Joy

Hello friends! It's Debbie, for this afternoon's post. This is my first Christmas card for this year, that I did not make from a kit.

This card quickly came together. The only thing I can say is, whatever you do, avoid sticking your fingers in wet Stickles. I cannot tell you how many times, I messed up a spot with a finger, and had to add more stickles to the open spots. Lesson learned, the messy way!

I started my card with a medium blue card stock. Then, using the Braided Vines embossing folder, by Sue Wilson, I used a white ink pad and applied it to the front of the embossing folder.

Once I applied the card stock to the white base card, next was to die cut the Joy - Festive Collection and Delicate Fronds dies, also by Sue Wilson. The Joy - Festive Collection is two dies. I added Stickles to all the open areas of the die. 

Next, I attached White Mini Roses, (they look yellow, but they really are white), and tucked some of the Delicate Fronds die in under the flowers.

I attached everything to the card using the Art Institute Dries Clear Adhesive.

Rustic Wedding

Hello, Diana here this afternoon. When I saw the inspiration photo for this week's CCNS challenge, I immediately thought of the rustic weddings that seem to be growing in popularity.  Who knew that a barn could make for a lovely backdrop to weddings?  I love how creative people can be!  I'm not so bold but I can attempt it on cards if not in real life. ;)

I started with a scrap sheet of woodgrain paper I found and though it didn't turn out quite how I pictured it, I think I got the rustic feel of it!  What do you think?

 

The woodgrain paper is adhered to a darker brown card stock for contrast. I also popped up the Sue Wilson Spanish Collection - Seville Die on the same dark brown.

So that the card would not be so stark, I sponged all the edges of my layers, as well as Memory Box Fresh Foliage clippings with Tea Dye to age it a bit.

My Scripture is from ODBD Love One Another, stamped in black pigment ink and then Clear Detail embossing powder.

Finally, I hot glued some Kaisercraft Terra-cotta Mini Paper Blooms to frame my verse.

Lilac Blossoms

Hi, Diane with you today!

It is lilac time here in Michigan and I have to admit they are one of my favorites in the Spring. Notice I said one of, I have a love for most flowers.

I used the new Ken Oliver Watercolored Memories paper

for my background. This paper is two sided, with a light watercolor, as I have used on one side and a darker watercolor on the other. It is so gorgeous!

I stamped JustRight Lilac Blossoms with Versamark on  Heavyweight Vellum, then sprinkled with Sparkle 'n Sprinkle White Fine Detail embossing powder. I heat set it, then I  flipped the paper over and colored with my markers. The darker, bolder colors work best for this. Just make sure to color on the reverse side of the stamped image.

I fussy cut it out, which I might add was very easy to do.

Mounted it on Spellbinders Floral Ovals, which was cut from Pearlized Esse White Metallic paper. Both the  image and the oval were popped up with both sizes of Joy! Foam Pads, large and small.

The sentiment is part of the Lilac Blossoms stamp set. It was stamped with Seedless Preserves Distress Ink.

Cherry Blossoms

I have seen many beautiful pictures of the cherry blossom trees blooming, and hope to see them in person someday.

It's Mindy with you today, sharing a card with these beautiful blossoms.  I hope you like it, and are inspired by it's beauty.

There are so many dies and stamps in the Classy Cards 'n Such online store, I'm sure you will find many to add to your collection.

I started with the Cherry Blossoms die cut set from Spellbinders and cut the largest flower die from pink paper ribbon. This is a twisted paper that forms a cording, but can be unfurled then die cut. I like it because it is textured and thin, but many card stock brands will work as well. I have even used paper coffee filters before.

I embossed a sheet of yellow card stock with the Dazzling Sunburst embossing folder by Ecstasy Crafts, and mounted it behind a die cut circle cut in my card front.

I assembled the branch and flowers with Art Institute Dries Clear Adhesive then attached it to the circle edge and spread it across the opening.

After attaching a cute butterfly near the flowers, I die cut a tag from the A2 Filigree Delight Set also from Spellbinders. I shaded the tag and added the phrase from Just the Right Words , by Becca Feeken for JustRite Stamps.  The tag was adhered using foam tape below the opening to complete the card.
