Best Wishes on Your Engagement!

Hi everyone - This is Chrissy D here today! I am so glad you came by the Classy Cards 'n Such Blog! Welcome!

I had so much fun playing with the Canadian Kaleidoscope Doily from Cheery Lynn Designs! To help the ease of my die cutting, I used the Crafter's Tools and the Cuttlehug Large. I cut out the die, using  Layering Swatches in #1 Metallic Variety that were dry embossed using the Daisies Embossing Folder. I just LOVE how shimmery these papers are!

I painted some flowers that have been forever in my stash, with a water brush and the Holiday Sparkle Twinkling H20 and placed a dot of Viva Pearl Pen Ice White in the center of each of them. I cut the Leaf Die Cut from Cheery Lynn Designs using emerald cardstock.

I adhered all of the layers and added a bow from white organdy ribbon. Classy Cards 'n Such has a wide variety of beautiful trim, ribbons and lace available HERE.

I hope you enjoyed my project! Have a WONDERFUL day!

Thanks, Chris!

Holly's Kraft Sympathy Card

Hi again!  It's Holly posting today, and I'm sharing this Kraft Sympathy card with you.  I wanted to create a soft, gentle, soothing card that will be welcomed by someone who needs comforting.  It's never easy to make sympathy cards, so I wanted to use soft colors instead of somber black and white colors.

I've used these Classy Cards 'n Such products:

With Sympathy (JustRite)
Labels 21 (Spellbinders)

I started by stamping the sentiment with kraft ink onto vanilla cardstock.  I cut this out with a Classic Oval Large die and then sponged some soft blue ink around the edges.  The scalloped kraft layer was cut out with a Classic Scallop Oval Large die which is in stock at Classy Cards 'n Such.  I adhered the sentiment to the scalloped kraft layer and set this aside.

I cut a long piece of Chalk White seam binding and pressed it into my kraft inkpad until it was mostly covered with ink.  I needed to soften the color a bit, so I crumpled up the seam binding in my hand and misted it with water.  I set this aside to dry and continued working on my card.

The kraft card base is 5.5" x 4.25" and I cut some designer paper to 5.25" x 4" and adhered that to the card base.  I used a Labels 21 die to cut the soft blue polka dot piece and adhered that to the card.  I tied the dried colored seam binding around the card and fashioned a shabby bow on the right side.  Lastly, I adhered the sentiment with some foam tape to the center of the card.

Just a little note - you've probably seen me using a lot of Chalk White seam binding on my projects here.  I love this stuff!  You can order this to whatever length you need - Beverly will not cut this up into one yard pieces like some other places do.  She will leave it in one whole uncut piece whether it is 5 yards or 15 yards.  I order mine in the longest length I can get because I am going through this stuff like crazy.  It's wonderful in its original color and it's so easy to custom-color to coordinate with my projects.

Thanks, Holly!   Sympathy cards are something we seem to need often lately, so I'll be posting some of mine later on.

There is still time to enter our LACE challenge which closes tomorrow morning!  Details here.

Beverly's Pennant Card with Gorgeous Cluny Lace!!!

Good morning!!  Here's the card I created for our lace challenge.   I started with a plain vanilla card base.  The top mat is cut from this gorgeous red paper from the Happy Travels pad and layered atop another, slightly larger mat from Esse Smooth Pearlized Cocoa.   I love the pearlized paper!   Such a subtle sheen and so elegant!!

I cut a triangle from the cocoa paper and added the birthday sentiment from the Birthday Rubz.  It is sooo easy to apply the Rubz...especially since I used a stylus from the McGill Paper Blossoms Tool Kit.  If you would like to see more detailed instructions on applying the Rubz, click here.  These are great sentiments and it's VERY hard to see that it's not a stamp!  Very high quality!!

Before adhering the birthday pennant, I adhered the border of Ivory Cluny Lace.  I'm like Holly...this lace is just jaw-dropping!

The corners are cut from the cocoa cardstock using one of the corners from the Lace Corner Deco A set.  I adhered it using a Quickie Glue Pen.   Just put the glue in several spots on the back and hold with your finger for a few seconds to adhere.   No muss, no fuss!

I added LeCreme Pearls to the Lace Deco corners, opposite corners and the pennant.  The card front is framed with gold lines from the Gold Lines outline stickers.

Join us in our latest challenge - LACE!!!  It's a fun and easy one to do!!  All of the details are here.

Holly's Copper Fish

Hi, it's Holly posting today.  Have you seen the new Father's Day Bundles?  I created this card using the Bass Fishing Bundle, and it's perfect for giving to the men in my family.
I started by cutting out the awesome Bass Fishing Cheery Lynn die from plain white cardstock.  I covered the entire die cut with copper pigment ink and then poured the Copper embossing powder over the whole thing.  A heat gun melted the Copper embossing powder onto the die cut, and I set it aside to cool.
Do you see the rich blue/green background?  I used the Watercolor Distress technique from Technique Junkies to create that background with four of the Tim Holtz distress inks - Tumbled Glass, Stormy Sky, Peacock Feathers (Spring 2012 set), and Evergreen Bough (Winter 2011 set).  I love how these colors look together!  I adhered my "copper fish" to this background, and then adhered the whole thing to a plain white card base.  One of the Father's Day Rubz is applied to the inside of the card to wish my dad a Happy Father's Day.

Check out the Father's Day Bundles at Classy Cards 'n Such.
 These are wonderful money-saving deals!!!

Love Deepens

Hello... It's Jennipher with another card for Classy Cards 'n Such. There is nothing that gives me more pleasure than creating a card to tell someone just how much they mean to me. This card clearly does that and it was tons of fun to make!

I started my card with a base of Esse Smooth Pearlized Cocoa cardstock. I distressed the edges of the red polka dot patterned paper from Glitz Designs Happy Travels paper pad. Once the edges were distressed to my satisfaction, I inked them with Pumice Stone Distress Ink. I used the same technique on the red floral patterned paper also from the Happy Travels paper pad and adhered it to a square of red cardstock.

Next, using my Spellbinders Lacey Ovals Die, I cut out a Champagne Reich Shine oval. To this oval, I added the Lacey Ovals Nestabling in Moss Pearl. I have to stop here and tell you a little secret... I've had that Nestabling for awhile but was terrified of using it! I just knew that it would end up being one big sticky mess. Well, I must tell you how wrong I was! It went on like a dream, shaky hands and all. It never lost it's shape or get stuck together like bling I've worked with in the past. If you have not tried Nestabling, you must!

Once I had the Nestabling positioned like I wanted it, I cut out another Lacey Oval and stamped my sentiment on it. Using a sponge tool, I lightly sponged Pumice Stone Distress Ink to the edges of the oval.

For a finishing touch, I added a Prima Calcutta Mini in Seashell. These fabric flowers are such a delight and a new favorite of mine.

Everything on my card (with the exception of the red cardstock and sentiment) can be found in the Classy Cards 'n Such online store. You simply must give some of them a try. What am I saying? You have to try them all!

Holly's Sympathy with Cluny Lace

Hi, it's Holly posting today!  Have you played along in the Lace challenge on the Classy Cards 'n Such blog?  I'd love to see what you create for this challenge.  I've created a sympathy card with some gorgeous lace from the Classy Cards 'n Such store.

I purchased some Ivory Cotton Cluny lace, and when I opened the package, my jaw literally fell open.  This lace is GORGEOUS!  So soft, so beautiful, so elegant!  I bought 2 yards, so I still have plenty left over for more cards and projects.  There is also a Black Cotton Cluny lace, and that is definitely going on my next order!  Beverly (the owner) will cut the ribbon and lace to the length you order.  Some stores sell pre-cut ribbons in 1 yard pieces, and I don't like that.  Classy Cards 'n Such cuts it in one continuous length, which is exactly how I want my ribbons/laces.

I stamped the swirly frame from the With Sympathy stamp set with brown ink onto brown cardstock and then cut it out with the matching Nested Oval Medallion Labels die.  I stamped the sentiment with brown ink onto ivory cardstock, then cut it out with an oval Spellbinders die.  I used the Wisped Frames technique from Technique Junkies on the sentiment and then adhered it to the brown frame.  I added a couple of pearls to each side of the frame.

I cut some papers from the Vintage Blue paper pad and adhered them to a brown card base.  The yellow paper needed a little something, so I stamped the corners with one of the ornamental stamps in the With Sympathy set.  Next, I cut the gorgeous Ivory Cotton Cluny lace and adhered it to the blue paper on my card.  The framed sentiment was adhered with some foam pads to the center of the card.

I could have left the card alone at that point, but I just wanted to add a few small flowers to it.  So I used some of the same yellow paper from the Vintage Blue paper pad and cut out three of the smaller flowers from the Cherry Blossoms die set.  I sponged the edges with some brown ink, added some pearls to the centers, and adhered them to the card.

I've used the following products from Classy Cards 'n Such on this card:

Cherry Blossom dies (Cheery Lynn Designs)

Please take some time to check out the gorgeous ribbons and laces in the store.  I hope you play along in the challenge - you could win a fabulous prize!

Linda's Rose Glitter and Lace Challenge #8

Hello everyone!  It's Linda with a card for our Classy Cards 'n Such Challenge 8 - Lace!

For my card base, I chose to use the beautiful Butterfly embossed paper.  If you don't have this paper, you really should get some.  It's a great way to have embossing on your card without having to use an embossing folder.

For my next layer,  I chose to use the Italian Flourish from Cheery Lynn Designs and cut it from Rose Quartz Paper.  The flourish was glued on top of the card base.   I then added some Pink Rhinestones from Want2Scrap.

For my focal point on this card, I chose to use a Rose from the Outline Stickers collection.  I mounted this rose on  a Spellbinders Teardrop Circles also diecut from the Rose Quartz Paper.  I then used the Quickie Glue Pen to fill in the inside of the Rose and covered the petals with Carnation Glitter from Sparkle 'n Sprinkle.  I also filled in the leaves with glue using the Quickie Glue Pen and used Meadow Spark Glitter from Sparkle 'n Sprinkle. This gives you a beautiful sparkle to your card!

Since this challenge is to use lace on your card, I chose to use the White Cotton Flowers Lace which Beverly has in the Classy Cards 'n Such online shop.  To carry out my pink themed card, I wove some very thin pink ribbon through the holes in the lace and glued the strip to the bottom of my card.

The sentiment on the Spellbinders Labels 10 is from a clear stamp from My Sentiments Exactly.  I stamped it with Versamark ink and embossed it with Gold Detail Embossing Powder from Sparkle 'n Sprinkle.

Won't you join us in this challenge and show us some of that beautiful lace you have in your craft room!!  All of the details of the current challenge are here.
