I love the ideas that all you ladies came up with.  Bumblebees would be adorable in this jar - that reminds me of the lightning bugs we used to catch when I was a kid.  How cute would it be to fill this jar with water and and have a fish or two in it?  My nephews would love that for a birthday card!  I love the idea of a ship in a bottle!  How creative is that?  Wouldn't that be nice for a Father's Day card??  And a vellum jar with vintage buttons would be so beautiful.  I can just see that in my head with lace and maybe a thimble and some scissors.....  oooohhh!!!

Country Jar of Flowers

Hey, it's Holly posting today.  I'm going country with this fun gingham paper and this rustic jar of flowers.  

I started with a piece of Kraft cardstock cut in half (4.25" x 11") and then folded it in half to make an A2 sized card.  I cut the red gingham paper from the Summer Fresh 6x6 paper pad (Simple Stories) to 3.25" x 5.5".  Some white paper was cut with the Country Girl Border die (Cheery Lynn Designs) and I glued it to the sides of the red gingham paper before adhering the paper to my kraft card base.

Next, I die cut the Tall Canning Jar from white cardstock.  I pulled out my Salty Ocean Distress Stain and dabbed it all over the jar.  Once this blue coloring dried, I dabbed some Brushed Pewter Distress Stain all over the blue jar and spritzed it with water to help the stain move.  I didn't want it to look completely silvery - I just wanted a hint of shine.  I let this dry and checked out the color.  Since I wanted a rustic country look, I sponged some brown ink around the edges.  You can see the shine as well as the sponging in this close up picture below.

I set the jar aside to dry completely while I cut out my flowers.  I die cut the Honey Blossom Sprig from green paper and then again from white paper.  I dabbed the white flowers with the Squeezed Lemonade Distress Stain and set it aside to dry.  Once it was dry, I cut out the pale yellow flowers and glued them over the top of the green ones.  I cut the lower pieces of the sprig off and arranged them all so they would fit into the jar and then taped the pieces down on the back.  I then wrapped some linen thread around the neck of the jar for that final country touch.  The jar was affixed to the red gingham paper with some Joy Foam Pads.  

This turned out so cute!  Now it's got me thinking what else I can put in that jar.  Any ideas from you crafty gals out there??  :-)

Hi everyone!   Steph here.  Today, I wanted to share a basket I made using the Vintage Label and Banner dies.  This set, made to mirror JustRite stamps, contains two vintage labels and three different sizes/shapes of banner dies.  

• Cut four pieces of the large vintage label from Wausau Index Green cardstock.  
• Ink the edges of all pieces with Pumice Stone Distress Ink.  
• Cut four pieces of the large vintage label from black cardstock.
• Cut four pieces of the smaller vintage label from Esse Smooth Pearlized Cocoa cardstock. 
• Ink the edges of all pieces with Pumice Stone Distress Ink.  

Looking for a tone-on-tone effect, I stamped the leaf stamp from Heartfelt Creation's Classic Bella Rose stamp set onto each of the smaller vintage labels with Pumice Stone Distress Ink.  Then I embossed each piece with Clear Fine Detail embossing powder by Sparkle 'n Sprinkle.  Love the embossed effect! 

To create a sturdy base, cut chipboard 4 3/4" x 4 3/4".  Using a Scor-Buddy, score 1/2" around all 4 sides and fold.  Cut the small squares from each corner.  

Using Scor-Tape, apply to the chipboard edges and then adhere the large vintage labels.  Add Pumice Stone Distress Ink where necessary to cover the chipboard.  

Once the labels were adhered, I carefully cut around the labels, making the chipboard less prominent.

To create the handle, cut a 1" x 11" strip from Esse Smooth Pearlized Cocoa Cardstock. Stamp the leaf stamp from Heartfelt Creation's Classic Bella Rose stamp set repeatedly along the strip with Pumice Stone Distress Ink,  then emboss with Clear Fine Detail embossing powder.  For a strong hold, apply Scor-Tape to the edges of the handle and adhere to opposite sides of the basket.

To finish the inside of the basket, adhere the large black vintage labels to the sides and a piece of black cardstock on the base.

Punch a hole in each side of the basket and tie with Doodle Twine.


This is a really nice sized basket and would be perfect to place candies or even a few flowers inside.

Honeybees in a Frame

Hi, it's Holly posting today.  Have you seen the great new Memory Box dies in the store lately?  I ordered these as soon as I saw them, and I am in love with these new frames.  I think I'm going to have to pick up a few more - they are just gorgeous!

I started this card by die cutting the new Honey Blossom Frame from green paper.  I cut it again with a soft yellow paper and cut out the flowers and glued them on top of the green ones.  It's a little time consuming but so easy and the results are so pretty.  I then cut some white paper with the Debutante Frame die and sponged it with blue ink around a scratch paper Classic Scallop Oval (Spellbinders) die cut.  This is how I created my cloudy sky background.  Some glue was lightly applied around the back of the frame and I pressed it onto my cloudy background piece.

Next, I die cut the fun Honey Bee Skep (beehive) from soft yellow paper.  To give this some realism, I sponged some saffron ink around the edges and then I took a marker and colored in all the horizontal grooves.  The little door was colored with a dark brown marker and then taped in place on the backside.  This beehive was affixed to the card with some Joy Foam Pads (small).

The Jolly Bumblebees were cut twice - once from dark brown paper and once from soft yellow paper.  I then glued the appropriate pieces to the bodies and glued them down onto my card.  The last thing I did was stamp the sentiment from Anytime Sentiments (Impression Obsession) with dark brown ink onto the lower right corner of my cloudy background.  

These frames are perfectly sized for a regular A2 card.  The Debutante die goes with all of these larger frames, such as Honey Blossom Frame and Twirling Vine Frame.  These are in the store now with more to come.

Hey, it's Holly posting today.  Are you ready for Spring?  I bet those of you with snow and frigid temperatures are more than ready.  :-)  Here's a cute flower card to usher in some spring weather.

This is a different sized card than what I normally create.  This one will fit into a #10 business sized envelope.  I cut the orange cardstock to 9.25" by 8" and folded the 8" side in half at the 4" mark.  I added a layer of Kraft cardstock (new in the store!) which measures 9.25" x 3.25", and then a layer of white cardstock which is 9.25" x 3".

Next, I cut a length of the Chalk White seam binding so that it would wrap around the card with a little extra so I could tie a bow.  Do you see the interesting colors on the seam binding?  See how it is pale in some areas and darker in other areas?  I love that hand-dyed quality in this seam binding.  I created that by using the fabulous Evergreen Bough Distress Stain.  It's really easy to use - just press the bottle over the ribbon and let the color flow until it is dyed to your liking.  I wanted a faded aspect to my ribbon, so I misted it with some water and scrunched it around in my hands and let it dry.

Once my seam binding was dry, I wrapped it around the card and tied a bow in the middle.  I cut some large daisies from the Daisy Strip die (Cheery Lynn Designs) and arranged them on the card.  Some small circles were punched from the Kraft cardstock and adhered to the centers of the daisies.  Then I die cut some letters from both the Parker Upper Alphabet and the Parker Lower Alphabet dies and spelled out "Hello" on my flowers.  

Isn't that cute?  These colors just make me happy.  I hope this card makes you happy, too!  :-)

Jack and Ginger

Hi everyone!

Steph here and I've used Stampavie's Jack and Ginger today.    

I used a pre-made card, and cut green Wausau green cardstock to fit the front of the card.  I then used a sheet of awesome glittered pattern paper from the Love Letters collection as my next layer.

Jack and Ginger were colored with Copic markers, then matted on yellow cardstock from Graphic 45's Secret Garden collection. This double sided collection is spectacular with assorted patterns and colors.

The flourish was die cut from  Wausau green cardstock and added behind the image.  I used Sakura's Gelly Roll pen to add a little glitter to the flowers behind Jack's back.

Good morning, everyone. Steph here again and I've created a quick and easy birthday card using papers from the Love Letters paper pad.  This paper collection is full of single sided and double sided papers as well as glitter papers.   You have so many creative options when using this collection.

Since I needed a birthday card I pulled out JustRite Stampers Topsy Turvy Cakes and stamped a cake on Cryogen White Curious Metallic  I then lightly colored the cake with Copic Markers.  For a little added bling, I used a Sakura Gelly Roll Pen.

I used a Spellbinders Oval die to cut the cake and the second layer.  Then I cut the largest Spellbinders Labels Eighteen die from brown cardstock to anchor the cake.  This piece was then added to the card with Joy Foam Adhesives.

A strip of pink paper was mounted on brown cardstock and added across the center of the card and the sentiment was stamped on top in black ink.

Peace Tapestry

Hi Classy friends, it's Holly posting today. I'm sharing a sympathy card that I created using one of the new Cover-A-Card background stamps.  It's never easy to make sympathy cards, so I wanted to have a few on hand for those times when they are needed.

I started by cutting some Kraft cardstock (new in the store!) to 5.5" x 8.5" and then I folded it in half to create my card base.  Next, I cut some plum cardstock to 3.5" x 4.25".  I stamped this plum cardstock with the beautiful new Quilt Cover-A-Card background stamp using Versamark.  I covered this with Clear Detail Embossing Powder, tapped off the excess, and used my heat gun to melt the powder.  Using a clear embossing powder usually means that you will get a deeper shade of the original cardstock color.  (This doesn't work on pale colors such as white or vanilla.)  I really love this Quilt stamp and how it pops out because of the clear embossing powder.  So beautiful!

This embossed plum cardstock piece was adhered to my kraft card base, and then I added a strip of dark brown cardstock above that.  The ends were simply notched out with scissors.  

For the sentiment piece, I cut out some vanilla cardstock with a Labels 18 die (Spellbinders).  While the cardstock was still inside the die, I sponged some plum ink around the inside and then removed the cardstock from the die.  I stamped the sentiment from the With Sympathy set (JustRite) with plum ink and then adhered it to my card.

I kept this card simple because I wanted the gorgeous richness of the embossing on the plum cardstock to stand out.  This Quilt background is so lovely and elegant and perfect for all kinds of cards, whether they are birthday cards, sympathy cards, thank you cards, or even holiday cards.

The Cover-A-Card stamps are such an easy way to make a background!  Scroll down to watch the video here which shows you how to use the Mega Mount to stamp the Cover-A-Card or any large stamp.   There is now a mini-mount which is great for smaller, but still large stamps.   I've always had trouble stamping background stamps and this is the fix!

It's Steph here today with a Thank You card.   With the right papers, it's easy to create a simple, yet fabulous card.

I started with some awesome Pearlized Cocoa Cardstock.  I'll be honest, the paper is even more gorgeous in real life.  Using this as the base of my card, I added a sheet of roses from Ladies, Gents and Trendsetters by Webster's Pages around which I tied some yellow Doodle Twine.

I stamped the sentiment from Antique Lantern Pre-Cut set from Heartfelt Creations onto Pearlized Cocoa Cardstock and then matted it with Stardream Rose Quartz cardstock.  I adhered the sentiment to the card front with Joy Foam Adhesives for some additional dimension.

Tapestry Butterfly Wishes

Hi folks, it's Holly posting today.  Have you seen the new background stamps in the Classy Cards 'n Such store?  I love the Cover-A-Card backgrounds because they are the perfect size to stamp on your cards, no matter if they are vertical or horizontal.  I've used the new Tapestry 2 Cover-a-Card background on this birthday card, and it's just gorgeous!  I love how it looks as a tone-on-tone background with a darker colored sentiment stamped directly over it.

I stamped the Tapestry 2 background with pink ink onto a pale pink card base.  The birthday wishes sentiment, from the Birthday stamp set, was stamped with a dark brown ink directly onto the tapestry background.  I used a small strip of Kraft cardstock (new in the store!) in the Garden Lattice M-bossabilities embossing folder and embossed it with my die cutting machine.  I wanted the pretty latticework to pop out, so I rubbed the embossed areas very lightly with a kraft ink.

This embossed kraft strip was adhered to the left side of my pink card base.  I cut a piece of darker pink cardstock with the pretty Lady Kate Edger die (Cheery Lynn Designs) and adhered that next to the kraft strip.  A strip of the White Cotton Flowers lace was affixed over the kraft piece where it joined the darker pink Lady Kate border.  Finally, I die cut the Exotic Butterfly, Small #2 from a dark brown cardstock and affixed it to my card with a small Joy Foam Pad.

I love how this Tapestry background is soft and subtle on this card.  It provides just the right touch of elegance for this feminine birthday card. I can't wait to see how it looks stamped with a bold color or embossed with a gold or white embossing powder - wouldn't that look wonderful?  :-)
