Antique Tulips

Hi, it's Misti, to share a card with you today.

One of my boys ran into the house this afternoon, so excited about the yellow flowers he had seen.  "Come quick, Mom" he said, as if he was afraid they would be gone when we got back out there.

I followed him out the door and noticed he could barely contain his grins.  I was running outside to see... dandelions!  After the winter we've had, I was ready to see signs of spring, even if it meant seeing dandelions! I used the yellow as inspiration for my card today, a much prettier spring flower in my opinion!

I started my card with a stencil from Memory Box.  I've just started using stencils and ordered a background stencil hoping it would be an easy one to start with. This one is called Texture Tessatina.  I used a sponge and a yellow dye ink pad.  It was so easy to use, it covered really well and cleaned up very easily.   I know that more stencils will be on my next order.

I pulled out the Key to My Heart 12 x 12 paper and used the script background page.  After playing with it a little bit, I decided I liked the stencil background showing the most and just a little of the script paper.

I used the vase of tulips from Tulips for Friends by Flourishes as my main image.  I colored it with a yellow marker to match the stenciled background, Peeled Paint and Antique Linen Distress Ink markers with the Detailed Water Brush. I added Black Pearls on opposite corners to finish this off.

If you haven't tried any of the stencils yet, I hope this motivates you to give them a try.  There is a nice selection of stencils in the Classy Cards 'n Such store.

Your card is great for many celebrations! Thanks Misti!

Turquoise Butterflies

Hi Classy friends!  It's Holly posting today, and I've got a bright and happy card to share with y'all.

I was in the mood for a fun and whimsical card, so I pulled out some papers from the Prairie Chic 6x6 pad and paired them with some of the washi tapes in the store.  I cut the papers into small strips, and I started by adhering one strip at a diagonal on some Kraft cardstock.  Next, I applied a line of Polka Dot Green trendy tape above the strip of paper.  I followed that up with a strip of the yellow gingham paper, a strip of Polka Dot Pink trendy tape, and finally another strip of paper.  I alternated the lengths of each strip to add to the whimsy of my card.

I stamped the sentiment from the Celebrate sentiment from Stampavie, in the bottom right corner.

I added a flock of fun turquoise butterflies cut from the Butterfly Delights.  This kraft piece was layered onto a naturals white card base.

I opted to keep this card flat so I can pop this in the mail. If you were to make this card, you could certainly add some pearls or rhinestones to the centers of the butterflies.  I love the look of the butterflies going in all different directions.  It puts a smile on my face to imagine all those butterflies fluttering around me.

Your card is so cute and quick to make too! Thanks Holly!

Mother's Day Flowers

It's Joy here!  Today we are celebrating Mother's Day at Classy Cards 'n Such.  Beverly, the owner of Classy Cards 'n Such challenged us to make Mother's Day cards and here is mine.  This will be sent to my mom's best friend who treated us like her own kids while we were growing up.

These flowers were made from the dies Build a Flower #2 and Build a Flower #1 Petals and Leaves for the leaves.  These dies were cut out of old pattern tissue paper.  The flower parts were colored using a Mini Ink Blending Tool and some Tim Holtz Seasonal Distress Inks.

I also used a frame die from Honey Blossom Frame. From this die I cut the flower vine off and used it to add some dimension.  I sprayed the two vines with a little Silk Glimmer Mist to lighten and give a little sparkle to the vines.

The Happy Mothers Day Sentiment is from Hugs and Kisses Sentiments by JustRite, was stamped onto one of the tags in the paper set called The Lake House by Kaiser Kraft.  I popped this up with a few Small Joy Foam Pads.

The background flower vine paper is also from
The Lake House.

Your card is so pretty and delicate! Thanks Joy!

Enjoy Mother's Day

Hi, it's Misti, with a card to share with you for the Classy Cards 'n Such Mother's Day Challenge #31.  Can you believe that it's almost Mother's Day?  This card is going to be my husband's step-mom's card.

For my card, I used papers from the French Country paper pad by Graphic 45.  It's easy to pull them together when they come from the same pad.

I stamped my tulip image from Tulips for Friends, from Flourishes, onto my white cardstock.  I colored it in with a couple of my favorite makers, the leaves in Peeled Paint distress ink marker with the Detail Water Brush.

I stamped my sentiment on a piece of white cardstock, and cut it out with the smallest Nestabilities from the Labels Twenty-nine set, then popped it up with two pieces of Small Joy Foam Pads.

I used some Eggshell Seam Binding and Black Pearls as the accessories to finish off this card.

Now, I just need two more Mother's Day cards and I'll be set.  I hope you join us this week for our Mother's Day Challenge.

Your card is full of pretty colors and cheery! Thanks Misti!

Holly's Peacock Peony

Hi folks, it's Holly posting today!

Have you played in the Mother's Day challenge yet?  This is the card I created for the challenge, and I kinda hate to give this one away. That flower is just so pretty!  But I know my mom will enjoy this card, and she totally deserves to have a pretty card for her special day.

I started this card by smooshing some Peacock Feathers Distress Stain and Squeezed Lemonade Distress Stain onto a nonstick craft mat.  I spritzed it with water, and then dragged some white cardstock through the stains.  After this dried, I used it with the Lovely Peony Background die for my flower background.  I cut out some black cardstock with the Lovely Peony Outline die, and then glued this black outline to the blue flower with a Quickie Glue Pen. Some Baby White Pearls were affixed to the center of the flower and then I set this aside while I assembled the card.

I stamped the Wooden Plank Cover a Card background (Impression Obsession) using the Mega Mount Tool with Versamark onto some Kraft cardstock.  I wanted a more distressed, weather beaten look to my background, so I smooshed the Versamark inkpad all over the stamped Kraft cardstock background.

Next, I stamped the sentiment from the Hugs and Kisses Sentiments, (JustRite), with black ink at the bottom.

I cut a strip of the plaid paper from the Vintage Bliss 6x6 paper pad and glued it at a diagonal onto my wood background and then I tied some Chalk White Seam Binding around it.  The flower was affixed to the card with some Large Joy Foam Pads and then I glued this onto a pink card base.

This turned out to be a fun, happy, and sweet Mother's Day card.  I can't wait to see the look on my mom's face when she sees this card. I hope you play along in the challenge!

Your card is so unique and pretty! Thanks Holly!
