Linda has done it again and created a gorgeous card!!!
Today I'm back with another Valentine card. The red paper I used to mat this card came from the Doodlebug Sweet Cakes paper pad. This paper pad is so great for Valentine cards and the great thing is that each sheet is double sided so you can really get alot of use out of it.
I attached a Cheery Lynn Designs French Pastry Doily to my mat with Scor-Tape. The sentiment in the center is from the JustRite Romantic Sentiments Centers. On top of the doily, I added a Cheery Lynn Dutch Scallop Square which was popped up with foam dots. A Cheery Lynn Fanciful Flourish was added across the corner. These were all cut from Esse Smooth Pearlized White paper from the Classy Cards 'n Such shop. The Cheery Lynn Designs Celtic Heart was cut using the Wild Cherry paper from The Paper Cut Layering Swatches #2.
The flowers are Cheery Lynn Cuties 2 cut from the same paper as I had used for the mat. To make the Cuties, cut two strips of paper with the die cut and then glue the two strips together with a narrow line of glue close to the bottom - one on top of the other - with the petals alternating. Then either slip one end into a quilling tool or hold it with a small needle-nose pliers or similar tool and wind it around into a small ball, gluing as you go. Once finished, hold it for a minute or so and allow the glue to dry. Then gently fold the petals outward to more closely resemble a flower. All of the Cuties work the same way...there are just different petal shapes to choose from. They are all here in the Flowers & Leaves section. This was my first time to make these flowers and because I didn't have a quilling tool to roll them, they didn't roll as tightly as I've seen them done. This left me room to add some Want2Scrap Rhinestones for their centers! For an added touch, I cut some Cheery Lynn Olive Branches and mounted these under the flowers.
I think this is one of Linda's most beautiful cards yet!!! Don't you agree??? Please let her know what you think with a comment on this post.
