Be Merry

Hi Diane here with you today, with another Christmas card to share.

I started with a red card stock base, then embossed white card stock with Crafts Too Dots embossing folder.

I cut a circle with Spellbinders original circle die, then stamped my sentiment using JustRite Christmas Inner Thoughts.

The wreath was cut with a Cottage Cutz Whimsical Holiday Wreath die. You should take a peek at this die, as not only does it come with the separate bow and flower dies I have used, but there is a gingerbread, bell, gift box, dove, deer, ornament and another flower to choose from.  These would also be great dies for gift tags.

The wreath itself was cut from an embossed metallic paper I had and a piece of craft foam underneath to give it a bit of depth.

The red flowers and bow were cut using Stardream Jupiter Metallic paper.  To the bow and flower centers, I added Silver Rhinestones.

Thank you for visiting with me today!

Dreamy

Hi Diane with you today! The card I am showing you today was Pinterest inspired. I saw several different versions of it, but what I love most of this one is that it took about 25 minutes to create!

I started with a scrap piece of paper I had left from the paper pack Bellisima A5 Paper Pack.

I used a die from Spellbinders Floral Ovals to cut the negative you see. A little hint - use a scrap piece of paper to first cut your negative to make sure it is a design you want to use. I will save the real die cut for another project.

Behind the negative space I added Heavyweight Vellum
using 1/2" Scor - Tape. The corner die is Cottage Cutz Fancy Floral Butterfly Corner, cut from white card stock.

The butterflies are Joy! Crafts Butterfly Trio, which were also cut from Heavyweight Vellum.

To finish, I added White Pearls to the butterflies, corner die and added 3 at the top!

I hope you will give this design a try as it is so easy!!!!

Life is Good

Hello, Diana here! It's time for the #94 At The Beach challenge. The challenge is perfect timing for me.

I am actually writing this while sitting lake side. Life is definitely good here! So peaceful and relaxing, and of course, just gorgeous! I just love the decor that reflects the ocean and nautical theme.

I started with cutting a wood grain background paper with the Spellbinders A2 Matting Basics A. I then cut two of the Grapevine wreath by Cottage Cutz in Kraft paper, and glued them down with Art Institute Dries Clear Adhesive. You could also use the Grapevine Wreath by Memory Box, or the Twig Wreath by Impression Obsession. Note that any Wreath die would work.

I then added my nautical elements to it. Some seashell stamps, and black or silver Precious Metals Craft Foil, and cut Impression Obsession Mini Nautical Set. To add dimension to it, I popped up some of the elements with Joy! Small Foam Pads.

My final touch is a sentiment sign from a stamp set I have, stamped with Black Detail embossing powder and cut out with a rounded banner from the MFT Blueprint 13 set.

And of course, I had to do some negative die-cutting for the inside of the card.

As always, thank you so much for looking, and I hope you can play along with our #94 At The Beach challenge!

Birthday Butterfly

A fresh and fun card to celebrate a birthday. Mindy with you today, with a casual and simple card, that only looks difficult and fancy.

The die cut used is the Fancy Floral Butterfly Corner by Cottage Cutz and the Faiery Queen Butterfly by Cheery Lynn Designs. The Faiery Queen is no longer available in the Classy Cards Store, but there are so many beautiful butterflies from other companies that can be substituted. I cut the corner three times, twice for the card length and one to cut apart to give dimension to the various elements.

I covered the card base with a sheet of the Watercolored Memories 6" x 6" paper pad from Ken Oliver Crafts, before adhering the butterfly corners and single butterfly die. A banner with the sentiment from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps, Keep in Touch, Too set, was adhered below the large butterfly.

Thanks, for joining me today, and be sure to visit again, for more great card ideas daily from our wonderful design team.

My Back Yard

Greetings friends! Mindy with you today sharing a card that reminds me of  things happening in my back yard. I was going through my collection of thin metal dies, and as I picked out a few that I thought would go together, I realized that they were things that are in my back yard right now!

I started my card with some card stock and scrap paper that were on my desk from a previous card making session. I then began building layers of die cuts representing the items in my back yard. Using the Fancy Floral Butterfly Corner from Cottage Cutz, I cut two, one for each offset corner. I have lots of plants and flowers that attract butterflies in my yard, along with birdhouses of all shapes and sizes.

Using the Birdhouse Die Cut set from Impression Obsession, I die cut the three houses to place on my card, along with two die cut birds that I adhered with Joy! Foam Pads - small to give the birds depth and dimension.

I also have lots of squirrels in my yard, so using the Squirrel Set die from Impression Obsession, I cut two squirrels and adhered one on the ground and the other hanging from the dangling birdhouse that hangs from the tree in my back yard.

Using my Wink of Stella- clear glitter pen, I highlighted some of the butterflies and flowers on the corners. To complete my card, I added a satin bow and tag to the tallest birdhouse, and my Backyard Card was complete.
