Welcome friends, to this weeks sample for Classy Cards 'n Such Weekly Challenge, #108 Squirrel-y Friends. Make a friend card ~ and add a squirrel or bird.

Mindy with you today, and I added some of each, even though my focal image is a beautiful Cardinal.

My focal image is from the stamp called Cheery Cardinal Pre-Cut Set from Heartfelt Creations. I stamped it on off-white stock, colored with various markers, then fussy cut before adding it to a background of printed paper. This was adhered on top of a metallic stock mat, and Kraft card base. I used Joy! Large Foam Pads to attach it to the card. Next, I added the sentiment from the same set, and two small squirrels from the Squirrel Set by Impression Obsession.

To finish my card, I added a few Cherry Chocolate Dew Drops by Robins Nest, just to add a bit of dimension.

Best Friends

Good afternoon, it's Joy!  I love the challenge today at Classy Cards 'n Such blog. It's all about sweetness and friends. We are to add a bird or squirrel to our project.

 

This sweet image is from Twinkles by Impression Obsession. The background was done with a partial embossing technique, using a folder called Smitten by Anna Griffin - one of my favorites!

I used a few markers to color it, and then added Wink of Stella over the snowman, and on the snow underneath him. I guess I could add that Wink of Stella to every card!  It really makes projects just a little extra special.

Hi, Diane with you today. This week our challenge theme is Squirrel-y Friends. We were to make a friend card, with the option of adding a squirrel/bird.

I stamped a sentiment from JustRite Seeds of Summer stamp set, thinking it was a perfect friendship message.

I used two of the six dies from the Sue Wilson Kefalonia Greek Collection, popping the outer edge up.

The branch is Impression Obsession Pine Branch. After adding a few branches from Memory Box Meadowbird Branch, I used a Snow Marker to add puffs of snow. I am sure you have seen me use this before. If you are not familiar with it, you just dab it on, heat it with a heat gun and it puffs up, adding snowy dimension.

I also added a bird from the same Meadowbird Branch set. Here is a closeup of the bird.

To finish I cut a birdhouse from Impression Obsession Birdhouse set, and a squirrel from Impression Obsession Squirrel set.

A few gold sequins were added to finish. Make your own sequins using the Sequins die listed below. There are also Foil papers in the CCNS store, so make a bunch in any color you want!!

Cardinal Christmas

Good afternoon!  Diana here, to share with you another Christmas card I made for this week's Squirrel-y Friends challenge.

I went with birds since I wanted to make a Christmas card. As you can see, this is a green Christmas, definitely not white!

 

I started with the largest die from Spellbinders A2 Matting Basics A. It gives a perfect 1/16 inch matting for the white stitched layer using MFT Blueprints 13. I also matted the fishtail banner.

Instead of using the birds from the PoppyStamps Serendipity Bird Frame, I used the PoppyStamps Cheery Cardinals to match all the touches of red I have throughout the card. 

The sentiment from Sweet 'n Sassy's, We Three Kings, was stamped and embossed with White Detail embossing powder and cut using the bracket banner from the same MFT Blueprints 13 set.

Finally, I added some Impression Obsession Evergreen Trees cut from watercolor paper with watercolor brush pens.  The largest one was popped up with a couple of Joy! Small Foam Pads and hangs over the banner just a bit.

Elegant Christmas

Hello, crafting friends!  It is Shirley here today, with a card that I have made for Challenge #108 Squirrel-y Friends. Make a friend card and add a squirrel or a bird.

I started my card with a white card base. I cut another white layer and embossed it using the Darice Doily Lace  embossing folder.

Next I chose two stamps to stamp my sentiment. One of them had My Friend on it, and the other one had Merry Christmas. I aligned them on my block, stamped them in Versamark and followed with Gold Detail embossing powder. This is a great way to stretch your stamps.

I took the Impression Obsession Pine Branch die to cut the white pine branches. I attached them to my card using Art Institute Dries Clear Adhesive.

I used Gold shiny card stock to cut my birds using Bird Song Dies  Secret Treasures Collection. I attached the gold birds to the branches, also using the Art Institute Dries Clear Adhesive.

My finishing touch to my card was to make a bow with gold ribbon and using the Bow Easy. This is a great tool for me because I cannot tie pretty bows.
