In Nature

Hi, it's Misti!

Can I share a secret with you?  I'm surrounded by boys/men and yet I have a hard time making masculine cards.

When I saw that one of the sheets of paper in the Simple Stories Vintage Bliss 6" x 6" paper pad looked like old weathered boards, I got a little excited. I thought it would make perfect masculine birthday or Father's Day cards. The way my weeks are flying by, if I don't get started, I'm going to have a few masculine cards to make all at one time.

I used the In Nature set from Flourishes, and stamped it in black onto white cardstock.  I water colored it in using Tim Holtz Distress Ink Markers of Peeled Paint, Broken China, Frayed Burlap, and Vintage Photo, along with the Detail Water Brush.

I cut a strip from Wild Cherry and Deep Blue pieces of cardstock from the Layering Swatches to make little flag type one on end. One masculine card down, several more to go!

A great look for a masculine card! Thanks Misti!

Florals and Pearls

Hi, Joy today, sharing a card made with great supplies from Classy Cards 'n Such.

The paper is from The Lake House 6.5" x 6.5" paper pad from Kaisercraft.

The sentiment stamped on one of the die cuts from the paper pad is from Hugs and Kisses Sentiments from JustRite Stamps.

The little flowers are made from a Spellbinders die called Picot Edge Circles but can be made from any Spellbinders die that has loopy edges - oval or circle.  In a few weeks, I'll post a tutorial that will show how to make these little flowers.

The leaves are cut with the Build a Flower #2 by Cheery Lynn Designs with Little Pink Pearls added in the center.

Recap:

Dies:     Picot Edge Circles
                Build a Flower #2
Other:  Pink Pearls

Thanks for looking at my card. Have a Happy Stamping day!

Your card looks so delicate and pretty! Thanks Joy!

Colors of Spring

Hello Friends!  Diane here with you today on the Classy Cards 'n Such blog. I just recently received some wonderful NEW products from Beverly's shop and I have to tell you, it was love at first sight!!

First up are the new stencils from Memory Box. These are fun, easy and when finished, beautiful.  The stencil I used is called Textured Mesh.  I simply sponged on a few colors using Tim Holtz Distress Ink Pads with no rhyme or reason, just what was pleasing to me!

The die behind the flowers, is a brand new one just put in stock in the store by Joy! Crafts, called Billie's Circle. Isn't it gorgeous?? I popped it up a bit using Joy Foam Pads Small.

Two New and just in are the Zinnia Bouquet and Zinnia Bouquet Background, both from Memory Box. I sponged with the same colors as used for the stencil background.
I hope you have enjoyed today's project. Thank you for visiting. See you again soon!

Your card is so bright and pretty! Thanks Diane!

Kraft Damask Thoughts

Hi folks, it's Holly posting today!

I wanted to create a feminine card without using any reds or pinks or purples, so I challenged myself to see what I could come up with. I used a rather masculine color combo of Kraft, Green, Teal, and White.

I used the following products from Classy Cards 'n Such on this card:

Damask Cover a Card background stamp
Anytime Sentiments stamp set
Teal Velveteen Micro-fine Glitter
Kraft cardstock
Fanciful Flourish Left die - SOLD OUT

I started by stamping the sentiment at the bottom of the Kraft cardstock, and then I used a couple of sticky notes to mask off an angled area at the bottom. With the sticky notes covering up the sentiment and the angled bottom part of the Kraft cardstock, I then stamped the Damask Cover a Card background on the top part.

A strip of the Scor-Tape 1/4" was applied to the bottom of the Damask stamped piece. I covered the adhesive with the Teal Velveteen glitter. Ooh, that velvet glitter is just gorgeous!

I then cut out the Shasta Daisy Strip with white cardstock, colored the tips with a teal Copic marker, and used the tweezers from the Paper Blossom Tool Kit to curl each one of the petals.  I used a rhinestone brad to assemble the flower and then I affixed the flower to my card.

The flourish was cut out from green cardstock, and I cut some of the pieces apart and then I tucked them in around my flower. The flourish die that I used is sold out, but you could use the Fanciful Flourish, as well as the Mini Fanciful Flourish. Once the flower and the flourishes were in place, I adhered my Kraft piece to white cardstock, and then I adhered that to a green card base.

I love how this turned out, and I know a few ladies who would love to get this card in the mail.  Believe it or not, there are some ladies who abhor the "girly" colors of pink and purple and pastels.  Hee hee!  I myself love ALL colors and I can see this card layout done in many other color combos.  What colors would you use if you were making this card?

Your card is so warm and lovely! Thanks Holly!

Pop! Goes the Dahlia

Hello Friends!

It's Diane today, with a bloom I plucked out of my paper garden of colors!

This week at Classy Cards 'n Such our challenge is to use a Susan's Garden flower die by Sizzix.  Now, the only challenge for me was deciding which one to use!  Being the gardener I am, I seem to have acquired quite a collection of them. After much debate, I chose the Dahlia. I grow these gorgeous flowers myself and one of the best things about them, besides their beauty, are all the colors they bloom in!

To start my card, I used a paper called Banana Split - Pop Tone. I had been searching for a pretty, high quality yellow card stock and this one is it!!

My next layer was made using the Polynesian Sails Doily Angel Wing. I embossed it with a gorgeous, new in store,  Matelasse embossing folder from Anna Griffin. On top of that, my next layer is the Polynesian Sails Oval die. Cheery Lynn Designs dies are on sale right now. Hurry and get yours before they are gone!

My Dahlia was made with the same Banana Split - Pop Tone paper. I bet you couldn't tell, could you?

I used PanPastels Flower Coloring Kit - Susan's Garden, applied with Sofft Covers Point No. 4, to give my Dahlia the yellow/orange tones you see. In making these flowers, I used some very handy tools. Susan's Garden Tool Kit is a must have for making any kind of flowers, a wonderful investment!

Last is my little butterfly, made with a just purchased Joy Craft die called Butterfly Trio.

I hope you have enjoyed my post today.  I am looking forward to seeing your entry in the Susan's Garden flower challenge!

Your card just blooms with color! Thanks Diane!
