Birthday Sunflowers

Shirley posting today with  a Happy Birthday card.  One can never have too many birthday cards so I like to make a few ahead for the birthdays for the month.

Generally,  I am so busy making cards that I almost forget to mail them.  Okay so the real truth is, I am known for mailing them a little late.  ~grin~

I started off the card with a vanilla base.  For the next layer I used a gold piece of paper from the 12 days of Christmas pad by Graphic 45.  Next layer is a piece of brown card stock.  I took another piece of vanilla and embossed it with a Darice Plaid Background and took my gold ink pad and inked over the embossing.

I used a Spellbinders Large Scalloped Oval die to cut an oval from this embossed piece.  I placed it over a piece of paper from the Graphic 45 Botanical Tea paper.

I took a piece of scrap paper from my stash that would coordinate with my card and stamped the sunflowers image from the Just Rite Botanical Medallion and Banners stamp set.  I colored them with markers and cut them out with a circle die.  I took a piece of brown card stock and cut a scalloped circle to go under the image.  I  adhered all the card pieces together.

I used the Our Daily Bread Designs Pennant Swag 2 stamps and stamped the Happy Birthday in brown ink. I took the Our Daily Bread Pennant Swag Die, and cut the swags to attach to my card.  I cut bows from the same die from gold paper and added to the swags.

For my finishing touch, I use Silver Rhinestones to decorate the corners and the bows.

Watch for our new challenge to be posted just after midnight tonight!   There will be a beautiful picture posted for inspiration.   Join us, won't you?

Thanks for stopping by!!! Until next time...

Love the way you set the stage for your beloved sunflowers with the golden colors, the embossed and inked over BG piece, and the birthday swags! The scripted Graphic 45 looks great and makes your sunflowers really BLOOM!! Love it!
