Celebrating you!

Jennipher is here with another great card!   Here is how she desribes it...

Hello Everyone,

It's Jennipher with my latest card for Classy Cards 'n Such.

If you are short on time, one of the easiest ways to design a quick card is by using an embossing folder. Some of them, like the Spring embossing folder I used here from Crafts Too, have designs that are more than just a repeated pattern. By adding black pearls to the centers of the embossed flowers and in the flower buds, I enhanced the actual design and gave it added dimension.

By adding Black Soot Distress Ink to the edges of my vanilla card base I gave the illusion of another layer while pulling the black, azalea, and vanilla color scheme all together. All that's left to do is add a sentiment in a spot that doesn't take away from the intricate design, which for me was the lower right hand corner.

Next time you need a card in a pinch, try using an embossing folder for a quick and elegant design!

Celebrating You

I have very few of that great Spring folder that Jennipher used, so order now while I have some!   If I run out and you order before September 30th,  you can still apply the SEP15 promo code at checkout to get 15% off all embossing folders.   The vendor has been out as well but they are expected back in stock soon.  I'll just need to hold your entire order until the folders come in.

Thanks Jenn!!!  And thanks to all of you for stopping by!!!  Until next time...

Fall Thanks

Linda made this beautiful card!   Here's what she has to say about it:

This card turned out to be more fall-like than I originally intended, but I really like the look.  I used a burnished orange paper from my collection for the card base and for two of the Spellbinders Labels 18.  The bottom label is embossed with the Crafts Too! Dots embossing folder.  I then used a DP from Prima's Romantique Collection for the mat and an additional Labels 18.  I stamped the "Thanks" stamp from Art Impressions and embossed with gold embossing powder.  I used foam dots to add some dimension to the Labels 18 stack.  I added some bling with e. Pearls and Crystals from Prima and Asiana Old Gold Ribbon which can also be found in the store.  The bow was made with the Bow-Easy and I used 1/4 " Scor-Tape to mount the mat.

Fall Thanks
Linda

Can't you just see using this card as a fall thank you note - maybe for a sumptuous Thanksgiving dinner?   Or even for a Thanksgiving greeting to a friend or family member?

Easel 3D Cards

I've made a couple of the new Easel 3D cards!   Are they ever fun and easy to do!!   They can be a little bit time consuming depending on the number of pieces to be placed, but it is very worthwhile to me!

There are currently two different sets available in the Classy Cards 'n Such online shop - Florals Mirror Design Set 1 and Florals Mirror Design Set 4.  Each packet contains four different designs with the matching easel card and envelopes.   Both of the cards below are from Florals Mirror Design Set 1.  The design sheets have a base design or picture and several detailed designs to be layered in the appropriate place with tiny foam pads to give dimension.   The detailed designs are numbered so there is no guess work as to what to place next.   All you have to do is follow the numbers on the sheet, punch out the design and then place the detailed design on top of the correct flower or other design element using tiny foam pads - either the large (1/4" x 1/4") or small (1/8" x 1/8").  Don't be fooled by the names of the foam pads though!  Both are tiny!

If you flip the base design over, it's easy to see where the punch outs are between the flower stems.  I did have to do a little bit of fussy cutting with fine tipped scissors and a craft knife on the tulip basket design, but not on the rose design.  You do need to trim the little nibs of paper off where the main design attached to the sheet, but it's no big deal.

Let me show you the cards!

Tulip Basket

I added a Happy Birthday greeting to this one from the Inspirational Birthday Rubz set.  As you can see, there is plenty of room under the tent for a handwritten note if you like.  The easel folds flat for easy mailing.

Here's the second card.  This beautiful rose design was a little simpler to do but still very elegant, I think!

Rose

I will be using this one  as a sympathy card.  Here's the side view where I hope you can see some of the dimension.

Rose - side view

These are designs that can be used as they are or you could add additional embellishing with Stickles, ribbon and more if you like.

In addition to these card kits, there are three individual sheets of flowers that can be assembled as the focal point on your card or scrapbook page!   You can see all of the 3D art here.

Give these little beauties a try!!!  I think you will like them and that the recipients of your cards will be thrilled as well!

Remember Judy who won the last blog candy???  She chose the Fanciful Flourish for her prize.   She shared these two cards with me this week that she made with her Flourish - click here and here to see her beautiful work.

I just added a couple of Twitter buttons - one to follow this blog and the other for you to share the blog via Twitter with your friends if you would like.  Do I dare admit that I don't have a clue about how to tweet?   Yikes!!!  There are no teenagers in my house to educate me so if any of you have tips I should know about, please email me privately at beverly@classycardsnsuch.com.  Help is much appreciated!

There are still a few days left in September to take advantage of the 15% off embossing folders by using the code SEP15 at checkout!   There are several new ones this month, so please take a look here!

Thanks for stopping by!!!  Until next time...

The Only True Gift

Here is another of Pati's great cards!!!

Time for another card for Classy Cards 'n Such. You just have to check out their store. Lots of must have dies, stamps, bling, paper, ribbon and oh so much more.

Pati Olson
http://shabbypati.blogspot.com

In this day and age of buy, buy, buy, the front of the card sentiment has special meaning for me. Most of you know I have nearly 50 grand and great-grand kids and buying "stuff" for them is a real strain on the budget. I think it's nice to get back to giving of ourselves instead of buying the latest and greatest must haves.  I do have to admit though, I am one of those who always wants the newest dies, stamps, etc. for myself so this lesson is definitely for me!

Enough of that.....let's get out our supplies and make a card.

I had this greenish paper lying around in my cabinet and just never found a good use for it. Then I thought, green and pink and it just seemed to work for me.  The gorgeous doily is the Italian Flourish Doily and it is wonderful cut from card stock. In front of that is Spellbinders Scalloped Ovals but Spellbinders Lacey Ovals would work as well.  The pearl bling is Finesse Swirls White Pearls which I really love.

The border edge is a Die-Namics border. The bow is made with pink seam binding and to that a nice little stick pin was added.   The flower I made using a three inch strip of satin that I cut into several sized circles and burned the edges with a flame. It is secured with a cute pink dotted brad.

 Now for the inside:
I used the Spellbinders label 8 in two sizes and trimmed it with the Cheery Lynn Fanciful Flourish.  I trimmed a bit off of it to put on the upper right and added a few Want 2 Scrap pink pearls. The Wishing you stamp is from Verve. I then inked the edges of the card using Ranger Brushed Corduroy.

I hope you enjoy making your card today and thanks so much for dropping in for a visit. If you haven't already, please sign up to follow me so that you will know when new cards are posted.

Have a wonderful "creative" day!

Thanks Pati and thanks to each of you for stopping by!!!   Until next time...

Christmas Village

Linda has been busy making Christmas cards!  If you are short on time (and who isn't these days??), these cards have a simple elegance but are fairly quick to make.   Give it a try!!

White Christmas

Linda used Esse Pearlized White for the card base.  She embossed the Christmas Tree on Esse Pearlized White and matted it with AC Specialty paper.  She decorated the tree with Red Rhinestones and embossed the star with gold embossing powder.   The Happy Holidays sentiment was inked with Versamark, embossed with gold embossing powder on red AC Specialty paper and cut out with Labels 10 mounted on gold Lacey OvalsAssorted gold lines outline stickers are at the base of the tree.  She used her Cuttlebug and 1/4" Scor-Tape.

Merry Christmas

With this card, Linda embossed the Christmas Tree directly on the card base and decorated it with Amber Rhinestones. Similar to the White Christmas card above, she has embossed the star with gold embossing powder and assorted gold lines outline stickers are at the base of the tree.  The Merry Christmas outline sticker is from her stash.  She used her Cuttlebug and 1/4" Scor-Tape.

Christmas Village

Linda started with background paper from Waiting for Santa by Webster's Pages.  She diecut the Elegant Evergreen Christmas tree and decorated it with Baby Red Rhinestones.  She mounted the tree with pop dots to add dimension.  She stamped Merry Christmas by Art Impressions with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on red cut with Fancy Tags Two.  She added snow on the rooftops using Frosted Lace Stickles by Ranger.  The red and green papers are from her stash.  She used her Cuttlebug and 1/4" Scor-Tape.

You may click on any of the links above to see the item in the Classy Cards 'n Such online store.

It's never too early to get started on Christmas cards so why not start with these???   Embossing folders are still 15% off through September 30th, so it's a great time to take advantage of the sale!!  Enter promo code SEP15 at checkout.

Thanks for stoppng by!!!   Until next time...

Rose Creations Birthday Card

A few days ago, one of my cousins asked me to create a special birthday card for one of her cousins who will soon celebrate her 90th birthday.   This is what I came up with.   I hope she likes it!!

I started with a card base of Esse Smooth Pearlized White paper.  I cut the largest Lattice Rectangles from the same paper for my first layer, as well as one of the Fancy Tags Two for the Happy Birthday greeting which came from the Inspirational Birthday Rubz.  I used the matching Pink Pearls Nestabling to outline the greeting.  I used White Baby Pearls to accent the Lattice Rectangles.

The pink rose was really fun to make!  It's made from Rose Creations by Spellbinders and shaped using the new McGill Paper Blossoms Tool Kit.  I love these tools!  They make shaping your flowers a breeze!!!   The center is one of the mid-sized pearls from the White Pearls.  The paper is DCWV.   I used Stardream Emerald cardstock for the rose leaves and Fanciful Flourish behind the rose.  I spritzed the rose with Tsusineko Sheer Shimmer Spritz.  The finishing touch was one of the Mini Exotic Butterflies with White Baby Pearls placed along the body of the butterfly.

Just before I placed the entire piece on the card base, I scored two lines above and below the lattic rectangle.  I used foam dots to give the Lattice Rectangle and the Fancy Tag dimension.

Inside the card, I used a smaller Lattice Rectangle, accented again with White Baby Pearls, and made a smaller version of the pink rose.

Stairway to Heaven

Jennipher is back with another beautiful card!

Hello again! It's Jennipher for Classy Cards 'n Such. I've been wanting to try some of the fun folds for cards that you can create using your Scor-Pal or Scor-Buddy.

Today's card is called a Stair-Step card and I used this tutorial found at Splitcoast Stampers: http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/resources/tutorials/StairStepfold/. There's also a video in the link if you are more of a visual person.

I created my card base using my Score-Pal and Smooth Pearlized Cocoa cardstock. Once it was scored and folded the fun part began! I decorated each stair separately using patterned paper, outline stickers, a border punch and black pearls.

For the center step I needed to create a focal point and I used my Spellbinders Labels Eighteen to create an elegant shaped base. I die-cut some white cardstock into an oval shape and stamped my Scripture on it. Before adhering it to my shaped base, I sponged the edges with Milled Lavender Distress Ink. Once adhered to the base I added black pearls all around and finished off the center by adding the "blingy" flower off to the side.

If you've never made a stair-step fold card before I hope you will give it a try. It's super easy and tons of fun. The possibilities with this fold are endless!

A true friend...

Pati has shared another of her gorgeous cards!!   Here's what she had to say....

This card has been designed for Beverly at Classy Cards N' Such. Lots of new things in her store these last couple of weeks. Check it out.
This card was made with another page from Webster's Pages Hollywood Vogue collection.  I played around a bit with one of Spellbinders Fancy Tags 3 dies and used it to cut two sides of a fairly large rectangle. I was happy with the way it made a larger frame for my sentiment.
I've included a photo below of how to cut just the top and you just reverse the paper to cut the bottom. Just another way to use your dies.
I also used Spellbinders Labels 20 behind the tag to give a little more depth.  Behind that you will find the beautiful English Tea Party doily and that just sets the whole thing off.
I made the flower and leaves from satin, using a really easy technique.  The card is finished with beautiful bling called Finesse Swirls White Pearls.  The sentiment was stamped with a saying from Fiskars Make a Wish clear stamps and Memento Rich Cocoa.
I hope you have enjoyed this card and be sure to visit Classy Cards N' Such blog and store. You can use my discount code Pati-10 until October 31st.
Have a wonderful day.

I made this card last night for a friend's birthday.   A little different for me, but cute, I think!   The stamp is by Tena Wenke.  I just love the little Mouse with Sunflower!   I colored with Copics and used a Gelly Roll pen to add a bit of sparkle on the bees' wings and flight trail, cut out with the Classic Rectangles LG  but the butterfly didn't quite fit, so I cut around it.  I mounted it on Stardream Emerald and put a border around the image and the card with the Assorted Lines (copper) outline stickers.  I used the Swirl embossing folder on the yellow background mat.  A Happy Birthday Rubz finished the card!
