For My Friend

Hi, it's Misti!

I have a sympathy card to share with you today.  A good friend of mine lost her father this week.

Since I have such a hard time making sympathy cards to keep on hand, I was able to personalize this one just for her.  She loves light pink roses, so that's where I started with this card.

The roses in the With Sympathy set from JustRite are just beautiful. I stamped them onto a piece of white cardstock and water colored them with Tim Holtz Distress Ink Markers, using  Spun Sugar, Peeled Paint  and the Detail Water Brush. I backed it with a piece of gray cardstock. Then I set it aside.

I used white cardstock for my base and the same gray to make a mat.

Then I used a piece of designer paper from the KaiserCraft Key to My Heart pack. I added a piece of White Cluney lace before I taped those pieces down.

I took another piece of white cardstock and the Spellbinders Radiant Rectangles. I used the fourth one from the center. Don't forget to use the Cuttlehug. It will make a huge difference getting into all of those detailed areas!

I adhered the roses pieces onto the rectangle and used pieces of Joy Foam Pads to pop up the rectangle.

I added White Baby Pearls to the corners of the white cardstock and the pink designer paper.

Thanks for checking out my card! Hope to see you again!

Simply Vintage Rose

Hi, it's Misti today!

Have you noticed that Beverly has added a new line of stamps to the store?  They are B Line Designs stamps. Oh my goodness! These stamp so nicely! They are a red rubber cling stamp that are deeply etched with lots of details.  I'm so hooked!!

My card today uses the Garden Rose stamp. I stamped it onto a piece of white cardstock with black ink. I used Peeled Paint and Spun Sugar Tim Holtz Distress Ink Markers, with the Detail Water Brush to color it in. Then added it to a black panel from the Layering Swatches #2 - Deep Variety.

The pink designer paper comes from the new Bo Bunny Soft Shades Double Dots paper pad.  These remind me of all things spring!

I added some white Cluny Lace and some Black Pearls.

I'm so ready, so bring on spring!

Such a pretty card for any occasion! Thanks Misti!

So Loved

Hi everyone! It's Jenn and I'm sharing a card today inspired by our sketch challenge this week.

I began my card with a pre-made Kraft card base. I added a layer of Stardream Rose Quartz to the base. Using the pink rose patterned paper from True Romance 6.5" x 6.5" paper pad by Kaisercraft, I distressed the edges and added it to the Rose Quartz layer.

Continuing to work with those papers and some moss cardstock from my stash, I created more layers. To the vertical two inch layer, I added a strip of White Cluny lace.

Using the Heart Circles from Spellbinders, I created a double layer for my focal point. I stamped the butterflies and focal sentiment.  I cut out the butterflies and added Pink Pearls by Want2Scrap, for their little bodies. To the heart circle layer, I added a Prima Gillian Flower.

For finishing touches, I knew I wanted to add an extra little sentiment to the card. I used two of the tag dies from the Sentiment Tag 3 by Cheery Lynn Designs, to create a double layer and stamped my finishing sentiment.

This is a great card for a special lady in your life, to let them know just how much they are loved!

Your card is so lovely! Thanks Jenn!

Lacy Simple Pleasures

Hi folks, it's Holly posting today.  I'm sharing a simple vintage-y card that shows off some gorgeous Cluny lace and one of the new lace border dies in the Classy Cards 'n Such Store.

This card starts with an ivory card base and I've sponged some Antique Linen distress ink around the edges.  This gorgeous floral paper is from the Magnolia Grove paper pad, and I used the new Lady Kate Edger die (Cheery Lynn Designs) on the bottom of this paper.  This border die does not cut through your paper on the opposite end, so it is perfect when you want to add a lacy look to the edge of your paper.

I then cut a piece of the wonderful Ivory Cotton Cluny Lace and wrapped it around the top of the floral paper before adhering the paper to the card base.  The "Simple Pleasures" sentiment circle is one of the pop-out die cut pieces in the Magnolia Grove paper pad, and I adhered that with some Joy Foam Pads.  The sweet little flowers were created by cutting some mauve cardstock with the Cuties 3 die (Cheery Lynn Designs) and then rolling it up with a quilling tool.  I added some Light Coral Pearls to the centers of each flower for an extra touch of vintage charm.

FREE SHIPPING ends at midnight, Thursday, March 21st!  Click here for details.  Get your order in now!

Glittery Peony

Hi, Holly here.  Today I'm sharing this glittery peony card with you, and I'll be honest.  I totally squealed when I finished this card.  I love this glittery flower!!!

I started by cutting the Lovely Peony Outline from black cardstock and carefully pulling it out of the die.  I cut a piece of the 6x6 Double-sided Adhesive Sheet just big enough to fit the Lovely Peony Background and adhered one side of it to some white cardstock.  I left the adhesive paper backing on the other side and placed the Lovely Peony Background die onto it and cut it out.

Now with my sticky adhesive background flower and my black outline flower, I worked very slowly and carefully.  I peeled the backing off the top of my adhesive flower and laid down the black outline flower onto the adhesive, matching up the edges very carefully.  Once my black outline was in place, I pressed it down to seal the two flower die cuts together.

Next, I pulled out my Chantilly glitter and poured it over my adhesive flower.  This Chantilly glitter is gorgeous!  It's got a gold/yellow undertone with pinks and roses and and a hint of brown in it.  You can see the gorgeous colors in the close-up picture.  The areas that were not covered up with the black outline were the sticky part of the background flower and the glitter sticks beautifully to this adhesive sheet.

I set aside my glittery flower and put together my card by cutting some papers from the Printery Collection (Prima) and glued them to some vanilla cardstock.  I wrapped some Black Cluny lace around the the middle of the two papers and glued them down on the back of the vanilla cardstock.  I then adhered the papers to a black card base.  The glittery flower was affixed to the card with some Joy Foam Pads (small).

I absolutely love the way the glittery flower turned out!  Now I want to try this with all the different colors of glitter that I have!  I could also use different colors of cardstock for the outline instead of the black that I used here.  Wouldn't this be gorgeous with some deep red glitter and a pale pink outline?  What about a sunny yellow glittery flower with a chocolate brown outline?  I could also see a beautiful blue glitter with a white outline and a purple glitter with a pale blue outline.  See, the possibilities are endless!!!  :-)
So pretty, Holly!  This is one of those cards that can not only be made in many different ways as Holly mentioned, but is also suitable for many occasions!

So Special Someone card with Cluny Lace

Hey folks, it's Holly posting today.  I hope you are having a great week.  I've got a romantic, lace-filled card to share with you today.

I started with a vanilla card front and I adhered a piece of the gorgeous dark rose patterned paper from the Magnolia Grove paper pad to that.  Next, I took three strips of gray cardstock and embossed them with the Bricks and Bark M-Bossabilites folder.  To bring out the raised edges, I rubbed a vanilla ink pad across the gray strips.  I glued these to the patterned paper, keeping to the left side of the card because I knew I wanted to add my sentiment to that side.  Some Ivory Cotton Cluny lace was wrapped around the card front and adhered to the back.  I then glued this card front to a gray card base.

For my sentiment, I cut a Lacey Circle from some vanilla cardstock.  I stamped the elegant circle border from the Hugs and Kisses Sentiments stamp set (JustRite) in the center of the Lacey Circle.  I stamped the sentiment from the Birthday Sentiments set on some vanilla cardstock and cut it out with a circle die and then adhered that to the center of my stamped border.  The sentiment was affixed to the card with some Joy Foam Pads (small).

I absolutely love the lace in the Classy Cards 'n Such store.  I bought some of this Ivory Cotton Cluny lace last year, and I loved it so much, I bought the Sampler package so I could get my hands on all the different kinds.  If you love lace like I do, I recommend getting the assortment package to start with.  I know I'll be going back for more of this gorgeous lace - I can't seem to stop using it!  :-)
The Cluny lace Holly used is so gorgeous!  It also comes in black.
