A Glittery Thank You

Hello, it's Shirley today! Wow, it is so hard to believe the New Year is here. December just flew by so fast, I could almost hear "whoosh" as it went by.  I hope all of you had a wonderful Christmas.

I made a thank you card for the challenge this week. I am sure everyone has a thank you card to send out for a Christmas gift or two.

I started making my card using a white card base. I cut a layer of  white card stock  and a piece glitter designer paper from my stash for the next layer. I used the Spellbinders  Large Classic Scalloped Ovals to cut an oval, from the designer paper. I attached it to the white card stock and to the card base.

I cut two Memory Box Tall Chloe Stems from Silver glitter paper. I attached them to my card with Art Institute Clear Adhesive. I used the Impression Obsession Greeting Set to cut 'Thanks' from gold glitter paper. I used a small heart punch to punch a silver heart to layer on black hearts that were punched with the same punch. I chose to use the black hearts so make the silver heart show up better.  I used glittered ribbon to tie a bow and then attached the hearts.

Music Shaker Card

Diana here today... Did you get something good for Christmas?   The challenge this week is to use something new.

I actually got this die a month ago but haven't gotten a chance to use it so it's new to me!  I'm combining a couple of techniques here for a very fun card:  in-laid die-cutting and a shaker card.

The first thing I did was use the large stitched rectangle in MFT Blueprint 13.  I then die-cut a smaller rectangle using a die from Spellbinders A2 Matting Basics A.

After removing the rectangle, I placed the Memory Box Virtuoso Music where I wanted to go inside the opening, making sure it went over the edge of the opening. Make sure you keep the extra little pieces to glue back in!

I then die-cut the same music from both black and white card stock. I cut a piece of acetate, ( I used the packaging from my Spellbinder dies), bigger than the opening. To make sure my shaker card will hold up being handled and not fall apart, I used Scor-tape, (my favorite strong adhesive), to adhere the acetate to the back of front panel. I then glued the black music die-cut back into the front and then the white just a bit off on top of the black for a shadow effect.

I then glued the black music die cut back into the front and then the white just a bit off on top of the black for a shadow effect. After everything dried, I flipped it over, added large foam pads all around the opening, added a variety of bling, and then sealed it with a sheet of card stock that I had colored with Distress Stains in Picked RaspberryPeacock Feathers, and Broken China.

Hope you like it and get a chance to try your hand at one!

There are new dies, stamps and stencils in the shop this week along with lots of other new additions!   You can see everything here.

Glitter and Bling

Hi, Joy today showing you a card I made for the new challenge at Classy Cards 'n Such.  Our challenge was to use something new and add some bling or glitter - that's an easy one for me.  I like to add bling and glitter to EVERYTHING!

For my new, it was Our Daily Bread's Pennant Swag 2 stamp set. I glittered the edges of a rectangle and a small strip of some Graphic 45's By the Sea paper pad with Sparkle 'n Sprinkle's Crystal Ice.

Using the Blueprints 13 die,  I cut a card base from some blue paper from Graphic 45's Botanical Tea,and stamped the Pennant Swag 2 and sentiment from Hugs and Kisses by JustRite. Next I added the little heart stamp from Hugs and Kisses.

Lastly I added 3 Silver Rhinestones by Want to Scrap. These are on sale at an incredible price - check them out at the Classy Cards 'n Such on line store.

We such would enjoy seeing what you create.  Be sure to join in the fun at Classy Cards 'n Such.  Thanks for looking at my card.  Have a HAPPY stamping day!

Winter Blooms

Hi, it's Jenny posting today.  Have you seen the new challenge inspiration photo?  I was so inspired to use something new and re-create my version of the beautiful photo.

I first cut my Memory Box Vintage Apothacary Jar die with white card stock. I covered it with Versamark ink and Stampendous Frantage embossing powder and heated with a heat tool.  I embossed the vase three times sprinkling and blending different colors of the Frantage embossing powder.  I was hoping to really coat the paper to make the jar look like mercury glass. After I achieved the color combination I wanted, I added a thick layer of Tim Holtz Distress Rock Candy Crackle paint over the Frantage layer.  The jar die cut is quite thick and sparkly and looks like cracked glass.

While the jar die cut was drying I cut the branches out of two different Memory Box dies.  I colored them with distress ink and added a bit of the crackle paint to the edges to resemble ice.  I also added a bit of clear Stickles.

The snowflakes were cut using the Impression Obsession Small Snowflakes die.  They were cut out of a pretty blue paper that picked up the color of the blue glitter in the Frantage Embossing powder.  I used only the two smallest snowflake dies in the set and covered the snowflakes in clear Stickles. After gluing the snowflakes, I added different colors and sizes of Rhinestones and Baby Pearls to the branches to mimic the ornaments in the inspiration photo.

Last (but I really should have done this first), I sprayed my brand new irresistible white dimensional spray around the arrangement, making sure to cover the stacked blue and brown card stock layers on the sides.  I wanted to make a clean and simple card but without the dots of spray, the card seemed to need something else.

I used Joy! Foam pads to attach the vase to the paper and again on the back of the top card layer to give the card more dimension.

New Every Morning

Hello, it's Gracie today! This week at Classy Cards 'n Such we have a challenge that we'd like you to join: Time For A "New Year" - Use something new you just received and add some glitter and/or bling. I have been blessed recently with many new goodies, so I used some of them to make my card for today, and I also added some sparkle for the challenge!

I started out by die cutting my card base with Spellbinders A2 Matting Basics A. Then I added a patterned paper layer die cut with Our Daily Bread Designs Flourished Star Pattern set, that I adhered with 1/2" Scor-Tape.

I created a central border with two individual borders die cut with Our Daily Bread Designs Beautiful Borders. Next I added a flourish oval cut from Echo - Bronze Stardream Metallic using Spellbinders Elegant Ovals. I also used the same set to die cut a smaller oval on which I stamped a sentiment from Our Daily Bread Designs' stamp set Glory.

I thought I'd add a nice metallic detail to the card with this Village Lamp Post from PoppyStamps die, cut from Precious Metals Craft Foil by Spellbinders, (using the silver back of the foil). I used a piece of 8 1/2" x 11" Double sided adhesive sheet to stick some Sparkle 'n Sprinkle Crystal Ice glitter for the lampost's lights. I added the lampost to the side of the ovals and finished my design with a few Silver Baby Rhinestones.

I hope you enjoyed today's post and of course I couldn't leave without wishing you all a great 2015! May this new year bring many blessings to you and yours!

Thank you for visiting us today!
