Birthday Surprise

Hello friends, it's Joy today posting a card using supplies from Classy Cards 'n Such.  The challenge for this week was to use this inspirational photo.

I know 4th of July is almost here, but I had a deadline on a birthday coming up so I made a birthday card instead of a holiday themed card.

This card was so easy to make! Here's how I put it together:

Stamp  the bike from Riding Pretty by Impression Obsession on card stock.

Die cut the following:
One Allison's Ribbon by Cheery Lynn Designs
Sentiment from Happy Birthday Background by PoppyStamps
The stamped bike using the Bicycle Die set by Impression Obsession.

Layer the ribbon trim on a piece of designer paper. Glue the Happy Birthday sentiment on the card front, color the bike with a few Tim Holtz distress markers and then pop it up on the card with the small Joy Foam Pads.

Be sure to check out Classy Cards 'n Such for all these, and many more supplies.Thank you for looking at my card, have a happy stamping day!

I'll leave you with a picture of me putting together the bike that I will put with the Happy Birthday card. I must say the card was a lot easier than the bike!

Thank you for looking at my card, have a happy stamping day!

Love the card with cute hint to the present! Thanks Joy!

Stars and Stripes

Welcome to Diana, our new design team member. Diana takes on this weeks challenge, celebrating a milestone in her life.

One of the Lord's biggest blessing in my life has been to make me a first generation American.  Our family is one of many that left from Vietnam by boat, and I am truly grateful to be living here in the land of the brave and free.

So this abbreviated verse is perfect for my stars and stripe card based on Classy Cards 'n Such Inspiration challenge photo. It's also a wonderful blessing for all who have served or are serving our country.

I'm still playing with my embossing paste and stencils. This time, I used white Dreamweaver Regular Embossing Paste with my Texture Wave stencil.  After I removed the stencil and while the paste was still wet, I poured Silver Fine Detail embossing powder over my paste.  I then tapped off the excess and waited 15 minutes or so, for the paste to dry a bit and then used my heat gun to melt the embossing powder.  It gave the embossed powder some extra dimension.

I then used my Spellbinders A2 Matting Basics A to cut out a section of my waves (calling it stripes here to go with my theme).  The A2 Matting Basics A is great for seeing the exact section you want to cut out without wasting (I used to just trim until I got it right - which is sometimes smaller than what I wanted!).

I die cut some stars out of blue and red cardstock and popped those up on foam and dimensional tape.

Hope you find new ways to play with your embossing paste!

Great inspirational story for your card. Thanks Diana!

Flowers In A Cup

Hello Classy Friends, Diane here with you today! This week our challenge is Red, White and Blue, using the inspiration photo below.

I sure gave this challenge a lot of thought and ended up doing nothing I had planned!

I decided to use Spellbinders Decorative Labels Eight in a "stacking" effect. I cut the larger die from Bo Bunny Soft Shades Double Delight paper.

I cut the next size from white card stock and stamped Inky Antics, Daisy Bouquet stamp set. After coloring with my Copics, I added Stickles to the flower centers and Wink of Stella  and Stardust Gelly Roll Pen to all the flower petals and leaves.

I used large Joy! Craft foam pads to mount my image on the larger die cut. I felt it still need something besides the bow, and added a few tiny blue birds using Impression Obsession Small Bird set.

I invite YOU to join in our challenge this week. Beverly always offers a great prize with 7 or more players. We would love to see YOUR project!

Your card is so pretty! Thanks Diane!
