Christmas Holly Flourish card

Hi Classy Friends!  It's Holly posting today.  How are you coming along with your Christmas cards?  I haven't mailed mine out yet, but it's getting down to the wire where I should start addressing my envelopes.  Here's another card to share with you before I send it out to a dear friend.

For this card, I have used the following items from Classy Cards 'n Such:

French Pastry Doily die (Cheery Lynn Designs)
Lace Corner Deco F die (Cheery Lynn Designs)
Holly Lace Flourish die (Cheery Lynn Designs)
Christmas Sentiments stamp set (Impression Obsession) - stamped on the inside of my card

I built this card from the bottom up, so let me take you through the process.  I started with a vanilla card base (8.5" x 5.5", folded in half), and then I added a sheet of paper from the Handmade Holiday paper pad.  I die cut the French Doily from burgundy cardstock and added that to the left side of my card.  Then I die cut the Lace Corner from the same burgundy cardstock and added that to the bottom right of my card.

A tan colored strip of paper from the same Handmade Holiday pad was added over the doily at a slight diagonal.  The Holly Flourish was die cut from vanilla cardstock and I snipped the various branches and flourishes so I could rearrange them to fit around my sentiment.  The sentiment is a piece that I cut from one of the papers in the Handmade Holiday pad.  A white pearl was affixed to the lace corner die cut and some seam binding was tied around the card on the left side.  The inside of my card is stamped with one of the Christmas Sentiments stamps in a burgundy ink.

It was a lot of fun to build this card from the ground up by layering and adding various papers and die cuts.  This is a great way to use non-holiday dies on a holiday card like I did here with the doily and the lace corner piece.  :-)
Thanks, Holly!

Noel Christmas card

Hi, it's Holly here with another Christmas card to share with y'all today.  All of the dies and the pearls on this card are from Classy Cards 'n Such:

Baby Pearls - White (Want2Scrap)

Noel Christmas card

My card is larger than the normal A2-sized cards I've been making.  This is a 5x7 inch card and it works beautifully to give me the extra room I need for the corner dies at the top and the sentiment at the bottom.  I started by adhering some paper to the upper part of the card base, some celery cardstock to the lower part and then adding a strip of white cardstock where the two background papers meet.  I die cut the French Lily Corner from white cardstock two times and adhered the die cuts to the two upper corners of my card.

The Grand Gothic Window and the Intersecting Arch dies were cut with white cardstock and adhered together.  I used the gorgeous Stained Glass Stickles technique from Technique Junkies to add some glittery white and blue window panes to my Gothic Window.  Once it was dry, I adhered the window to my card and added some White Baby Pearls to the window and to the French Lily Corners.  The last thing I did was cut some letters from the Parker Lower Alphabet die to spell out "noel" and affixed them below the window.

I confess, it's going to be hard to give this card away.  I love the way this one turned out.  The glitter, the pearls, the die cuts, the colors...... ahhhhhhhhhh.  Maybe this one should stay on my mantel for a little while???  :-)
Beautiful!

Wreath with Birdhouse

Good morning! Steph here with an awesome stamp from Stampavie appropriately named  Wreath with Birdhouse.   It was the perfect element to accent this lamp post that I have had for ages!!!!  Due to the size of the lamp post, I created a 3 1/2" x 9" card.

I stamped the image on Cryogen White Cardstock, and then colored it with an assortment of Tim Holtz Distress Markers.

Using Joy Foam Adhesives behind the wreath, I applied it on top of the lamp post for dimension. With the wide variety of papers available in the Simple Stories Handmade Holidays paper pack, I was able to find the perfect sentiment to cut out and use on this card.
I love the wreath and birdhouse!

Poinsettia Christmas card

Hello everyone!  It's Linda posting today.  It's been awhile, but I'm back with a very clean and simple Christmas card that takes very little time to put together.   I used some glitter paper I had in my stash and cut it with the Spellbinders Layered Poinsettia die.  I used the Emerald cardstock to cut the Poinsettia leaves and also added some of the Cheery Lynn Pine Branches under the flower.  I used the McGill Paper Blossoms Tool Kit and Mat to add some veins and dimension to the Poinsettia leaves.  I then layered the flower together and used the Gold Viva Décor Pen to make the center of the flower.  The white mat was cut from White Pearl Linen Cardstock and adhered to the red mat with Scor-Tape.

The greeting is the Art Impressions Merry Christmas Stamp.  I stamped it with VersaMark ink and then embossed it with Sparkle & Sprinkle Firecracker Embossing Powder.  That's all there is to it, and you have a card that anyone would like to receive for Christmas!
Gorgeous, Linda!!

Embossing powder and glitter are 15% off through December 13th!   Details are here.

Thanks for stopping by!!!  Until next time...

Snowman Family in the Window

Hi, it's Holly posting today, and I've got another adorable Stampavie Christmas card to share with you.  This time I've used the darling Snowman Family stamp and created a sweet little window scene with it.

These are the products from Classy Cards 'n Such that I have used:

Snowman Family stamp (Stampavie)
Holly Leaves die (Cheery Lynn Designs)

For my card, I started by cutting the Grand Madison Window from white cardstock.  Then I stamped the Snowman Family with black ink onto smooth white cardstock and colored it with Copic markers.  The tiny little red berries on the snow-dad's hat were filled in with the Red Viva Decor pearl pen.  After the berries were dry, I trimmed the image so it would fit inside the window, and then I adhered it to the back of the window die cut.

I pulled out the Holly Leaves die and cut some green leaves and adhered them to the bottom of the window.  Three red rhinestones were affixed to the center of the two holly leaves.  My card base is white cardstock upon which I've done the Faux Painted Paneling technique from Technique Junkies.  The window scene was adhered to the center of my card base.

Isn't that the sweetest little snowman family?  I had fun coloring this one in non-traditional and uncoordinating Christmas colors.  It would be fun to do some more cards like this but have them colored all in red or maybe in green/red/gold or maybe in blues and silvers.  Just think of all the fun possibilities!
Thanks, Holly!

Celebrate Christmas

Good morning! Steph here with a quick and easy Christmas card using the awesome papers found in the Simple Stories Handmade Holidays paper pad.

I created a 5 1/2" x 5 1/2" square card from green cardstock, then selected papers from Simple Stories Handmade Holidays paper pad to create the card. The base was one sheet of paper. Several sheets had elements you could cut apart, so I cut out the elements I wanted and matted each with green cardstock before adhering to the card.

The sentiment is from JustRite Stampers Topsy Turvy Cakes. While this is a birthday stamp set, you can easily take one or more of the stamps and create different themed cards.

I used a number of Christmas Green pearls from Want2Scrap which were the perfect color for this card. Some beautiful Red Satin String was a perfect finishing touch and I tied it around the background paper before adhering it to the card. To create the dimension on the top layer, I used Joy Foam Adhesives.

Thanks, Steph!

Peace Ornament

It's Holly here, and I am sharing this Christmas ornament with you today.  I love making Christmas ornaments, and this one is so easy with these great products from Classy Cards 'n Such.  For easy reference, here are the items I used:

Heirloom Ornament 2011 die (Spellbinders)
Festive Berries distress ink pad (part of the Winter 2011 ink collection) - these are on sale!!  :-)
Holly Leaves die (Cheery Lynn Designs)
Anastasia border die (Cheery Lynn Designs)

I started by cutting a piece of the Handmade Holiday paper with the largest ornament die, and I cut another piece from cardstock.  I glued the paper die to the cardstock die just to give it a little strength.  Using a handheld hole punch, I punched a hole at the top and threaded some seam binding through and tied it in a knot.

Next, I die cut the letters and the Anastasia border two times from white cardstock.  I adhered the letters to a strip of green cardstock and set it aside.  I cut a strip of white cardstock to layer behind my green strip, but since I wanted it to be red, I smooshed my Festive Berries ink pad all over the white cardstock.  Once this was dry, I adhered the green strip to my now-red strip, and then I adhered the white Anastasia borders to the top and bottom edges behind the entire strip.  I placed this strip onto my ornament and cut away the excess on each side and glued it down onto my ornament.

The last thing I did was die cut the holly leaves, adhered them near the top of the ornament, and placed a single red pearl in the center of the leaves.  This ornament turned out just like I envisioned it!  Love it when that happens!

It just occurred to me that you could make this same ornament but personalize it for the person you're giving it to.  Put that person's name in place of "PEACE" or even the last name of the family you're gifting it to - wouldn't that be a wonderful gift?  Happy Holidays!!
What a neat gift idea or for your own tree!  Thanks, Holly!

McGill tools are on sale this week!  You can see all of the details here.

Swirl Baubles in Green

Hello everyone!  It's Linda back again with a Christmas card this time.  Last Christmas I made a card using the Crafts Too Swirl Baubles Embossing Folder and the colors red  and white.  This year Beverly asked me to do another card using the same folder but changing the colors to see how that would look. I decided to see how the card would look made up in green.

For the card base, I used Pearlized Esse White Metallic cardstock.  I added a mat of Stardream Emerald green cardstock adhered with Scor-Tape.  I embossed the Swirl Baubles Embossing Folder on another piece of the white  cardstock and matted it with the green cardstock.

I randomly placed green rhinestones from Want2Scrap on the embossed ornaments.  I added a gold Merry Christmas outline sticker.  The top layer of mats was popped up on pop dots to add some dimension to the card.  This is a very simple and easy card to make and goes together very quickly.  As I did with this card, you can choose any color and totally change the look of the card.

Here is Linda's original card.   Click here to go to her blog post.

Thanks, Linda!  This is such a classy card, yet quick and easy to make!!

Waiting for Christmas

Good morning!  Steph here with an adorable Christmas stamp from Stampavie. It's called Waiting for Christmas. The cat looks adorable perched on the ornament checking out that unsuspecting mouse below. I stamped the image on Cryogen white cardstock then colored it with Copic markers.

I created a 5 1/2" x 5 1/2" square card using Stardream Jupiter Metallic Cardstock which is a beautiful shimmery and great quality cardstock. Using papers from Bo Bunny Mistletoe Collection, I cut the chevron paper 5" x 5", and lightly inked the edges with brown ink. The green dot paper was then used for a little contrast, inked with brown ink, and matted on a leftover strip of Stardream Jupiter Metallic Cardstock. I tied some May Arts ribbon around this piece before adhering it to the card front.

The image was cut to size, inked with brown ink and matted with brown cardstock and adhered to the card front with Joy Foam adhesives.

This cute stamp is perfect for upcoming Christmas cards, don't you think?
Such a cute kitten!  Thanks, Steph!

Peaceful Deer & Black Friday winner!!!

It's Holly posting today, and I'm on a roll with Christmas cards again.  This time I've gone very clean and simple with this Peaceful Deer card.

I cut out the Deer Trio and the Star of Wonder from white cardstock  and adhered them to a 3.75" x 5"layer of navy cardstock.  I stamped the sentiment from the Christmas Sentiments stamp set (Impression Obsession) below the deer with navy ink.  This navy layer was adhered to a white layer, 4" x 5.25", and then these were adhered to an A2 navy card base (4.25" x 5.5").

This card is perfect for when you need a lot of cards.  Have an assembly line going with the die cutting, the stamping, and the glueing and you'll have a pile of these cards in no time.  I kept mine free from bulky embellishments so this will go in the mail with just one postage stamp.  You could add some glitter or some rhinestones or some pearls to jazz this up.
Absolutely beautiful, Holly!  Thanks!

Penguin Treat Bag with Tutorial

Good morning, Steph here. Did you know that some of the new Stampavie Christmas stamps can be used for projects other than a card? These images are a little larger and lend themselves perfectly for place settings or candy bags for someone special on your Christmas list. Isn't this Penguin just the cutest you've ever seen?

Cut cardstock 3 1/2" x 10".
Score at 4", 4 1/2", 5" and 9".
Accordion fold on the first 3 score lines and fold on the last one.

Cut pattern paper from the Bo Bunny Mistletoe Collection to fit the front of the bag and the flap and then adhere.

Line up a Spellbinders oval die in the center of the front and die cut through the two layers.

Stamp the Penguin on Cryogen white cardstock, my cardstock of choice when using Copic markers. Color the image with Copic Markers - several shades of red for the hat and candy cane, yellow-red for his beak and feet and then C3, C5 and C7 to color his fur.

Fill a cellophane bag with peppermints.

Punch two holes through all layers (including the cellophane bag) and tie with
Twine.   Twine and more are on sale this week!  Click here for the coupon code and details.

Adhere the Penguin to the bag with Joy foam adhesives, being sure not to adhere it to the flap. The accordion bottom allows the candy bag to stand on it's own, so why not make several of these for friends and family this holiday season?

I also made another candy treat bag using this cute Mouse with Stocking.

I love these little bags!   Thanks, Steph!!

The drawing for a $75 shopping spree at Classy Cards ends at midnight, Sunday night.  Click here for details on entering!  YOU could be the winner!!!

Little Winter Bear

Hello everyone. It's Jenn and I'm back with another Christmas card.  I've used lots of fun products from the Classy Card 'n Such store.

I started with a 5.5 x 5.5 base of Stardream Emerald. To that I added a piece of the snowflake paper from the Bo Bunny Rejoice Collection.

Using Stardream Emerald and the Snowflake Corner Die from Memory Box, I die cut my corner embellishment.

Using Spellbinders Lacey Circles and vanilla paper, I die cut a circle to stamp the Little Winter Bear on. I colored him up with Copic markers. Once I had Little Winter Bear colored, I added some pearl accents using Viva Decor Pearl Pens. I used Ice White for the knots in his scarf. Using Green, I added pearl drops to the inside of the circle. Then using Red, I added pearl drops to the outer rings of the circle.

For finishing touches, I stamped and die cut a banner to stamp my sentiment on. Using large foam pads for added dimension I adhered it to the card.
Thanks, Jenn!   He's so cute!!

We've recently added quite a few of these darling Stampavie stamps to the Classy Cards shop.   These would be great for the young crafters on you list!  Perfect for the young and young at heart!!  You can see them all here.

Thanks for stopping by!!!  Until next time...
