Pop! Goes the Dahlia

Hello Friends!

It's Diane today, with a bloom I plucked out of my paper garden of colors!

This week at Classy Cards 'n Such our challenge is to use a Susan's Garden flower die by Sizzix.  Now, the only challenge for me was deciding which one to use!  Being the gardener I am, I seem to have acquired quite a collection of them. After much debate, I chose the Dahlia. I grow these gorgeous flowers myself and one of the best things about them, besides their beauty, are all the colors they bloom in!

To start my card, I used a paper called Banana Split - Pop Tone. I had been searching for a pretty, high quality yellow card stock and this one is it!!

My next layer was made using the Polynesian Sails Doily Angel Wing. I embossed it with a gorgeous, new in store,  Matelasse embossing folder from Anna Griffin. On top of that, my next layer is the Polynesian Sails Oval die. Cheery Lynn Designs dies are on sale right now. Hurry and get yours before they are gone!

My Dahlia was made with the same Banana Split - Pop Tone paper. I bet you couldn't tell, could you?

I used PanPastels Flower Coloring Kit - Susan's Garden, applied with Sofft Covers Point No. 4, to give my Dahlia the yellow/orange tones you see. In making these flowers, I used some very handy tools. Susan's Garden Tool Kit is a must have for making any kind of flowers, a wonderful investment!

Last is my little butterfly, made with a just purchased Joy Craft die called Butterfly Trio.

I hope you have enjoyed my post today.  I am looking forward to seeing your entry in the Susan's Garden flower challenge!

Your card just blooms with color! Thanks Diane!
