A Purple Rose

Good morning, Steph here and I absolutely love the large rose stamp from the Classic Bella Rose set from Heartfelt Creations - it's such a pretty, detailed stamp. I used an assortment of Copic Markers to color the rose and the leaves, then used brown ink around the edges after I die cut it.

I created a crisscross card which is approximately 5 1/2" x 4 1/2". Using my Scor-Buddy made it so easy to get the perfect score lines. To dress up the front, I die cut a Spellbinders border die and then used the Nested Oval Medallion Labels as the base for the rose. The rose was added with Joy Foam Adhesives for a 3D effect.

My interior card is 4 1/4" x 5 1/4", was cut from brown cardstock, then white cardstock was added on top using Scor-Tape. The sentiments are from Topsy Turvy Cakes by JustRite Stampers. The two colors of ink coordinate with the roses which I added to the right side of the card with Joy Foam Adhesives.

A close up of the rose.

3D Ornament Card

Hey, it's Holly posting today, and I've got a new Christmas card to share with you.  Slowly but surely I'm building up my Christmas stash.  Hopefully I'll have enough cards made before December rolls around!  :-)

On this card today, I was going for a homespun country feel with a fun 3D element thrown in.  I started with a vanilla card base, added a burgundy layer, and a layer of patterned paper from the Handmade Holiday 6x6 paper pack.  I stamped the Merry Christmas sentiment with black ink toward the bottom of the patterned paper - it looks like it is part of the paper, doesn't it?  This sentiment is from the Noel Christmas Ornaments stamp set from Just Rite.  Also in that same stamp set, I pulled out the small oval ornament and stamped it on burgundy cardstock several times.  This ornament was cut out with the new 2012 Heirloom Ornaments die set (Spellbinders) - I just lined it up over each stamped ornament and die cut each one individually.

Once my ornaments were die cut, I used the Going 3D technique from Technique Junkies to transform the flat ornaments into a wonderful 3D version.  I wanted just a wee touch of sparkle on these ornaments, so I pulled out my Sakura Stardust Glitter Pen and went over some of the lines to give them a little oomph.  You can see the ornament and the sparkle in the close-up picture below.

I tied some linen thread around the top of the 3D ornament and set it aside while I die cut the fabulous Pine Branch.  It was just too green for me, so I used a brown Copic marker to draw in the brown branches and I sponged a little brown ink to tone down the green-ness before I adhered it to my card.  I affixed the 3D ornament to the Pine Branch and then fluffed up the pine needles for a little extra texture.
Thanks, Holly, for another wonderful Christmas card!

Peace

Hi everyone. It's Jenn and I'm back this week with a Christmas card as promised!

My card is simple, yet elegant and can be made in under 15 minutes. This would be a great card to mass produce!
I started with a base of Pearlized Esse White Metallic measuring 4.25 x 5.5 inches. I ran the front layer through my Cuttlebug with the Holiday Magic Spellbinders M-Bossabilities folder. These are fabulous as they are double-sided embossing folders. I used the "swirly" side.

Next, using the Holly Corner from Cheery Lynn Designs and the Stardream Emerald cardstock, I cut out two holly corners and added Baby Rhinestones in Red for the berries.

Continuing to work with the Stardream Emerald cardstock, I die cut a Grommet Tag and added Red Rhinestones in the grommet holes.

Using white cardstock and Spellbinders Labels Eighteen I die cut a label to stamp my sentiment on and then layered it on top of the grommet tag.

I hope that you will try the M-Bossabilities as they are a larger size embossing folder and you get two designs literally for the price of one. They emboss a nice crisp design that makes a lovely background for any simple, elegant card!

Jenn...such a beautiful card!  Click on any of the gold links above and you will see the items Jenn used to make this gorgeous card!

Daisies from Steph

Good morning everyone.  My name is Steph and I'm a new designer here at Classy Cards and I couldn't be more thrilled!!!  The store has awesome products and I know you'll find everything you'll need to create your projects.

Today, I'm using stamps from Botanical Medallions by JustRite Stampers.    Don't you love the Daisies!!  I colored them with markers before cutting them out.

I used a pre-made card and added black cardstock and some pattern paper for my card base.  I love layers because they add a lot of dimension to cards without a lot of bulk.    A strip of black cardstock was added to the card front and I tied some Doodle Twine around the center.  It is very easy to create layers when using assorted die cuts and/or cutting out your stamped images.  Since I wanted the Daisies to stand out, I die cut the smallest die from black cardstock from the Nested Oval Medallion Labels die cut set, then added a yellow die behind that and placed the sentiment across the top cut with the Vintage Label & Banner Dies.

Each die cut layer has been added to the card with Joy foam adhesives for dimension.

The card layers were adhered with Scor-Tape then Doodle Twine was tied around the center of the card before completing the card.
Thanks, Steph!   Cute card and welcome to the Classy Cards Design Team!!
The new October Cheery Lynn release is available now!  You can see it all in the NEW!!! section of the Classy Cards shop.  I only ordered items I felt would be of current interest so many of the items are marked as special order items.   There is no extra charge for special orders, but it will take a week or two to get them to me.  Some of the new release items include holidays through Mother's Day and some will probably be gradually added to the shop.   Some dies are larger and more appropriate for scrapbooking.   I'm happy to order as needed!  Take a peek!

Thanks for stopping by!!!  Until next time...

Azalea Ringed Circle Buckle

Hi everyone!

I have a really fun and easy card for you today.   I've made several similar cards which can be used for just about any occasion.  Change out the colors or buckles and you have a completely different card!

I started with an ivory card base.  I usually match white and white, but this time, the ivory base just struck me!  :-)  I used the A2 Matting Basics A and A2 Matting Basics B to cut the pink and white mats.  The Matting Basics by Spellbinders make life so much easier for me when it comes to cutting mats!   They are always straight and have the exact borders that you want whether it's 1/8", 1/4" or multiples of one or the other!

The pink mat, Ringed Circle Buckle and Small Butterfly are all cut from Stardream Fuse Azalea cardstock.  I added white baby pearls to the center of the butterfly.

There are three buckle styles to choose from in the Classy Cards shop and you can see them all by clicking here.  You could always get extra use from the buckles by using them as a focal point or accent with a flower in the center!

The white mat is from the beautiful Butterflies cardstock!

I cut a short length of Rose/Pink May Arts ribbon and wove it through the buckle and adhered the ends to the back of the Azalea mat.  I added a couple of glue dots under the buckle with ribbon to keep it a little flatter.  This ribbon style has several gorgeous colors to choose from!  You can see all of the ribbon in the Classy Cards shop by clicking here.

I added a Happy Birthday Rubz using a stylus from the Paper Blossoms Paper Tool Kit.  These are so quick and easy to apply and no mess!!!

I made a frame for the card front using gold lines stickers.  These have the look of gold embossing and I think it is just the perfect way to take your card to the next level.
I hope you enjoyed my card today and will try it with your own flare!

With Thanksgiving

Hello Everyone! It's Jenn and I'm in the mood for some fall weather and colors. For those of you that don't know, I'm in NC and we don't see much of a fall here.

My card size today is 5.5 x 5.5. You'll find that I have a flair for the square!  I started with a dark rust card base. Then I found this lovely vintage rose pattern in the Glitz Designs Happy Travels Paper Pack. I distressed the edges of the paper and then inked them with Rusty Hinge Distress Ink

Using some orange paper I die-cut the Lacey Pumpkin Corner Flourish from Cheery Lynn Designs and added that to the lower left corner of my card. If you are wondering why it's so shiny, it's because I went over it with the Sakura Glaze Pen. I wanted shine without added dimension and this is the way to get it.

Using my trusty Spellbinders Labels Eighteen I die-cut two labels; one for my Scripture and one for a mat. I distressed the edges of both of these also with Rusty Hinge Distress Ink. I used a ribbon slot punch to make a slot in the top of the larger label. Then I ran two different colors of organza ribbon through them and tied a little knot.

To finish it off, I added one Prima Gillian flower in cider to the lower right hand corner of the label.

I hope you're inspired to make some Fall cards and send some blessings to your friends. I'll see you next week and it's gonna be all about Christmas!

Thanks, Jenn!

I hope you will check out all of the new items in the Classy Cards shop!  There are lots of great items with more on the way!   There are two Classy Snowflake Bundles in the NEW!!! section or the Bundles section.   Each is slightly different and are great prices!   Take a look at both!  Christmas is everywhere in the shop!  Click any of the gold links above for more info!

Joyous Noel Ornament Card

Are you ready for Christmas??  It's Holly today with another Christmas card to share with y'all.  This one has more muted and elegant tones with a little touch of glitter.

I started with a couple of patterned papers from the gorgeous Handmade Holiday 6x6 paper pack (Simple Stories) and adhered them to a strip of vanilla cardstock.  I added some Ivory Cotton Cluny lace over the bottom piece of patterned paper and taped it to the back of the vanilla cardstock strip.  This piece was then affixed to a burgundy card base.

Next, I stamped the largest ornament from the Noel Christmas Ornaments stamp set (Just Rite) on some vanilla cardstock and cut it out with the coordinating 2010 Heirloom ornament die set (Spellbinders).  This ornament die set used to be in the Classy Cards 'n Such store, but I believe it has sold out.  (You can always cut this out with scissors.)  I colored the ornament with some Copic markers to match the papers and then I lightly sponged the edges with some Antique Linen distress ink.  Then I pulled out my stash of glitter and added some Chantilly glitter to the three circles on this ornament.  The ornament was then affixed to the card with some Joy foam pads (small).

This card can be created in tons of different colors - just change the papers and color-coordinate the ornament.  Best of all, this card doesn't have any bumpy embellishments and it will be perfect to pop in the mail.  I hope this inspires you to make a few more Christmas cards for your stash this year.  :-)

Really classy card, Holly!!  Holly is right...the 2010 Heirloom Ornament set did sell out, but I'm happy to place a special order for anyone who wants a set.   They are $24.99 plus shipping and can be ordered here.

Thanks for stopping by!!!  Until next time...

And now, here's Holly's wonderful Glittery Leaves card!!
Hi, it's Holly posting today, and I want to share this Glittery Leaves card with y'all.  I have been itching to play with my glitter again, so I pulled them out and picked some colors that I thought would be good for leaves.  Here's what I ended up using:

Leaves dies (Impression Obsession)
Anytime Sentiments stamp set (Impression Obsession)

I adhered the red paper to a kraft card base, then added a small strip of floral paper and some burlap.  I cut out the journaling piece (part of the Harvest Lane pad) and stamped the sentiment with chocolate ink directly onto that.  Next, I cut out the leaves from the 6x6 Double Sided Adhesive.  I peeled the backing away from one side of each leaf and covered each leaf with glitter, making sure to press it in with my fingers for good coverage.  Once I figured out my placement of the leaves, I peeled the backing from the other side of each leaf and carefully placed each leaf onto my card.  I love the contrast of the glittery leaves and the burlap and kraft cardstock.
Don't forget to take advantage of FREE SHIPPING!!!

Remain in Me

Hello Everyone! It's Jennipher and I am most delighted to be back designing for Classy Cards 'n Such! I had such a blast last time I couldn't resist coming back.

My card today is 5 1/2 x 5 1/2 square. I started with a base of pale pink cardstock. Then I added a sheet of designer paper from the Glitz Designs Pretty In Pink Collection. It has such a lovely musical background with just a hint of pink in it. I distressed the edges of my paper and then sponged on Spun Sugar Distress Ink

Before adhering that layer to the pale pink base I added a strip of May Arts Textured Two Tone Ribbon in Fuchsia/Pink across the top.

I used my Spellbinders Labels Eighteen largest die to cut out a matching flower border stamp for the Scripture I planned to use. I colored in the tiny flowers with Copic Markers. I just love how they are making coordinating stamps to work with these Spellbinders Dies. It's so much fun! I also used the Spun Sugar Distress Ink around the die cut edges.

For finishing touches I found the perfect shade of a pink/fuchsia flower in the Flowershop De Soie Collection by Prima. I added that to the lower right corner of my card.

I hope you are inspired by what I created today and will give some of these fabulous products a try!
Thanks, Jenn, for a beautiful and inspirational card of encouragement!

Be sure to check out the new dies in the shop.  You can see them all here in the NEW!!! section!

Hi, it's Holly posting today.  Can you believe it's less than three months to Christmas?  I'm starting on my Christmas cards with this pretty Snowflake Rose card I'm sharing with you today.

Before I get to the details, here are the items that I've used from the Classy Cards 'n Such store:

Lacey Circles dies (Spellbinders)
Medium Rose dies (Cheery Lynn Designs) - I used the leaf from this die
Anastasia border die (Cheery Lynn Designs)
Cuties 3 die (Cheery Lynn Designs)
Snowflake 5 die (Cheery Lynn Designs)
Merry Christmas die set (Cheery Lynn Designs)

I started off with a 4x4 inch square of paper from the Rejoice paper pad, and I adhered that to a red mat (4 1/8" square) which is adhered to a vanilla card base (4.25" square).  I experimented with the Anastasia border die to see how I wanted to frame my snowflake.  If you look closely, you will see that I cut the fancy edge of the border die cut so that you just see about 1/4" of it.  I love this delicate framing on the edges of the patterned paper.

I cut a Lacey Circle from vanilla cardstock and then a smaller circle from red cardstock.  The Snowflake 5 die was used to cut a vanilla snowflake which I adhered to the red circle.  The green leaf comes from the Medium Rose die, and I cut the Cuties 3 die cut from vanilla cardstock.  Before I rolled up the Cuties 3 die cut, I sponged some red ink on the edges.  It really helps to use a quilling tool to roll up these Cuties die cuts.

I needed a sentiment on the inside, so I cut the smaller Merry Christmas sentiment from red cardstock and glued it down.  This card turned out better than I envisioned it in my head!  I love it when that happens!  :-)

Don't you just love Holly's creativity???  Christmas will be here soon, so stay tuned to the Classy Cards blog and shop for great ideas and great products!!

Fall Wreath

Hi, it's Holly posting today.  I created this clean and simple and easy card to share with y'all to celebrate this long-awaited fall season.  I'm so happy to kiss those 100+ degree temperatures good-bye!  :-)

For my card today, I started by cutting the gorgeous Grapevine Wreath from some kraft cardstock.  I then took the tiny leaf die from the Bare Branch die set and cut out different colors of leaves.  The leaves were randomly adhered to the wreath and then I added a bow at the top.  The sentiment, from Anytime Sentiments (Impression Obsession) was stamped with a coordinating deep red ink below the wreath.

This Grapevine Wreath is so versatile.  I can't wait to use it to create winter and Christmas cards.  Wouldn't it be fun to use this with little hearts all over it for Valentine's Day, or some pretty flowers to usher in spring and Easter?  My mind is whirling with all the exciting possibilities!  :-)

Thanks, Holly!
