Cameo Card

Here's another wonderful card from Sarah!

I am back again with another card made with wonderful things from Classy Cards 'n Such

This card was a lot of fun to make, as there are several really great embellishments on there. I just love embellishments! :-)

I started with a base layer of card stock and stamped it with a cheesecloth stamp in black archival ink.  Over that I put a layer of speckled ivory card stock which I roughed up and distressed. I followed it with a layer of black card stock just enough for a narrow border.

Then on went the beautiful patterned paper from the Webster's Pages collection Spring Market/Yacht Club/Country Estate pack . I wrapped two layers of wonderful lace ribbon around the top two papers. I love how the Ecru Delight Lace looks on top of the Black Elegance Lace! NOTE: These lace ribbons look so great in person, and the best part: the ecru lace is only 50 cents per yard, and the black lace is just 75 cents per yard! I only used a total of about 12 inches of each for this card. Seriously, I absolutely love these laces and will be stocking up on more. You just can't beat their value or elegance! :-)

As you can see, this Webster's Pages paper has some really cool images on it. I love the vintage-y feel to them! I knew when I chose this one that I wanted to make sure those cool birds did not go to waste or be covered up. And when I thought of using a stamped cameo image, the tag from the Spellbinders Fancy Tags Three die set came to mind to use as a frame. I love the Victorian look of these tags! And when I placed it under the birds I just loved it, and knew right away that the pearls would be my next addition.

I put a Prima flower in the corner, and then stamped the scripture in black archival ink. There were so many different sentiments I could have chosen from to make this a card for many different occasions: birthday, thank you, thinking of you, missing you... that's what I love about these papers: you can use them for almost anything depending on your mood or the occasion.

Linda made this quick and simple, yet very elegant card.  Try it, won't you??  From Linda:

Need a really quick and easy Thanksgiving card?  This ones fits that description.  The main focal point of this card is the Lacey Pumpkin Corner Flourish from Cheery Lynn Designs in the Classy Cards 'n Such online shop.  I cut this from paper in my stash and  attached it to my layered cardstock.  I then used the Spellbinders Labels Ten to add the Thanksgiving sentiment. As a final touch,  I dressed it up a bit with pearls and fall  leaves.  And there you have it, a very quick and easy Thanksgiving Card that anyone would love to receive!
Thanks, Linda!
There is gorgeous new Want2Scrap bling in the shop!!

Gorgeous 3-D art from Jennipher!!!

Today I had the opportunity to experiment with the wonderful 3-D art that Beverly has in the store. I chose to work with the 3-D die-cut flowers by the sheet.

Anemones
http://jennipherlowery.com

The sheet I worked with today has Lilacs, Hyacinths, and Anemones on it. This was super easy and fun. All you do is pop-out the completed flower arrangement that you want to work with. Then, working by numbers (and the sheet is numbered) you adhere the layers on top of the die-cut arrangement with foam pads.

I used the new foam pads by Joy Crafts that Beverly has recently added to the store and I really like working with them. I bought both sizes and I'm glad I did. The smallest size is just perfect for those little tiny things, like flower stems, that need to be popped-up.

Once I had my arrangement completed I adhered it to a Stardream Chiara Coral lacy oval that I cut with my Spellbinders Lacy Oval die. For my card base I used Esse Smooth Pearlized White Neenah paper. I added a layer of designer paper from the Romantique Collection by Prima.

Next, I added a strip of the Textured Two-Toned Ribbon by May Arts in Pink/White across the base layer before adhering the lacy oval with my floral arrangement. This ribbon is so gorgeous in real life!

For the finishing touch, I added some Silver Rhinestones Swirls to the corners. The swirls are actually from a larger piece of bling from Want 2 Scrap and I just cut off the pieces I wanted to use on my card. Don't worry, the rest of the bling is still very useable.

This card came together quickly using the 3-D art and I strongly encourage you to try a sheet. You'll be hooked in no time! I bought one of every sheet and I can't wait to make another card using these gorgeous flowers.

Until next time...

Thanks Jennipher!   I love the 3-D art too!   It's like putting a puzzle together only you have all the instructons.   How cool is that??   Follow the links above in Jennipher's post and you will be taken directly to the item in the Classy Cards 'n Such online shop.

Here is Sarah's first Classy Cards post!

I am so excited to share my first card for Classy Cards 'n Such with you! I really had fun making it, especially since I was using several of these products for the first time.

I started out knowing I wanted to use the Romantique paper stack from Prima. I always love their papers, and this time was no exception! It was hard to choose, but I finally decided on a lovely piece that I knew would fit my mood ;-) I kept things fairly simple so as to play up the beautiful, soft white flowers in the print. I first distressed the edges of a piece of vellum cardstock (Stampin' Up!). I then added my patterned paper onto it. I adhered them onto my gray cardstock (Stampin' Up!) card base.

I used white satin ribbon (Stampin' Up!), and to make my bow look extra nice, I tied it using the Bow Easy. I love that little tool! And when I hung the cross embellishment (Michael's), I did not want the string to show, so I put on one of these wonderful little Webster's Pages Whimsy Lotus Blooms on it. These flowers are so, so pretty!

The sentiment (Stampin' Up! Refuge & Strength), stamped with Jet Black Archival Ink (Ranger),  fit perfectly onto one of the tags from the Spellbinder's Fancy Tags Two die set. I added a coordinating Nestabling silver rhinestones frame over it. These rhinestones are wonderful; they just peel right off and stick on. Easy as can be, and look at the beautiful effect you get!

With a few white pearls I had in my stash added to each of the corners, my card was complete. Simple, elegant and a perfect "anytime" card to send someone "just because".

Announcing the new Classy Cards 'n Such Guest Design Team!!!

I've just gotten the rest of the info I needed to announce the new Classy Cards 'n Such Design Team!   So without further ado, let's welcome Sarah Bennett and Elisa Kammerdiener!   Of course, Jennipher Lowery is staying on, so we will continue to enjoy her creations!

Sarah Bennett
I am a stay-at-home wife and mother of four children. When not busy with my family, I can often be found in my craft room (a.k.a. my "sanctuary"), surrounded by things that inspire me: paper, ink, rubber stamps and embellishments! I consider card making to be a wonderful creative outlet as well as a nice diversion from the busy, hectic and sometimes stressful days we all seem to have.

After years as a Stampin' Up! demonstrator, I am now concentrating on designing and selling my hand made cards.

I am so pleased to be joining Classy Cards 'n Such as a guest designer for the next few months. It is my sincere hope that you will find inspiration through the cards that I will be sharing here, and enjoy the love of paper crafting as much as I do!

Elisa Kammerdiener
a.k.a Elisa K
I am a mother to 4 adventurous children and a proud Navy wife.  We currently live in Washington state but I am originally from Illinois.

I started scrapbooking when I had my first child in a way to keep our families up to date with the everyday things our children do. It has been 18 years now and I am still hooked. I love to scrap the everyday adventures along with the usual family and holiday events. When I'm not scrapbooking I am making cards and teaching card classes at my local scrapbook store 2-3 times a month.

I already have cards to post later this week from Sarah and Jennipher.   We'll get to see Elisa's first creation for this blog next week.   I'm delighted to have all three of these talented ladies on the Classy Cards 'n Such team!!

Thanks for stopping by!!!  Until next time...

A Birthday Mouse

This is one of Linda's latest creations!   Here's what she says about him...

This little mouse is the cutest little fellow.  The stamp is a Tina Wenke by Stampavie called appropriately "Mouse Carrying Cake", which I colored with my Prismacolor markers.  He was cut out with the Large Deckled Rectangles by Spellbinders and layered that on the large Lattice Rectangles die cut.

I added pearls from the Want2Scrap Eggplant Lattice Rectangles Nestabling and used foam dots to pop him up and add dimension to the front of the card.  The "Happy Birthday" is an outline sticker.  These stickers are really easy to use and I think really add alot to a card. It is layered on a Spellbinders Fancy Tag

All the paper used on this card was from my stash.

Linda
I just love this little guy!   Thanks, Linda!!!

Hello everyone,

It's Jennipher and I'm back with a fall card to share with you today. I'm certain that many of you are already off to a great start on your fall cards. But for those of you that are looking for a quick elegant design, that is what I have to share.

Blessings...Count Yourshttp://jennipherlowery.com
I started my card with a base of Stampin' Up!® cardstock. To that I added some of the WonderFALL designer paper by Webster's Pages. I chose this particular pattern because the sentiment "Blessings Count Yours" was built right into the pattern.

I adhered a Sunflowers Silver outline sicker to a Lacy Oval die-cut piece of the burgundy side of the Plum Iridescent Specialty Paper. I layered that onto a larger Lacy Oval die cut.

For finishing touches, I added some Webster's Pages Whimsy Perfect Petals and  two lines of the Fine Border Thick Thin stickers in Silver.

If you haven't tried the outlines stickers yet, you should. They come in really handy for making quick classy cards and you can stock up on them by taking 10% off using my discount code: JENNIPHER-10. Beverly has a great selection in her store to choose from!

On a slightly different note, this was scheduled to be my last card for Classy Cards 'n Such but I'm excited to say that Beverly has extended an offer to me to stay on awhile longer and I'm truly honored to acccept and well, like my card says...It's a blessing and I'm counting it!

Looking forward to sharing more great products with you from Classy Cards 'n Such.

Until next time...

Thanks, Jennipher, for another great card!!!

It's been a really busy week for me and I'm trying to catch up!   Exciting things are in store for the blog and the shop, so please stay tuned!!

Thanks for stopping by!!!

Bird Sanctuary Birthday

I made this card for Mom's birthday last week. It's a little different than I usually make, Mom and I both liked it and I hope you do too!

I made the card base using Reich Shine Champagne specialty paper.   It's really beautiful and shimmery!  I used the Curious Translucents Plum Iridescent for the mat and embossed it with the Scrollworks Crafts Too! embossing folder.   I also cut the bird cage which is from the Spellbinders Bird Sanctuary set from the same paper and embossed it as well with Scrollworks.

One of the Mini Exotic Butterflies is cut from the same paper and the other from Stardream Chiara Coral.  Both of the butterfly bodies are embellished with Baby Pearls - White .  The bird cage is mounted onto Spellbinders Teardrop Circles also cut from Stardream Chiara Coral.   I finished it with a flower from the Ceylon Garden collection, Finesse Swirls - Brown Rhinestones, and added a strip of Butterfly Borders to the top and bottom.

For the inside of the card, I cut the bird from the Bird Sanctuary set from Curious Translucents Plum Iridescent and set him atop the Fancy Tag on which I used a Happy Birthday sentiment from the Birthday Rubz and embellished with Baby Pearls - White.  Foam dots are used to add dimension on both the front and inside of the card.
