Dogwoods in Bloom

Good morning! Joy here showing you a card I made to meet the new challenge at Classy Cards 'n Such.  The challenge for this week is to make a background using a stencil or a background stamp.

Here is my card for this fun challenge!

For this card, I first taped the stencil from Memory Box called Texture Tessatina to a piece card stock, and inked it with several shades of Tim Holtz Distress Inks with my Mini Ink Blending Tool, which I love! The Mini Ink Blending Foam refill pads are so inexpensive that I have one for most of my colors.

The Dogwood stamp is from Our Daily Bread Designs from Grow in Grace stamp set.  The oval was cut out using  Filigree Delight by Spellbinders. I did a quick job of coloring with just 4 colors, shaded the oval with more Tim Holtz Distress Ink and popped it up with those wonderful Large Joy Foam pads.

I cut a beautiful Flourish die called Amira Flourish by Memory Box, cut the die in half, and made sure the ends peeked out the top and bottom of the oval.

The last things to do were to tie on a bow, mount on dark green cardstock and mount on my card.

Thanks for looking at my card. I hope you have a happy stamping day!

Your card would be great for a many events! Thanks Joy!

This is lovely! Don't stencils make fabulous backgrounds? I love how you put the flourish behind the oval.
