Beautiful Hummingbird

Hi friends!  It's Holly posting today and I've got a shimmery floral card to share with you.  Be sure to look at the second picture - the close up really shows off the blue shimmery background as well as the shimmer on the flowers and hummingbird.

I used a variety of products from Classy Cards 'n Such to create this card:

You Are Beautiful stamp set (Impression Obsession)
Sophie's Heart Mini Doily die (Cheery Lynn Designs)
Ankara Lace Doily die (Cheery Lynn Designs)
Hummingbird die (Cheery Lynn Designs)
Allison's Ribbons die set (Cheery Lynn Designs)
Shasta Daisy Strip die (Cheery Lynn Designs)
Sweet William Strip die (Cheery Lynn Designs)

I started by cutting a square of white cardstock.  I sprayed it with the Trunk Bay Glimmer Mist and then set it aside to dry.  I then set about cutting out all the other die cut shapes - the hummingbird, the flowers, the doilies, and the ribbon.

I sponged the Sweet William Strip flowers just on the edges with some brown ink and sprayed all of them with the Silk Glimmer Mist.  The Shasta Daisy Strip flowers were sponged very heavily with the brown ink and  sprayed with the same Silk Glimmer Mist.  While I had the Silk mist out, I also sprayed the Hummingbird die cut.  I set all of these aside to dry before I assembled them.

The Ankara Lace Doily was cut with Kraft cardstock cardstock and the sentiment was stamped on the center piece of the doily with some dark brown ink.  This doily was adhered onto the Trunk Bay Glimmer Mist background paper and then I glued the scallop ribbon die cut from Allison's Ribbons just below the sentiment.

With all of the flowers now dry, I set about assembling them by adhering the layers together.  I manipulated the Sweet William petals by pinching them with my fingers and I fluffed all of them up.  Each flower was topped off with a Light Coral Pearl in the center and  glued down around the sentiment on the doily.  I arranged the hummingbird above the doily, fluffed up his wings, and affixed him with Joy Foam Pads.

The lacy pieces in the corners are from the Sophie's Heart Mini Doily.  I cut this doily into 5 sections and affixed four of those sections onto the corners of my Trunk Bay Glimmer Mist background.  This background piece was adhered to a Kraft layer and then adhered to a dark brown card base.

I love how these Glimmer Mists really shimmer and sparkle in the light!  I hope you have enjoyed this little eye candy today.  :-)

Your card is so beautiful! Thanks Holly!!

Birthday Blessings

Hi, it's Karen here today! Today's card is filled with blessings for that special day in some one's life!

There's just something SO soft and sweet about the gorgeous colors of the patterned papers found in the Simple Stories-Vintage Bliss 6x6 paper pad.  I used three different patterns from this lovely collection along with a sticker tab (bottom left) from that same line.   I machine stitched my papers in a matching pink colored thread. For another soft touch, I lightly brushed the edges of my card in white acrylic paint.

Next step was to adhere a small piece from the beautiful Frilly Flourish Swirls - White Pearl.  I placed that in the upper right-hand corner.

I used a two-part sentiment from the Rubz Birthday - Inspirational by My Sentiments Exactly!.  One part of the saying is rubbed onto a journaling block cut with the lovely Spellbinders Labels Eighteen die, which I double matted. The smaller portion of the Happy Birthday sentiment is rubbed onto a small sticker.

Down in the lower left-hand corner, I added a bow made using the Seam Binding - Chalk White and topped that with a few of the lovely Zva Creative paper roses in both Pretty Pink and Soft Blue Transition.

I adhered my paper roses to the card using the AMAZING Scor-Tape. That stuff is truly awesome, and holds things SO well.

All these great Classy Cards 'n Such products came together beautifully to create this simple little card.  I just think the store is CHOCK FULL of gorgeous things to help make your card making and creating SO easy.  Thanks for stopping by today to take a peek.  I hope that you will have a BUNCH of fun browsing through our amazing store.

Henry Takes A Spin

Hi!  It's Misti again!

These cars make me smile every time I see them.  I think they are great for any age guy in your life!  You could also make this card using the Go Granny Go car stamp for a female version found at Classy Cards 'n Such.

Supplies used:
Layering Swatches #2 - I used the Deep Blue

I started out using white cardstock as the base. The next layers are a dark navy with white on top.

From the  Summer Fresh Simple Stories paper pad, I cut part of the plaid sheet to attach to the bottom half of the card.

I dyed the White Satin String with my Vintage Photo marker to make it a little more masculine looking. I attached the string just above the plaid paper to give it a finished look. My guys didn't say a word about it being too girly!  *grin*

Using one of the larger stamps from the Cars - Henry Sparkle 'n Sprinkle, I stamped it on white cardstock. I colored the car with the Tim Holtz Distress markers and blended the colors using a Tim Holtz Water Brush. The water brush really gives you a great way to spread your colors from dark to light tones.

Last step was to layer two panels from the Layering Swatches #2 under the white stamped car panel.

This card was easy to put together by using the colors from the plaid sheet in this paper pad.

So "drive on over" to the Classy Cards 'n Such store and check out all the goodies Beverly has to offer! If you can't find what you're looking for, just email Beverly.

Really a great guy card! Thanks, Misti!

Flowers and Sunshine

Hi there! It's Diane here today  on the Classy Cards 'n Such blog to share with you this gorgeous sunflower card. I love all the wonderful selection of dies we can choose to create with, don't you?

For today's project, I made a 6 x 6 card. Yes! It's a big one, but I wanted to showcase those gorgeous Cheery Lynn Designs Sunflower.

As I mentioned in another post, I LOVE the Twinkling H2Os - Autumn Brilliance set, and that is what I used to color my sunflowers. The H2Os give such a pretty shimmery look to the petals.

Behind the flowers you see a Cheery Lynn Designs Fanciful Flourish. This is one of those dies you will use over and over again.

The background vintage barn board paper is from the 6 x 6 paper pad by Simple Stories - Vintage Bliss 6 x 6 paper pad, and see the little Sunshine bingo card?  It's from the same paper pad!

Here is a close up of the flowers, I wanted you  to see how gorgeous the centers cut!!

A few other items I used in creating my card are:

Empty Spritzer Bottle (you need this to spritz your H2Os)

Thanks for looking and I will see you soon!!

A gorgeous card! Thanks Diane!!

The Lord Goes Before

Today we have another wonderful card from Shelly Newkirk, one of our guest designers at Classy Cards 'n Such. Shelly shows us how she enhanced a computer generated sentiment.

Starting out, I covered a plain white card base with a soft colored designer paper (DP) that had no distinct pattern.

The frame was made using Spellbinders Label 9 die, but any Spellbinders label die would work great as a frame. Tape the die on white card stock with low tack masking tape.

Next place a Spellbinders Oval die inside the label. Tape in place and run through your machine. Do not remove the tape, but place the soft embossing mat under the dies and emboss. You could also place the frame in an embossing folder for a different look.

To give the frame some dimension, turn the frame over and on the back side, I attached pieces of a flat egg carton to create a 3-D effect. This is a great inexpensive way to pop up your die cuts!

The Scripture has been computer generated.  Die cut it using the oval die that is larger than the oval aperture, to hide the edge of the oval.

Sponge the edges of the oval scripture with a Tim Holtz Distressed Ink Pad that will coordinate with the DP that is covering the card base.  In this case it I chose a purple ink to use.

Attach the frame to the Scripture oval.  Center it on the card.

Die cut 2 Anja Leaves 2 by Marianne Creatables and position where desired on frame.

Add several sponged flowers that will coordinate with your DP and ink. Use a Viva Pearl Pen to put lovely centers in the flowers.
It's as easy as that! This is a great way to enhance your computer generated sentiments or art work!!
Great idea Shelly! Thanks!!

Sea Shell Bay

Hi friends!  It's Joy posting today and I'm so excited about being a Guest Designer for Classy Cards 'n Such.  Thank you so much Beverly for allowing me the opportunity!  Take a look at their selection of stamping supplies.  You will be quite surprised at some of the new items!!

Here is a card I made. I used a beautiful stamp from Just Rite Stamps called Sea Shell Bay Labels Twenty-Two.  There are some beautiful stamps and sentiments in this group.  I heat embossed it using Antiquities Embossing Powder . I added some Chalk White -Seam Binding that I dyed brown. (P.S. You will love the price of this seam binding).  The little tool called Bow-Easy makes tying triple bows super easy - this is a tool that is small and stays out on my crafting table.  The Spellbinders Die I used is called Labels Twenty-Two.

Thank you for looking at my card - please go by Classy Cards 'n Such - take a look at their great supplies!

Recap of Supplies:

Have a HAPPY stamping day!

A beautiful card, Joy!
