelt Creations Botanical Wings rose die with white card stock, and colored the edges with more worn lipstick distress ink. After it was shaped with Paper Shaper Molding Tools and glued, I pressed the finished flower into Versamark ink, and covered with a sparkly embossing powder from my stash.  Most of the glittery material blew off even though I heated from underneath but it left enough color and texture. I then added a little yellow distress ink and glued a Pearl to the center.

I found the rose leaves left over from another project in my scrap bucket but this botanical wings die does come with leaves too that are similar.  These were colored with a combination of Mowed Lawn and Peeled Paint distress ink.

The Happy Birthday sentiment was cut from the Impression Obsession Greeting Set.  This is my go-to die set for sentiments.  It has a lot of basic words in such a pretty script font and is a perfect size for card making.

Happy Birthday

Hi, it's Jenny posting today with a CAS card I made for a friend's birthday.

I began by cutting the Memory Box Trellis Border with Kraft card stock. I cut the Happy Birthday using Impression Obsession's Greeting Set dies, and colored the phrase with Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist. The Tattered Lace Ferns die was cut with white card stock, and colored with a variety of  green Distress Inks and a Mini Ink Blending Tool.

The flower was created from the new Heartfelt Creations Botanical Wings die. I wanted a flat flower for easier mailing, so I only used three of the layers.  After spritzing with a Glimmer Mist from my stash, I molded the flower using my Paper Blossoms Tool Kit and Molding Mat. I applied Stickles to the edges and then added a Clear Rock Candy center.

Last I popped up the top card layer by using Joy Foam Pads to adhere it to the A2 card base. Thanks for stopping by and don't forget to check out our weekly challenge for a chance to win a great prize!
