Shabby Christmas

Hi Stampers, welcome back to Classy Cards 'n Such!

Shirley posting today with another Christmas card.  I was in the mood to do a shabby and scrappy style card, and here it is.

I started with a 5 1/4 inch square piece of designer paper from my scrap bag.  I cut a 5 inch square red card base.   I followed with cutting a 4 3/4 inch piece of paper from the Graphic 45 12 Days of ChristmasI adhered all of the card pieces together.

Now it is time to start the shabby decorating.  I took a red piece of paper from the 12 Days of Christmas paper pad and cut two pine branches with the Impression Obssession  Pine Branch die.  I know you have never saw red pine branches, but that is the fun part of card making, you can make things any color you want! I trimmed off the top of the branches to make them fit my card better and adhered them to the card with glue.

There were some scrap pieces of burlap on my craft table so I glued them to the red branches. I used my Bow Easy to make the cream colored bow.

I used my hot glue gun to attach two baby pine cones  and the bow over the branches. I love these pine cones.  I looked high and low for these and could not find them anywhere.  I had a friend who picked these up for me on one of her walks.  I like those kind of finds.

I used my PoppyStamps Small Blooming Poinsettia die to cut my poinsettia bloom. It was attached to the bow with glue.

I had some brown, although they really look cream colored, pearls to my card for the finishing touch.
I am glad you stopped by to visit today.

  1. Yup, you can make things any color you want - remember the aluminum Christmas trees?? LOL - I love the way you fashioned your centerpiece with the bow, burlap and the baby pine cones - looks perfect on that Graphic 45 paper!

    Awesome card, Shirley!
