Holly's XOXO Valentine

I started out by covering the chipboard xoxo piece with some white gesso.  While the gesso was wet, I poured some clear glitter over it and I set it aside to let it dry.  I cut the dark gray card base to 5.5" by 8.5" and folded it in half to make a regular A2 sized card.

The patterned papers are from the Sweet Cakes Doodlebug Designs 6x6 paper pad, and I ran two of them through a swirly embossing folder.  The swirls were rubbed with sandpaper to bring out the white core.

Some Doodle Twine (Valentine's Assortment)  was wrapped around the card and tied with a bow.  I used the Scalloped Hearts Spellbinders die to cut the white scallop heart and then I used the regular Heart Spellbinders die to cut a smaller heart from some more patterned paper (also from the Sweet Cakes Doodlebug Designs 6x6 paper pad).  The xoxo chipboard was adhered to the heart with mini glue dots.

Thanks, Holly!!  Swirl in the Classy Cards 'n Such shop is a very similar embossing folder to the one Holly used.   The embossing folder sale ends Friday, so stock up now!   Enter promo code EF15 at checkout for 15% off all embossing folders!!! No limit!!!

Bella Rose

Here is Debbie's first card for Classy Cards 'n Such!

I stamped the Bella Rose on white paper using black ink, and colored the rose using Copic markers. Then I took some pink paper to make the frame.  I have seen this in some magazines and wanted to give it a try.  Using Spellbinders Labels Twenty, I picked two dies that are about the same size and then I ran them through the die cutting machine at the same time and then embossed them.  I am not sure if this is the correct way to make the frame but it worked!

Then I took the same pink paper and I embossed two pieces with the Leaves embossing folder.  This folder is really cool because the design repeats itself so you can line it up and put two pieces together.  I hid the seam with the ribbon.

Then using the white dye ink, I colored the raised parts of the paper.  I raised the frame using mounting tape. Then I assembled the card layering with green and pink adding some pearls and  the Gillian Raspberry flowers and embellishment.

Supplies:
Spellbinders - Labels Twenty
Embossing folder - Leaves
Embellishments - Gillian Raspberry flowers, ivory pearls
Ink - white dye, black, pink dye
Other - Assorted paper, ribbon, Copic markers, mounting tape, double stick tape

Thanks!

Blue Botanical Butterflies

Hello Everyone!  This is Chrissy D here.  I am SO excited to be joining the Design Team for Classy Cards 'n Such!  Classy Cards 'n Such has a wide variety of product and beautiful stamps! On the card that I am sharing with you today I used several FABULOUS products from her store...

The card base is a 4 1/4″ x 11″ piece of Ballet Blue cardstock folded in half.  I layered it on Lilac and Vanilla cardstock.  I stamped the smaller images from the Botanical Butterflies stamp randomly across the background in Lilac ink.  I then ran the cardstock through the Big Shot with a floral embossing folder.

I stamped the beautiful butterfly stamp in Versamark on Vanilla cardstock. I sprinkled gold embossing powder over the image and heat embossed it. The image was cut out with the Heart Circles by Spellbinders in vanilla cardstock and the Blossom Three die was cut in Ballet Blue and Lilac cardstock.  I used the Technique Junkie Newsletter and technique from from the October/November 2011 issue and added Dimensionals between the layers to add a little dimension. The image was colored with Prisma Color Pencils.
I couldn't resist using one of my FAVORITE dies from Bev's store called the Fanciful Flourish in Amethyst cardstock and cutting it apart to have it lay across the card. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the Crafters Tools too. This helps the cardstock pop out of those detailed dies!!!
To finish off this project, I added Chuckles Tear Drops using Mini Glue Dots to attach to the corners!
Please come again on FRIDAY, February 10th to join us in the NEW CLASSY CARDS CHALLENGE!
Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a wonderful day!
Thanks, Chris!!!

Valentine Shadowbox and more...

Holly is our first new design team member to share a creation.  You will see each of the others later this week!

Hello, everyone!  It's Holly posting today, and for my first project as a Guest Designer, I've made this cute Valentine's Shadowbox Card.  The card measures 5.5" x 5.5".  I scored at .5" and 1" and at 4.5" and 5" on two sheets of white cardstock. The Scor-Buddy works great for this!  I used a Labels 11 Spellbinders die to cut the opening on the front.

I've die cut some scalloped hearts using the Classic Scalloped Heart dies (Spellbinders) and the Sweet Cakes 6x6 paper pad (Doodlebug Designs).    I've attached each heart to the inside of my shadow box card using the matching Doodle Twine (Valentine's Assortment - Doodlebug Designs).   The hearts swing and dangle, making this a fun and interactive card to give to a loved one.

The sentiment was stamped at the bottom, and then I adhered the front piece to the back piece by putting glue on the outermost scored edges (left and right).  The card folds flat for mailing.
Thanks, Holly!!!
And now for some exciting news!!  Beginning Friday, February 10th, Classy Cards 'n Such will have a bi-weekly challenge!!  Play to win a Gift Certificate to the Classy Cards 'n Such online shop or a Classiest Card Award!  All of the details will be announced on Friday, along with some great samples from the Design Team!

Pink and Red Hearts

Can you tell we are in Valentine mode???   Linda is back with another beautiful Valentine!

There's still time for you to create that great Valentine card for someone you care about.  For this card, I started with a mat made from Stardream Fuse Azalea.  That was matted with a sheet from the Doodlebug Sweet Cakes Paper Pad.  On top of that, I layered a large Spellbinders Heart Circles  cut from the Esse Smooth Pearlized White and a smaller die from the Heart Circles cut from the Stardream Fuse Azalea.  The last layer is a Spellbinders Classic Scalloped Hearts cut from Esse Smooth Pearlized White and topped out with a Stardream Fuse Azalea heart from Spellbinders Classic Scalloped Hearts .  These layers were all popped up with foam dots and the mat layers were adhered with  1/4" Scor-Tape.

On the white scalloped heart, I added a small Pearl Nestabling Heart from Want2Scrap.  For additional embellishment, I used the Want2Scrap White Pearl Finess Swirl and the Prima White Gillian flower.  I also added some leaves to the flower with the Cheery Lynn Olive Branches die.  This is a really easy card to put together, and I think it makes a great Valentine card!

Thanks, Linda!!!  There is still time to get your Valentine supplies!!  Just click on the gold links above to quickly find the item in the Classy Cards 'n Such shop.   And don't forget our two Valentine bundles to save $$!!!

Simple Birdhouse Trio

Jennipher is back!   Enjoy her card today!!

Hello everyone,

It's Jennipher again and today I want to share with you a card I made using some die-cuts, outline stickers, and pre-made flowers. This card is perfect for any occasion and I've left the inside blank to conveniently add whatever sentiment I may need at a later date.

I started with a card base made from the gorgeous Ruby cardstock. First of all, this color is anything but ruby. It's a gorgeous shimmery purple. To my base, I added some Gold Lines outline stickers. Using my Spellbinders Lacy Ovals and Reich Shine cardstock I cut out three ovals of the same size. To those ovals I added some birdhouse outline stickers. The outline stickers can be colored in if you like but, I chose to leave them blank for a more elegant look. I staggered the placement of the lacy ovals on the card.

On top of the gold lines and for finishing touches I added three of the Sugar Blooms from Prima which, I believe are currently in the clearance section. You should grab some of these before they are gone as they are absolutely gorgeous and they are sprinkled with bits of glitter to make them even more beautiful.

Whenever you are wanting to pull a card together quickly the best tip I can offer is to use some pre-made products like the outline stickers and Prima flowers. It will come together quickly and elegantly.

Supplies:
Ruby cardstock
Reich Shine cardstock
Gold Lines outline stickers
Gold Birds outline stickers
Spellbinders Lacy Ovals
Prima Sugar Blooms Collection

Thanks Jenn!   As always, click on the gold links above to see the items in the shop.

Linda's You Hold the Key Valentine Card

Linda has done it again and created a gorgeous card!!!
Today I'm back with another Valentine card.  The red paper I used to mat this card came from the Doodlebug Sweet Cakes paper pad.  This paper pad is so great for Valentine cards and the great thing is that each sheet is double sided so you can really get alot of use out of it.
I attached a Cheery Lynn Designs French Pastry Doily to my mat with Scor-Tape.  The sentiment in the center is from the JustRite Romantic Sentiments Centers.  On top of the doily,  I added a Cheery Lynn Dutch Scallop Square which was popped up with foam dots.   A Cheery Lynn Fanciful Flourish was added across the corner.  These were all cut from Esse Smooth Pearlized White paper from the Classy Cards 'n Such shop. The Cheery Lynn Designs Celtic Heart was cut using the Wild Cherry paper from The Paper Cut Layering Swatches #2.
The flowers are Cheery Lynn Cuties 2 cut from the same paper as I had used for the mat.  To make the Cuties, cut two strips of paper with the die cut and then glue the two strips together with a narrow line of glue close to the bottom - one on top of the other - with the petals alternating.  Then either slip one end into a quilling tool or hold it with a small needle-nose pliers or similar tool and wind it around into a small ball, gluing as you go.  Once finished, hold it for a minute or so and allow the glue to dry.  Then gently fold the petals outward to more closely resemble a flower.   All of the Cuties work the same way...there are just different petal shapes to choose from.  They are all here in the Flowers & Leaves section.  This was my first time to make these flowers and because I didn't have a quilling tool to roll them, they didn't roll as tightly as I've seen them done.  This left me room to add some Want2Scrap Rhinestones for their centers!  For an added touch, I cut some Cheery Lynn Olive Branches and mounted these under the flowers.

I think this is one of Linda's most beautiful cards yet!!!  Don't you agree???   Please let her know what you think with a comment on this post.

As always, you can click on the gold links above to see the items Linda used in the Classy Cards 'n Such online shop.

I have been stamping for 18 years, and love to try new things. One of the new things I just started is digital stamping.  I find it is as fun and as challenging as stamping.  And I love Spellbinder dies,  and embossing folders of all kinds. I love flowers and bling and Copic markers.

When I am not at work, reading or playing on the computer, you will find me making cards, which I donate to the ladies organization at church.  My style tends to be what ever I am in the mood to do that day. I do not use much designer paper because I want people to see the image and not worry so much about the background.  I have a blog and hope you will stop by to see it.

I can't wait to see what these talented ladies create!!   How about you???   Check in often or better yet, become a follower of this blog, subscribe to email updates or follow us on Facebook.   Links are on the left sidebar.

Sarah's Vintage Valentine

My, how these months have flown by! It's hard to believe it's time for me to share with you my final card as one of Beverly's Guest Design Team members. I have had so much fun designing for her - and using so many wonderful products from Classy Cards 'n Such in the process! So let me now share some more great things from her store on another one of my Valentine creations.

I started by making my card base with a piece of shimmery cardstock from the Specialty Paper Variety Pack. This particular cardstock is called Stardream Fuse Azalea and can be purchased separately too.  On that I put a piece of pink cardstock which I had dry embossed using the Hearts embossing folder. I tied a bow around that with some beautiful Light Pink Sheer Asiana ribbon. Then I placed my stamped image which was layered over some gray cardstock on top. Finally, I added three gorgeous little Gillian Raspberry flowers. They are so, so pretty and with their speckles of glitter they add such a wonderful feminine touch. And that was it! A quick, easy Valentine.

I hope with this card I have continued to inspire you to create your own works of art. The items from Beverly's store have been a big inspiration to me and I am sure they will be for you, too!

Wishing You Many Blessings,

Sarah

Thanks, Sarah, for sharing so many of your beautiful creations!!!

Thanks to each of you for stopping by!!!  Until next time...

Linda's Pink Valentine

Linda is back with a gorgeous Valentine!!!

The Christmas holidays are behind us and it's time to start looking to the new year ahead.  Since the stores are full of things to remind us that Valentine's Day is just around the corner, I decided that my first card of 2012 should be a Valentine card.

Instead of using the traditional red for this card, I chose to go with pink.    If you haven't figured it out by now, pink is one of my favorite colors to use in cardmaking.  I just seem to always be drawn to that color!

I started by matting the card with some Valentine DP from my collection.  I then layered a Spellbinders Classic Scalloped Heart and added the Heart Within My Heart from Cheery Lynn Designs. Don't forget to save the punchouts!  They will work well inside this card, on another card, or the small hearts can be used for confetti! The hearts were cut from the Rose Quartz cardstock.  This Heart Within My Heart die is so versatile that it is great for a Valentine card but would be great for a wedding or engagement card as well.

To add interest to the card front, I used Nestabling Scalloped Heart Pink Pearls and regular pink pearls, both from Want2Scrap.  The saying on the card is from an outline sticker sheet called "Happy Valentine" and the gold outline hearts are from a sticker sheet called "With Love".  I used 1/4 " Scor-Tape to adhere all the layers and the Joy Foam Pads Small to pop up the Heart Within My Heart die.

Beverly has several different Cheery Lynn Designs and Spellbinders heart dies in the Classy Cards 'n Such shop, any of which would be a great addition to your Valentine cards.  Also take a look at the beautiful Want2Scrap pearls and rhinestones she has.  They add so much interest to your cards.
Thanks, Linda!!!  Click the links above to see the items in the Classy Cards 'n Such shop.

Thanks for stopping by!!!  Until next time...
