Silky and Fabulous

Hi, Diane here with you today on the Classy Cards 'n Such blog!

A few weeks ago, Beverly added a beautiful new line of paper to her store called So... Silk Fabulous Purple.  Let me tell you, this paper is FABULOUS!! It's made with silk fibers and has such a silky, smooth feel to it.  I loved working with it!

I started by using the paper for my card base.  I added a white embossed panel using the Dots embossing folder by Crafts Too.

To add interest to the panel, I used the NEW just released Cherry Lynn Designs Fancy Corner Cuts #1. Aren't they pretty??  There are four different sets to choose from!!

I then cut Cheery Lynn Designs Mesh Border, cutting it from the same gorgeous So... Silk Fabulous Purple paper.  I just cut it down to fit my panel.

On top, I added the beautiful die from Memory Box, Quinn Flourish.

I made my roses using Cheery Lynn Designs Rose, miniature die. They are colored with PanPastels Flower Coloring Kit - Susan's Garden using the color Violet, giving the roses a soft, real look!

I tucked in a bit of greenery using Cheery Lynn Designs die Wreath Strip.

Adding a purple sheer bow completed my card.

Thank you for visiting with me today!

Your card is really pretty! Thanks Diane!

Shabby Glitter Flowers

Hi, it's Holly posting today!  I've got a fun, shabby-chic, vintage, distressed card to share with y'all.

I've been playing with the new stencils in the store, and let me tell you, they are SO much fun!  For my card today, I pulled out the Textured Mesh stencil and some Silk Glimmer Mist and started spraying. I laid the Textured Mesh stencil down over some vanilla cardstock and then lightly sprayed over it with the Silk Glimmer Mist.

If you spray too much, you get a puddle of glimmer mist that runs together underneath the stencil. It actually took me three tries to develop my light handedness for this.  So don't get frustrated if your first few tries look messy. Keep on trying!

While the Glimmer Mist was drying, I cut out the Zinnia Bouquet from white cardstock. I colored the stems and leaves with green Copic markers, and the flower petals with a pink/mauve Copic marker. I then cut out the Zinnia Bouquet Background pieces from 6" x 6" Double Sided Adhesive Scor-Tape sheets. I carefully removed the liner from each Zinnia background piece and matched them up with the flower heads from the Copic-colored bouquet.   After all three background pieces were adhered, I covered the flowers with Carnation glitter. I used the Glitter Roll Technique from Technique Junkies to ensure the glitter was adhered very well, and then I brushed off the excess.

After the Glimmer Mist was dry on my stenciled piece, I sponged some Kraft ink around the edges and then used a distress tool to rough up all the edges.  I also used the distress tool on the green layer.  I adhered the stenciled piece to the green layer and then adhered it to a Kraft card base.

I carefully peeled the liner from the back of the double-sided adhesive flowers and pressed the flowers down onto my stenciled background.  I added some glue to the leaves and stems and pressed those down into place.

Lastly, I tied some Chalk White Seam Binding into a bow and glued that down onto my flower bouquet.

Your card is so pretty and glittery! Thanks Holly!

Vintage Dahlias

Hi, it's Misti with this week's Vintage Hues challenge card. I took the photo pretty literal and used a flower, and some of the same colors for my inspiration.

I stamped my image from the Dahlias stamp set by Flourishes on my white piece of cardstock.

I used Tim Holtz Distress Ink Marker colors of Broken ChinaPeeled Paint, and Spun Sugar with the Detail Water Brush.

I cut a piece of pink paper from the Bo Bunny Double-Dot Designs paper to use as an accent.

I pulled out the Blueprints 3 from My Favorite Things to create a scallop edge on Kraft paper.  While I had out the Blueprints 3, I cut out a few circles for accents with the smaller circles. Voila! Custom accents!

Hope you'll join us this week with your card inspired by the beautiful Design Seeds example!

The vintage look to your card is wonderful! Thanks Misti!

Hello, My Friend!

Hi! Joy here, letting you know about a Classy Cards n Such Inspiration Challenge.  Here is our inspiration.

And here is my card:

This was made using the Honeycomb die to cut out octagons from a paper pad called Lady Rose, and some scrap paper. They were cut out, glued down while the frame was temporarily taped onto the front of a card.  After they were in place, the frame was lifted up and they were lined up perfectly!

The little flowers are from the Cherry Lynn die called Build a Flower #1. The leaves are Build a Flower #1 Petals and LeavesThe border is Allison's Ribbons.

The stamp is from Our Daily Bread Designs and is called Ornate Frame Sentiments. In this set, there is a great variety of stamps from Happy Birthday to God Bless You.

It would be so much fun for us if you would join in the challenge. Make a project using these colors and post it on Beverly's blog.  Be sure to read all the specifics of the challenge on her blog.

Vintage Hues

Hello my Classy Cards 'n Such friends! It's Diane posting today.  We have a fun, and pretty, challenge for you this week using the gorgeous Inspiration Photo from Design Seeds below.

I designed my card with two of my newest dies in mind. As soon as I saw these dies I asked Beverly to order them for me. She has both in stock right now, so don't miss out!! Oh wait, I bet you want to know what I am talking about right??

The first die is what I used for my base to build on.  It's called Billie's Circle by Joy Crafts. I have a love for lattice dies, so intricate and detailed, and this one has both...beautiful!!

The second die is also a Joy Crafts called Ribbons and Bows. This in an interesting die, as you could weave ribbon through it if you wanted to, or do as I did, and just lay a piece under the die for a contrast!

I added a flower I made with a Cheery Lynn Designs die Judy's Blooms. Right now ALL Cheery Lynn Designs dies are on sale at Classy Cards 'n Such!

I colored my flower with Susan's Gardens PanPastels Flowering Coloring Kit, using the colors Magenta and Permanent Red. Using Art Institute Dries Clear Adhesive I sprinkled a tiny bit of Sparkle 'n Sprinkle Crystal Ice glitter on for some added texture!

A few foliage embellishments were added to the flower, using Marianne die Anja Leaves 2, and Cheery Lynn Designs Olive Branches.

That's it for today! I hope you enjoyed today's post and will join us in our challenge for this week.  Don't forget, next week our challenge will be a handmade flower from the Susan's Garden collection. Need one?  You may purchase one here There is still time!  I can't wait to see your creations!!

Your card is so lovely! Thanks Diane!
