Bold Dot Tape Card

Hi, it's Holly posting today!

Sometimes you just gotta break out of your stamping rut and go with different colors, different patterns, or different layouts to recharge your creativity.  That's what I did with this bold and dotty card.

I pulled out the Trendy Tapes that I had bought from Classy Cards 'n Such, and I picked out the ones with the polka dots on them. I started with a white card base and laid down a strip of the Polka Dot Pink Trendy Tape on the right side. Next to that, I laid down some Polka Dot Green Trendy Tape.  Next I pulled out the Polka Dot Black Trendy Tape and put a strip down at the bottom of the card, crossing over the green and pink tapes that I had already laid down. I followed up with another strip of the Polka Dot Pink Trendy Tape above the black tape.

I pulled out the Happy Birthday stamp set by Stampavie, and stamped the birthday sentiment with black ink in the white space next to the washi tapes.

The flowers were cut from the Miniature Rose, the Medium Rose, and the Large Rose dies from Cheery Lynn Designs.  I gave the flower petals some texture and dimension by using tweezers from the Paper Blossoms Tool Kit to curl the edges up.  Once the flowers were assembled, I used some small black brads in the centers of the flowers to hold them together.  I then glued the flowers down onto the card.

I love the bright colors and the polka dot patterns on this card.  The use of white space really helps the washi tapes stand out.  I hope you've enjoyed this bold and fun card today!

A bright and cheerful way to send greetings! Thanks Holly!

So Sweet

Hello Classy Friends, Diane with you today!

I had so much with this card. I pulled out my Memory Box Star Dust stencil and Dreamweaver Translucent embossing paste. I added a bit of Tim Holtz Pink Sherbet Alcohol Ink to the paste, mixing and applying it with my Palette Knife. I love the soft look it gives to my background!

The flowers are a Memory Box Blushing Bouquet die,
which I cut twice so I could stack the flowers. My flowers were painted with Twinkling H2Os using  the colors
Luv-u-pink, Dreams Bloom and Lucky Apple from the Think Pink set, and Chiffon Pink from the Springtime set.

To the center of the flowers, I added Sage Green pearls.

The sentiment is from JustRite Just The Right Words.

From a previous card I did I had a piece of the Heavyweight Vellum card stock sitting out, so cut 2 of the Joy! Crafts Butterflies. I love the soft look of the butterflies!
Don't forget, we have a weekly challenge we would love for you to enter!

Your card is so pretty and fits lots of themes! Thanks Diane!

Watercolored Twinks

Hi folks, it's Holly posting today.  This card has been percolating in my head for several weeks.  There's been an explosion of watercoloring on cards lately, and I just had to see how this would turn out.

I actually pulled out my Twinkling H2O's and experimented with my brush strokes until I got a background that I liked.  I used the Twinkling H2O's from the Carnivale set - Mandarine Citrine, Orange Peel, Deep Coral, and Mediterranean Blue.  I swiped on large swaths of color of the yellow, orange, and coral paints, and then I flicked the blue paint over the whole thing.  I love the blue spots! Look at that gorgeous shimmer!!

Once my piece was completely dry, I stamped the sentiment from the Celebrate set (Stampavie).

I added a Memory Box Tall Chloe Stem die cut, from black cardstock directly over the painted background.  It really stands out against the swaths of paint.

Finally, I cut the scallop border from the My Favorite Things Blueprints 4 die set, and added the border to the left side of the watercolored piece before adhering them to a turquoise card base.

Isn't that a fun piece??  Pull out your Twinkling H2O's and make your own watercolored backgrounds!  No two pieces will be alike and you will have tons of shimmery fun!

So much twinkle and shimmer on your card! Thanks Holly!
