Tessatina Peony Card

Hi Classy friends!  It's Holly posting today and I've got a funky floral card to share with you.

That's quite a bit different from my usual style of cards, right?  I wanted to explore having a brief touch of stenciling behind a focal image, so I started by very lightly sponging some gray ink over the Texture Tessatina stencil onto some white cardstock.  I started it in the lower right quadrant and let it fade out from there.  I love the effect, and I plan to explore this some more.

Next, I cut two strips of paper from the Vintage Bliss 6"x6" paper pad (LOVE that paper pad!!) and adhered them to my stenciled background.  I then set this aside while I worked on my flower.

I dabbed some Squeezed Lemonade Distress Stain and some Peacock Feathers Distress Stain onto a nonstick craft mat, and dragged some white cardstock through the stains. Once this dried, I cut it out with the Lovely Peony Background die. I paired this with the Lovely Peony Outline die cut from black cardstock and then I glued this flower down onto the paper strips on my stenciled background.

For a touch of whimsy, I curled the opposite corner and then I glued this piece down onto a black card base.  It needed a little something more, so I looked through my bling and this Pink Rhinestone Swirl jumped out at me.  I cut a section of the swirl out from the package and then applied it between the curled corner and the flower.

I am in love with the fade-out stencil effect that I created on this card.  I do have some more stencils on order, so it's going to be fun to play around with these!  I hope you've had a chance to try the stencils in the shop. There are so many great ways to use them in your creations!

Love how the card just pops color all over! Thanks Holly!

Birthday Blooms

Hi, it's Misti sharing the card I made for this week's Happy Birthday challenge!

I don't know about you, but it seems like I go through more birthday cards than anything else especially this time of the year.  I made this card to send to my hubby's step mom.

I stamped the largest flower from Dahlia by Sparkle N Sprinkle onto my white panel. I stamped it again on another piece of white cardstock and cut it out.  I colored in both blooms with a red marker.  Then using some pieces of small Joy Foam Pads, I layered the image I cut out on top of the one stamped on the white panel. I didn't put it directly on top, but made it go in between the petals.  It looks a little fuller that way.

I layered that panel onto a piece of black cardstock from the Layering Swatches #2.

I took a piece of background paper from the Key to My Heart 12 x 12 paper pack and layered it onto a piece of Kraft cardstock. I taped my flower panel down and added a piece of Black/White polka dot ribbon. I made my cheater bow with a smaller piece of ribbon. I layered that onto a piece of black cardstock then onto my white base.

Last, I added some Wink of Stella to the top bloom to add a little sparkle. I hope you'll join us this week with a birthday creation.

What a lovely birthday card! Thanks Misti!

Happy Birthday To You

Good Morning! Joy here today posting for Classy Cards 'n Such.  Beverly, owner of Classy Cards 'n Such gave us an opportunity with this challenge to make a Happy Birthday card.

1.  Cut a mat in aqua paper using Matting Basics A by Spellbinders.
2.  Cut the next size mat from white card stock using the Matting Basics A by Spellbinders.
3.  Cut a circle using the negative part of the circle as a mask place this mask on top of the white card stock.
4.  Place Garden Flora stencil on top of the mask and sponge three different colors of Tim Holtz Distress Inks with a Mini Ink Blending Tool
5.  Remove the stencil and mask and you will have the circle of Garden Flora.
6.  Cut the Happy Birthday sentiment using the Happy Birthday Extravaganza sentiment by Memory box and cut loose the Happy and place on top of a small strip from Vintage Bliss paper pad by Simple Stories.
7.  Stamp just the Birthday from the Happy Birthday sentiment from Spring Words, by JustRite, below the strip, adding 3 small brads.
8.  Layer on top of a card blank.

It's a great feeling knowing I can add this to my card supply and pull it out just when I need it.

Thanks for looking at my card and have a HAPPY stamping day!
