Colors of Fall

Hello Classy friends! Diane here with you today with my card from our newest challenge Cozy Plaids. Add warm, fall colored plaids to your project.

Nothing says fall like a squirrel scampering around gathering his winter food! We have lots of squirrels here out in the country where I live, and when I saw this cute Squirrel from Stacey Stamps, I just had to purchase it!

I first stamped the image with Versamark and then heat embossed with Sparkle 'n Sprinkle Brown Fizz Embossing Powder. If you were here to see the card "in real life", you would notice a bit of "Sparkle". And a quick tip is, don't forget to use the Anti Static bag before you stamp your image!

I die cut a few Prima Leavesone was cut from the beautiful Classy Fall Card Stock Bundle, using the Mandarin Curious Metallic included in the package.

Next is the most exciting new die I think! It is a My Favorite Things Die-Namics Sequins die. Using the Orange Iris Shimmer Sheetz, I cut the most fantastic sequins!!
Beverly carries two new sampler package Shimmer Sheetz both Iris and Gemstone. Just imagine all the colorful sequins you can make with these!!

I did pop up the background paper a bit using Joy! Large Foam Pads.

The Design Team at Classy Cards 'n Such would love to see YOUR entry into our challenge. Don't forget with 7 or more entrants, you have a chance of winning a "fabulous" prize!

Hope to see you here!!!

Three Roses

Good Day! It's Gracie, from Graciellie Design, with a new post for this week's challenge at Classy Cards 'n Such: Cozy Plaids.

It is with great joy, and a big thankful heart that I write in this occasion, since today's card represents a bunch of different good things in my life: Family, true friends, unconditional support and love.

To make my card I started by die cutting my card base with A2 Matting Basics A from off white cardstock. Then I printed a plaid digital paper, and a digital floral tag I designed, on White Pearl Linen. I die cut a matting frame and four corners with A2 Filigree Delight and a label with Fancy Label Tags One, both from the plaid patterned sheet. I die cut the floral tag with Elegant Ovals. I also used Elegant Ovals to cut a larger oval from beige cardstock.

I layered the four corners right on top of the frame's corners to create a subtle tridimensional effect, subtle because both were cut from the same paper. I added a piece of pink Ribbon vertically right on the center. Then I mounted the large oval, followed by the small oval which was decorated on its top and bottom ends with the patterned tag label. The tag label was actually cut in half, and I adhered the pieces to the back of the small oval, showing only the filigree ends.

To finish my card I stamped the word "family" from Prima's Lady Bird Collection stamp set with Brilliance ink and die cut the sentiment with the smallest die from Fancy Label Tags One. And finally I embellished the die cuts with Baby Pearls - LeCreme.

I want to dedicate this card to two very special ladies, Beverly and Debbie. They are represented in this card by the two red roses, which are somehow sustaining a smaller pink rose, which I find represents me very well in this case. I want to thank these two ladies for their support and love, and for being there for me, like family.

Thanks To The Lord

Hello, there, it's Diana today!  I am still loving my Impression Obsession Small Leaf Set! For this week's challenge to add warm and fall colors to our Plaid.

I started by embossing my background with a plaid design. You could use the Darice Plaid Background embossing folder. To color my Small Leaf Set, I used watercolor paper and did a color wash on them with some fall colors.

After it was dried, I swiped Tim Holtz Antiqued Bronze Distressed Stain over my dried paper, to give the leaves a little extra shimmer. Then I die cut them several times with my Small Leaf Set and used some Joy! Small Foam Pads to pop up a few leaves.

Finally, I embossed my sentiment in Black Detail embossing powder. I used Spellbinders A2 Matting Basics A to cut out my verse, from ODBD Cherry Blossom stamp set. I left it in the die to sponge around the corners to define the edges to my embossed panel which is also popped up.

I hope you get to play in the challenge this week!

Best Friends

Hi friends, it's Jenny posting. I created this card for our latest challenge at Classy Cards 'n Such. I was so inspired by the wonderful warm plaids inspiration photo. I began by looking through my stash of design papers.  I love these papers by Bo Bunny and Graphic 45, I can always find something for every occasion.

After choosing coordinating paper I still needed a focal point.  I found this adorable Stampavie Sarah Kay Sofia Wishes stamp that I hadn't inked yet and I thought her "Holly Hobby" look was perfect for a warm/plaids challenge.

I stamped her using Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and colored her with Copics in reds, oranges and yellows to compliment the design papers.  I cut the image using the largest Spellbinders Labels Eighteen die and then used the die as a stencil to sponge yellow distress ink around the image to soften the central panel.

I found nautical Cheery Lynn Designs Wheeler Doily die left over from another project.  It's out of stock at the Classy Cards store but there are some other lovely Cheery Lynn doily dies in stock.  Right now all Cheery Lynn Designs dies are 40% off with coupon code Cheery40.

I sponged distress ink around the edge of the yellow doily to add a touch of red.  The sentiment is from JustRite's Floral Vintage Labels Two Stamp Set.  It was stamped in black ink and then cut out using a Spellbinders Classic Circles Small Die.  I also used the die as a stencil and sponged more yellow ink around the perimeter of the circle.  Softening up the edges and using Spellbinders dies as stencils might just be my favorite crafting technique.  :)

This is such as fun challenge and hope you can join us this week.  I can't wait to see your plaid inspired creations!

Christmas Cardinal

It will soon be time to begin decorating for the holidays, So, now is the time to make your holiday cards.

This is Mindy, joining you with a cozy little Christmas Cardinal card suitable for your seasons greetings.

I started by die cutting the cute little Right Facing Cardinal from Dee's Distinctively Designs, out of Christmas red card stock. I highlighted the die with dark gray pastels from the Landscape Starter PanPastels set, sold in the Classy Cards 'n Such online store. After gluing the segments together, I put the little bird aside to dry completely.

Next, I built the card's layered background.  I used a Kraft colored A2 card stock base, and adhered a dark brown rectangle, cut from the Spellbinders A2 Card Creator Die set called Distressed Edges.

Using double-sided Scor-Tape to adhere the layers, I the cut the next layer from my cozy plaid paper sold by Graphic 45, with the Decorative Labels Eight die by Spellbinders. I also cut one small oval from the Classic Ovals Set, also by Spellbinders.  Classy Cards carries many different Spellbinders dies, but if there is one you need that you don't see pictured, you can Special Order it by contacting the store.

After chalking the oval, the cardinal and branch were attached with Joy! Large Foam Pads and the entire unit then attached to the card front. The sentiment banner and red plaid paper were from the Graphic 45 Twelve Days of Christmas paper pad I had left over from last year at Christmas.

Happy Holidays to One and All!
