Sunrise Rooster

Hi, it's Holly posting today! I've been playing with the new Memory Box stencils that arrived in the Classy Cards 'n Such store.

For this card, I pulled out the Texture Shine  stencil and laid it over some white cardstock.  I then sponged on some yellow ink over most of the open area, and then I followed up with some orange ink down towards the bottom.  After I took the stencil off, the white areas were a bit too stark in contrast, so I toned it down by lightly sponging some more yellow and orange inks over the stenciled background.

Next, I cut out the Cheery Lynn Designs Victorian Picket Fence  and the Poppystamps Barnyard Rooster from dark brown cardstock and adhered those to my background.

The sentiment, from Inky Antics Daisy Bouquets stamp set, was stamped with dark brown ink at the top of my stenciled background.

The stenciled piece was matted with a dark brown layer and then adhered to a Kraft card base.

This piece was really fun to create.  I love how this card is free of bulky embellishments. I can write a note inside and pop this in the mail to a loved one.  This card is gender free, so I can send this to anyone.

Your card will surely make someone smile! Thanks Holly!

For My Friend

Hi, it's Misti!

I have a sympathy card to share with you today.  A good friend of mine lost her father this week.

Since I have such a hard time making sympathy cards to keep on hand, I was able to personalize this one just for her.  She loves light pink roses, so that's where I started with this card.

The roses in the With Sympathy set from JustRite are just beautiful. I stamped them onto a piece of white cardstock and water colored them with Tim Holtz Distress Ink Markers, using  Spun Sugar, Peeled Paint  and the Detail Water Brush. I backed it with a piece of gray cardstock. Then I set it aside.

I used white cardstock for my base and the same gray to make a mat.

Then I used a piece of designer paper from the KaiserCraft Key to My Heart pack. I added a piece of White Cluney lace before I taped those pieces down.

I took another piece of white cardstock and the Spellbinders Radiant Rectangles. I used the fourth one from the center. Don't forget to use the Cuttlehug. It will make a huge difference getting into all of those detailed areas!

I adhered the roses pieces onto the rectangle and used pieces of Joy Foam Pads to pop up the rectangle.

I added White Baby Pearls to the corners of the white cardstock and the pink designer paper.

Thanks for checking out my card! Hope to see you again!

Your card is so lovely! Thanks Misti!

Shine from Above

Hi, it's Debbie today!

The Rainbow of Colors Challenge this week brings back memories of gorgeous rainbows I remember from years past. Who doesn't love a rainbow after a rain storm? The colors seem to glow in the sky. The memories of rainbows I have seen over the years, are what led to my card today.

For the base of the card, I used light purple cardstock.

For the main white cardstock panel, I taped in place the Memory Box stencil Texture Shine, over the panel. I didn't want to over power the panel with color, so I sponged in the first five areas of the stencil.

The colors used for the stencil are Tim Holtz Distress Ink Pads. Working left to right, the colors are Victorian Velvet, Broken China, Wild Honey, Spiced Marmalade and Spun Sugar. The ink pads for these colors are sold out, but the Tim Holtz Distress Ink Markers  in these colors are still available in the store.

The sentiment is from the JustRite Hugs and Kisses Sentiments stamp set. I used the Spellbinders Butterfly Circles for the die cut.

I really like how the colors stand out by using the stencil! I invite you to join us for our Rainbow of Colors Challenge!

A Rainbow of Glitter

Hi folks, it's Holly posting today! Have you played in our new Rainbow of Colors challenge yet? This is a fun challenge. Just make a card or project with all the different colors of the rainbow. You don't have to have an actual rainbow on there - just the colors.

With this in mind, I pulled out all the different glitters I have and I had a ball!  It was so much fun to play with all these glitters.  They have different textures as well as different colors, so there is a lot of visual interest on this card.

I started by stamping the sentiment at the bottom.  This sentiment is from the Stampavie Celebrate stamp set.

Next, I pulled out my 1/4" Scor-Tape and laid down six lines of tape at a diagonal above the sentiment. I carefully peeled off one liner at a time and covered with glitter.  I repeated this for each of the six colors. I used the following glitters (from top to bottom, purple to red):

I love the contrast of the fine velvet glitters against the chunky distress glitters. The colors are gorgeous, and the glittery shimmer makes my eyes happy!

Play along in the Rainbow of Colors challenge - you could win a fabulous prize!

Your card really is a rainbow of color! Thanks Holly!

Rainbow Card

Hi! Joy here today, showing you a card I made with supplies from Classy Cards 'n Such.

I will be taking a card class next week and it's goal is to show how to make clean and simple cards.  I got a few supplies from Classy Cards 'n Such in preparation for the class.  Here is a clean and simple card.

Recap of Supplies:
Blueprints 4 by My Favorite Things
Stamp:  Old Friends Set by JustRite
Embossing Folder: Lattice Embossing Folder by Crafts Too
Pop Dots:  Joy Foam Dots

I used two of the cloud dies from Memory Box called Puffy Clouds. The clouds were texturized with the Lattice Embossing Folder by Crafts Too.

The scallop border is from Blueprints 4 from My Favorite Things. This little scallop is the perfect size for cards.

The sentiment is from Just Rite Stamps called Old Friends.  (by the way, it is on a fantastic sale!!)

The sentiment and the large cloud were popped up using Joy Foam Dots.

Hopefully this clean and simple rainbow card will inspire you to make a Rainbow card and join our Challenge. Be sure to check out all the details here on the blog.

I'll let you know how the class goes! Have a HAPPY stamping day!

Rainbow of Butterflies

Hello Classy Friends!

Diane here with you today sharing my card for our weekly challenge and hopefully inspiring you to play along!

This week's challenge is Colors of The Rainbow.  Lots of wonderful colors to brighten your day!

I've had this card in mind for quite some time. I have to say it is slightly bigger then  a business size envelope. Good thing I have the WeR Memory Keepers envelope maker. I can easily make an envelope to fit!

I have been purchasing some of the most gorgeous card stocks from Beverly. Wonderful quality, gorgeous colors, and a nice very sturdy weight. I cut all my butterflies from these gorgeous papers using  my new Joy Crafts Butterfly Trio die, using the largest size of the three. I will list all the colors of the papers at the end of my post with the links for your convenience!

The stamp I used in also a newly just purchased item that Beverly has started to carry. It is from Impression Obsession stamp Leap of Faith. These stamps have a wonderful cling quality!

My card was built on a shimmery white card stock which was mounted onto Banana Split-Pop Tone, the yellow butterfly was cut from the same.

Other papers used for the butterflies are:

I hope you will join in with our challenge this week!!  I would love to see you there!

Your card is so pretty! Thanks Diane!
