Hello, it's Gracie! Welcome to a new post for Classy Cards 'n Such
weekly challenge. This time our challenge is Pink and Polka Dots.
The
photo inspiration for the challenge is both fun and vintage, with those
lovely porcelain clown dolls, but I decided to go vintage all the way
with my card for today.
I love using digital patterned papers, and I only print them on White Pearl Linen.
I sponged the polka dot paper mixing inks,in various colors. I used a pierced matting die
from Our Daily Bread Designs Flourished Star Pattern set to cut the
patterned papers. I cut the patterned layers in halves and adhered one
on top of the other to create a base for all the embellishments.
I
created a rose using Spellbinders Rose Creations and sprayed it with a
mix of water and ink in a Berry color, using a Spritzer Bottle. I
decided I wanted to make that lovely paper flower stand out, so I
created a Rosette that I also colored with inks, and attached
it to the back of the flower using an antique brad.
I added more
elements to the design, starting with a lovely filigree window die cut
with Spellbinders Window Three,
to which I also die cut a motif using the very new Majesty set. I used a
gorgeous, gorgeous metallic card stock for the window called Stardream Rose Quartz.
I used the ink mix again to spritz to custom color a few pieces of Chalk White
Seam Binding. I
used a piece of the ribbon for the center of the patterned mat, and
another to embellish the Rosette. I also added some lovely flourishes
from ODBD's Fancy Foliage, that I decorated with some
Baby Pearls - LeCreme.
I stamped a Happy Birthday sentiment on a little
tag, using ODBD's sets Mini Tag Sentiments and Mini Tags. I sponged that
little tag with a mix of inks too, and added a piece of linen thread to it. Finally, I adhered the
embellished layer to a coordinating pink card base I cut with
Spellbinders A2 Matting Basics A, using no other than 1/2" Scor-Tape.
I
hope you enjoyed today's post. I invite you to join our challenge this
week! Polka dots and pink is surely a classic combination, and I know
you can come up with a beautiful creation using it! As always a prize
from the store will be awarded to winner, so I hope you can join the fun
