Autumn Harmony

Hello Classy friends! Diane here with you today with my project. Our new challenge this week is Trees and/or Foliage.

I went with a much larger card then I normally do, a 5 1/2 x 5 1/2 square.

My background paper is from the beautiful 6" x 6" paper pad by KaiserCraft, On This Day. The paper is actually tiny polka dots, but my camera would not pick them up, no way, no how! Let's just say next year I am springing for a new camera!

I stamped The Woods, by Stacy Stamps, with Versamark twice, and heat embossed with Sparkle 'n Sprinkle Black Fine Detail embossing powder.

Next I used a piece of scrap and randomly "painted" different colors of Twinking H2Os from the Autumn Brilliance and Think Pink sets as shown. I used the smallest leaves from Impression Obsession Leaf Cluster to cut out the various colors.

After the leaves were cut, I glued them here and there on the trees.

The sentiment is from the Impression Obsession Harmony In Autumn set, and cut with Spellbinders Decorative Labels Eight.

The card was finished with Amber Rhinestones.

I invite "you" to get inspired from our Design Team and inspiration photo (found here) and join in the challenge with us!

Thanks A Bunch

The gently falling leaves seem to whisper to me, saying fall is on it's way and summer will soon be through.

Mindy here, to share with you a card inspired by this week's challenge at Classy Cards 'n Such, Trees and/or Foliage.

I love the many colors of fall, showcasing the autumn colors of orange, yellow, green, and brown. I started with a sheet of the Super Gold Metallic paper, and cut it in half crosswise 5.5"X 8.5" for an A2 size card. I then scored it in half at 4.25", and ran the front of the card through my Cuttlebug machine with my Dots embossing folder by Crafts, Too!

I then die cut a branch similar to the Bare Branch by Impression Obsession, and ran the Small Leaf Set also several times through the die cut machine. I then took several fall colors of chalk inks to highlight the edges of each leaf before gluing them on the branches and the pile on the ground.

I then cut a frame from the Valiant Honor Card Creator set from Spellbinders, along with the label from this same set. I adhered the frame with foam tape for dimension on top of the tree branch, and then stamped the phrase on the label.

To finish the card, one of the puppy dog dies from the Puppy Set from Impression Obsession was added to the leaf pile.

We invite you to create a card for this week's challenge, and submit it on our challenge page. You could win a wonderful gift for your card making supplies. Enjoy!

Hello Autumn

Hi, it's Jenny posting today!  I was inspired by the beautiful inspiration photo to use the Impression Obsession Small Leaf Set.

I started by cutting leaves out of yellow, green and red card stock and then I sponged distress ink on the leaves to give them a more natural appearance.

I was planning on using my wreath die for the wreath but changed my mind because I couldn't wait to play with this new Joy! Cutting and Embossing Die -Circle. Isn't it beautiful? There are some new Joy! dies in stock now in the store and they are all lovely.  I cut the Joy! Circle Cutting and Embossing Die out of white card stock, and then cut out  the center using the corresponding smaller circle die from the set.  I cut the center because I wanted the background paper to show through. The circle was also sponged with distress ink.

The pattered background papers are from the Botanical Tea paper pad.

The Large Bow and Hello die are both from Impression Obsession, and both were cut out of colored card stock and then sponged with distress ink.  The bow was popped up with a Joy! Foam Pad and I added a flat back Pearl for a touch of class.

Thanks for looking and I hope you can join us in this great new challenge!

Count Your Life

It's Shirley posting today! It is that time of year where summer is winding down and fall is heading our way, here in the States.

We already have leaves falling from the trees and I am seeing lots of deer in the woods behind my house. As I view my card, I definitely see a look of fall.  I am not ready for fall because I know a cold winter follows next.

I started off using black card stock to cut my step card base.  I proceeded to cut the main pieces of my card using Graphic 45 French Country designer paper.

I used the Impression Obsession Small Grass Border for my greenery. I adhered it to the card. I used the Impression Obsession Bare Tree die to cut the tree out of black card stock, and attached it to the card.  I cut the Impression Obsession Small Deer from  brown card stock, and adhered them to the card.

I used a small circle punch to cut the sun and sponged it with deep orange ink. I decided the tree needed something extra and used a butterfly punch to add the butterflies. I cut small squares from the Graphic 45 French Country paper pad.

I used small punches to for my Life letters  and adhered them to the steps with glue. I have used glue dots for this before, but I have found that the glue holds them in place much better.

I used the Spellbinders Classic Large Scalloped Ovals die to cut the oval that is placed under the plain oval.  I used a sentiment from the JustRite Botanical Medallions stamp set. To finish up my card,  I fussy cut part of a sunflower from the Graphic 45 French Country paper pad.

Thanks, for viewing my card today.  Come back tomorrow to see another fabulous card designed by one of my Classy Cards 'n Such team mates.

Fall Wreath

Hello, it's Diana today! I love fall! Sweaters, school starting, and of course the beautiful foliage. One of my favorite things to do on cards is to make a wreath. I first used all the colors from this week's Classy Cards 'n Such inspiration photo on my watercolor paper.

When I saw the Impression Obsession Small Leaf Set, I knew I would make a wreath with it.

I swiped some Tim Holtz Antique Bronze distressed stain over my dried paper to give the leaves a little extra shimmer.  This is a great way to make your own designer paper when you want a particular set of colors.

I used my Spellbinders A2 Matting Basics A to cut out my bottom layer and the small leaf dies for my wreath.  I used about 6 sets to make my wreath.  I made a circle template with some circle punches and then glued my leaves on a sheet I had embossed with a brick embossing folder. You could use the M-Bossabilities Bricks and Bark embossing folder.

I added a sentiment from ODBD Ornate Frame Sentiments with Sparkle 'n Sprinkle Copper embossing powder on Vellum.  To make the sentiment pop a little more, I added a layer behind the Vellum from some scraps and adhered it all by sewing along the edge of the banner.

Thank you for looking and hope you get a chance to play along!
