The Garden Gate

It is Shirley posting today.  I hope you all are having some decent weather.  The recent snow accumulations on the East Coast have been terrible.  I have made a card that will remind us that Spring is around the next corner or the next one.

I started my card with a chocolate card base; then I added a layer of teal and a layer of designer paper.  I adhered these pieces together.

I found this gate in my stash that had been sent to me by a friend that was waiting to be used.  I embossed it with an embossing folder to add some texture to it and added a piece of teal card stock behind it.  I used the Heartfelt Creations Birds and Blooms stamp set to stamp the branch with the pretty blooms.

I stamped six extra blooms so I could layer them over the other ones for more dimension.  I colored branch and flowers with markers.  I used the McGill Blossoms Paper Tool Kit to shape my flowers.  I adhered the branch to the gate and added the extra blooms.  I used Flower Soft for the centers.

I used the Willoughby Butterfly Wings die to cut a chocolate and teal butterfly.   I layered them and attached them to the card and added silver beads

I used the Our Daily Bread Designs Ornate Border Sentiments on white card stock. I sponged around the sentiment with a blue/teal colored ink. I used my oval punches to punch it out and also to make a shadow for it.

Thanks for joining us today.   I hope we see you again tomorrow!
