Red Tulips In Bloom

Hi, it's Misti with a card to share with you today.

The tulips are in full bloom, and with the super warm weather we've had the last few days, I'm afraid they won't last very long.

I'm practicing with stencils again. I took a piece of Kraft cardstock and the Memory Box Texture Mesh stencil. I used my favorite white pigment ink pad and a sponge. By dipping the sponge into the white ink and dabbed it onto the Kraft cardstock, until it was evenly covered.   The stencil is made from a thick piece of plastic that wipes clean easily.

I stamped the Tulips, by Impression Obsession, in black ink onto a piece of white cardstock. I colored it in with my favorite red marker, Peeled Paint Tim Holtz Distress marker, and the Detail Water Brush.

When I cut down my tulip panel, I left more space on one side to put some red Doodle Twine from the Sweet Cakes Valentine's Assortment down one side.  Just because it says Valentine's Day doesn't mean that it can't be used for other things!

I used some Joy! Foam Pads to pop that image panel up off of the stenciled background.

It's ready to go in the mail to brighten someone's day!

Another wonderful card for many occasions! Thanks Misti!

Balloons and Clouds

Hi, it's Holly posting today.  Did you see this week's challenge?  It's so fun to create scenic views, and I tried something new with mine today.

I started with a light blue card base and the Modern Cloud Cover stencil, and I smoothed some Pearlescent Embossing Paste with a Palette Knife over the stencil.  I carefully removed the stencil and let this piece dry for several hours.

Next, I cut some fun hot air balloons using the Beautiful Balloon die and some papers from the Secret Garden 6x6 paper pad.  These balloons were adhered with some Joy Foam Pads, and I curled up the edges of the balloons for extra dimension.

Last, I stamped the sentiment from the Hello Daisy by  JustRite.

It was fun to combine stencils, die cuts, and stamping to make this sky themed card.  I hope you join in our challenge and show us what kind of scenes you create!

Cute card, looks like a balloon festival! Thanks Holly!

Let's Go Camping

Hello Classy friends! Diane here with you today, with my "Let's Go Camping" card, for our Classy Cards 'n Such challenge Make A Scene.

I don't camp anymore, but I sure do love the cute dies that have been popping out for these adorable camping trailers!

I cut the trailer from the My Favorite Things Happy Camper die set, using Stardream Serpentine Pearlized Metallic paper. I love how the metallic paper has a sheen, perfect for the camper, and look at all the detail the camper has...so fun!

I hand cut a mountain range and added several Impression Obsession Fir Trees. Nothing like camping in the open air with the smell of pine!

I added white fluffy clouds to the blue skies using Memory Box Puffy Clouds. To complete my "campsite", I had to add Golden Retriever using the Dog Set from Impression Obsession.

I would love to have you join in with us this week and create your own "scene"!

Cute card! All we need is the campfire! Thanks Diane!

Dear Friend

Good Morning! Joy here today showing you a card for the Classy Cards 'n Such Challenge #33, which is to make a card with a Scenic View with either stamps or die cuts.

I used a Stamp from Our Daily Bread called Path of Life.  I inked up the image with Versamark, sprinkled on some Sparkle 'n Sprinkle Black detail embossing powder, and embossed.  I use this brand because it is so fine that even the smallest details will pop out when heated up.

I used a Tim Holtz Water Brush and Tim Holtz Distress Ink Pads to color the scene. I pressed each color ink pad, one at a time, onto the non-stick small non-stick sheet that came in my Susan's Garden Tool Kit. I love this little sheet. It's the perfect size, easy to clean up, and my desk is less crowded than if I pulled out my big sheet.

The next step was to spritz a little Silk Glimmer Mist on top of the ink pressed onto the mat. I used this instead of water because it does not add much color to the inks, but sure gives a beautiful sparkle and glimmer.
After painting, I cut the scene out with the Spellbinders  A2 Matting Basics A. These create perfect layers and make for quick matting.

I stamped the little sentiment from the JustRite Hugs and Kisses Sentiments, on to one of the little labels from the Teramo Labels from Memory Box. A little piece of ribbon was added and attached onto a card base.
Thank you for looking at my card. Have a HAPPY stamping day!

A beautiful card to send to a dear friend! Thanks Joy!
