Seaside Fun

Hi, it is Shirley posting today.  I enjoyed making this card. Maybe because this beach scene is so inviting.

The paper I chose to use today is Graphic 45, By The Sea 6 X 6 paper pad. The pad has so many wonderful beach pictures to choose from.

I put a piece of light brown card stock in the corner, and tore it around the top and side edges to make it look like sand. I used distress ink on it to make the sand look more realistic. I fussy cut the children and used Joy Small Foam Pads to pop them up.

The seahorse and the steering wheel were cut using the Impression Obsession Mini Nautical Set. The shells were made by using the Impression Obsession Shell Set. They were sponged also with distress ink. The blue starfish was cut from  So...Silk Glamour Green card stock. I had a scrap of it left over from another card, and knew I would find a use for it. It was just too pretty to toss in the trash. I am glad I saved it.

For my final step on this card, I made a sailor's knot with thick twine, and glued it to the upper corner.

I love the cards you are making with the G$% paper pad - the scenes are all so cute and nautical at the same time! Love the way you work in those little sea shell dies and the seahorse and wheel look great on the beach with the children. Your nautical knot completes the corner - what a great embellishment for this card! Way to go, Shirley!
